“Ninety-eight percent,” Gustavo said in a serious tone and they started looking at each other. Some nodding but there was still some reluctance in their eyes.
“Well, that two percent is too little. I guess we can give him a chance but that will only be after we evaluate the strength of the men he will be training. If they wouldn’t have reached a certain level and surpassed through terrorist men, there is no way we are going to let him go out there and get himself killed just after we have rescued him,” one of the elders said and the others nodded their heads agreeing with him as they felt that that was the best decision.
After all, even if they refuse him to go, how then will they get rid of the terrorists?
Rhiannon and Prince Ernest looked at each other as they sighed since they knew that there wasn’t much they could say especially since the elders had decided. They were just the two of them against twelve, it was evident that even if they used votes to vote for their brother’s proposal, they would lose miserably. Therefore, they had no choice but to concede defeat and agree to his request.
“Okay, but you have to promise me that when you go out there you will take care of yourself. After all, you aren’t a god that you won’t get injured. Also, be careful not to be seen or for someone to know who you are as you will be in great danger,” Rhiannon said her voice full of worry.
“Don’t worry girl. I will accompany him there,” Yadira said with a reassuring smile on her face.
“No!” Everyone around the room yelled making her confused as she couldn’t understand why they were saying no.
“You will be staying here in the palace. Don’t even think of following me there,” Gustavo said coldly as there was no way he was going to let her follow him.
“What's the meaning of these? You know well that your chances of winning will increase with me by your side,” Yadira shouted at him while Rhiannon and Ernest sighed.
“Well, it is a great battle, Yadira. He wouldn’t be able to protect you and protect himself,” Ernest said with a stern look causing Yadira to glare at him.
She respected the man as he was her older brother and because of his identity as the second prince of the royal kingdom, he feared him and she couldn’t bring herself to argue with him the same way she argued with Gustavo.
Although the two men were twins, she had grown up with Gustavo and the latter doted on her thus she could say whatever she wanted to say without feeling pressured or a wave of fear.
“He is right. I wouldn’t have time to check whether you have eaten or not. Whether you acquired some injuries that need to be treated or not. Even if with you the chance of winning will definitely increase, we will waste a lot of time,” Gustavo said after some time.
“But I want to go,” Yadira said as she bit her lower lips feeling aggrieved.
“You promised to always take me everywhere you go. Why then are you breaking that promise?” Yadira asked as tears threatened to escape while Gustavo sighed in desperation and Rhiannon shook her head thinking that her sister was really a pampered person if she still depended on their brother till date when she was already a grown-up who could even start her own family.
However, she didn’t look down on her as she remembered that she was once like her. She depended so much on Kaylee giving the latter a chance to mess her up. Looking at her older sister, she felt that the latter was lucky as she was dependent on her blood brother who was there to protect her and wasn’t jealous of her.
With all these thoughts on her mind, she couldn’t help but envy her wishing that she had also grown up with one of her brothers so that she could be like her sister who still wanted to follow the brother who protected her despite of knowing what kind of danger lies ahead.
