Rhiannon shook her head and said. “That’s where you are wrong. You have always been busy at work and didn’t even know what was happening at home. She never brought me up! My nanny is the one who brought me up.”
“Rhiannon! We still paid Mary for the work she did,” Mrs Clark said coldly as she thought that the nanny would never complain to Rhiannon that she didn’t get her salary.
Mary never complained as she didn’t care about whether she was paid or not. What mattered to her the most was whether Rhiannon was having a good life or not.
“Paid her? Do you take me for a fool? She has never received a single penny from you thus you better shut up! My mother left some money for my nanny. The money was her salary for thirty years,” Rhiannon said shocking them.
“What? Dad, are you surprised? You have always given your wife money to pay my nanny but she never did. Even the allowance that I was supposed to be given, she took it all and gave it to Kaylee. At that time, I didn’t see the need to complain to you as my aunt Abi always gave me monthly allowance,” Rhiannon said with a smirk causing Mrs Clark’s face to turn pale while Mr Clark’s face darkened as he glared at his wife.
“Now Dad tell me. Do you think that I should recognize her at all? I have done everything I could to please her in the past but she still hated me. Now, I am not allowed to get into my mother’s mansion. If only you never cheated on my mother,” Rhiannon said in a sad tone.
“I didn’t come here to have some chit-chat with you guys. I came here for my belongings and also to take my mothers,” she said and Mrs Clark’s face paled.
Upon seeing the pale look on the latter, Rhiannon could tell that there was something wrong and frowned.
“I had already told the nanny to pack everything up and I am sure that she has finished but on second thought, I won’t do that,” she said and Mrs Clark sighed in relief.
Octavius glanced at his wife as he couldn’t understand what she was thinking.
“Nanny,” Rhiannon called out to Mary immediately after she saw her.
“My child,” Mary said with tears in her eyes.
She hurriedly walked towards Rhiannon and embraced her. She later looked at the latter carefully as if she were searching for any injury
“Nanny, I am fine,” Rhiannon said with an assuring smile.
Mary looked around and saw Octavius standing with a cold smile behind Rhiannon and frowned.
“Rhiannon, is he your husband?” she asked causing Rhiannon to nod her head.
Mr Clark who was so absorbed into the family quarrel and failed to see Octavius glanced at the latter and he became furious.
“Rhiannon, what is the meaning of this? How can you disrespect my wife in front of an outsider?” he asked angrily causing Rhiannon to raise her eyebrow at him.
“Well, he isn’t an outsider as he is my husband! The only outsider here is that mistress of yours. This is my mother’s house thus my husband has every right to be in his mother-in-law’s house,” Rhiannon said coldly with no intentions of backing down.
Mrs Clark glared at Rhiannon with hatred as she vowed to teach the latter some discipline.
Rhiannon glared at them coldly then shifted her gaze to Mary.
“Nanny, have you packed everything?” she asked softly.
“Yes, but some of your mother’s and your jewels are missing,” Mary replied as she glanced at Mrs Clark whose face was pale.
“Did you take my mother’s belongings? I just said that I would never take my mother’s things but it seems that you are so used to taking her things. This time, you better return everything to me before I report it to the police,” Rhiannon said coldly.
“Rhiannon, what are you trying to do? Your mother is dead, do you want her jewels to always be there? They should be worn as they cost a lot of money!” Mr Clark said as he couldn’t let his wife go to prison.
Rhiannon’s eyes turned colder and stared at his eyes.
“What right does she have to wear my mother’s jewels? A mistress taking my mother’s jewels? Do you think that I am dead? I am not! I am her daughter and if there is someone who has any right to wear them is me! Not her! You better tell your wife to bring my mother’s belongings before I instruct my men to call the police and turn this place upside down.
“You! Go bring everything you took from Sabrina’s room,” Mr. Clark said to Mrs. Clark immediately he heard her mentioning her bodyguards.
He still remembered what happened in the office and was afraid of them.
“But….” Mrs Clark was unwilling and hoped that her husband would side with her.
“No buts! You better bring everything that both you and Kaylee took,” Mr Clark said as he didn’t want her to face the bodyguards but how could the latter understand his good intentions?
He glared at her coldly and finally, she walked upstairs.
After waiting for fifteen minutes, she came back with some boxes and placed them on the table.
Although Sabrina died early, Rhiannon still remembered her mother’s jewels thus she started to open the boxes one after another and finished five minutes later.
“You think that I am joking? Where are the rest?” she asked coldly causing Mrs Clark to flinch.
“What do you mean? This is everything that belongs to your mother,” Mrs Clark said refusing to admit the truth.
Mr Clark took a glance and understood everything but opted to side with his wife as to him, Rhiannon was still young when her mother passed away thus she couldn’t remember her mother’s jewels.
Rhiannon stared at them silently as she allowed them to go for the rest but they pretended not to see her and that they had given out everything.
“Since you have refused to bring everything they don’t blame you for being ruthless,” Rhiannon said coldly making the old couple have a premonition in their hearts but what else could they do?
If they moved or said anything at the moment, it would be the same as admitting that they had left something behind.
“Octavius,” Rhiannon called out.
“Don’t worry. I have taken care of everything,” Octavius replied.
Moments later, their bodyguards followed with the police walked in.
