The royal king traveled to Country C and everyone thought that he was joking.
When he had boarded the plane, the princes were anxious but they knew that there was nothing that they could do when their old man had already made the decision and was even supported by their mother. All they would hope for was that he wouldn’t come across Rhiannon or the brother they had lied to him that he was dead.
The third prince on the other hand set off immediately he was permitted by the king as he had been secretly training their soldiers he had thought of going to the war with his second brother as he could be called the fourth prince if Gustavo was included.
“My Highness, where are we going to stay as you didn’t allow me to book any hotel?” the fourth prince who had accompanied the king had asked his father that time when they were on the plane.
“If people hear that we are at the capital and know we are staying in a hotel, they would do their best to find which hotel, and when they find out where we live, they would spam the hotel and there wouldn’t be any peace,” the king had replied.
“Why does my royal father intend for us to stay while we are at the capital city of Country C?” the prince asked further.
“The Rodrigues Mansion,” that was the king's answer.
“Your majesty, you have been staying here with us for a week now and you still haven’t told us the main reason for your trip,” Amanda said with a frown when she looked at her in-law.
She and her family were filled with guilt as they thought of Rhiannon. Although they had all been friends in the past, they wondered how the man would behave when he got to know that his precious daughter had married his son and even died without them informing him.
Because he was currently living with them, they had removed all photos of Rhiannon as she had much resemblance to her mother and were sure that he would be able to tell that Rhiannon was his lover's daughter although he might misunderstand. To avoid all that, they continued to play stupid thinking that he was going to leave so soon and didn’t give much thought.
However, a week passed when the man was still living with them. They finally got the courage to ask him why he had come back to the capital.
“How many times have I told you not to call me Your Majesty, Amanda? Aren’t we still friends?” the king asked with a chuckle but there wasn’t a hint of happiness in his eyes.
“That can’t do. Although we are friends, I should give you the respect you deserve, Your Majesty,”
“My son died when he got out of your party, Amanda,” the king said coldly as he looked a Amanda and her family of three who had turned pale when they heard his words.
They had always been engrossed in Rhiannon’s death and the chances of whether she was dead or not as she had the object her mother had left her. They realized why the organization wanted the item when Octavius told them that Rhiannon should have died in the fire but she didn’t thus they guessed that even in the airplane crash, she should have survived it but where she currently was, they didn’t know and could only hope that she was fine wherever she was.
However, they had totally forgotten why Rhiannon was using a plane and who she was with till the king said it.
They realized that even though Rhiannon managed to survive, the prince must have not survived.
All that was on their mind was one thing, ‘they were finished!’. They finally understood why the king was there but at the same time couldn’t understand why it had taken him a long time to come when his son had died a year ago.
“I am sorry Your Majesty,” Antonio said as he fell on his knees asking for forgiveness.
The king's eyes were cold as he looked at him not feeling any pity. At the same time, regretting allowing his son to go to the party.
“Who released the news that he was my son with Celestine?” he asked coldly as he had thought that they had known about it since Amanda was Celestine's friend thus she had to know that the latter had been pregnant.
Again, the Rodrigues family were shocked.
“What! Celestine's son? That means,” Octavius said then shut his mouth remembering that the king didn’t know of Rhiannon.
“How is that possible?” Amanda said as she shook her head.
“She was pregnant at one point, don’t you remember?” the king asked with a frown when he saw their shocked gazes.
“Pregnant,” Amanda said lost in thoughts.
“Wasn’t her child kidnapped?” Antonio said before regretting it when he saw his wife’s face.
‘Mmh, your friend gave birth to twins. One of them had been kidnapped by that friend of hers, what’s her name again?’ it was then she recalled Mrs Sanders's words when she had visited Celestine at the hospital and didn’t find any child.
Most people knew that she had lost her pregnancy, but very few knew what had happened at that time. She was one of them. She had mentioned the kidnapped of her husband but didn’t mention the other child as the Sanders never told her where the other child was. She had thought that he had died, who knew that they had handed him to the king for his protection?
“Kidnapped? What’s going on?” The king asked as he felt there was something wrong somewhere and he didn’t know.
He remembered how Celestine had begged him to take their son with him and wondered whether he had been kidnapped then they found him and she thought that she couldn’t provide security to the child but then shook his head when he remembered the doctors mentioning that the child had been at the hospital all times.
“Can you tell me what’s going on?” he asked loudly.
When the fourth prince descended from stairs he found the atmosphere very odd and frowned as he wondered what had happened.
“Actually, Celestine had given birth to twins that time,” Amanda confessed as she knew that she couldn’t lie for long and it shocked everyone.
“What have you done?” the fourth prince shouted out of anger when he heard her words.
