“Good evening, there is an airplane that has crashed with people inside it. When it was investigated, it was found out that the people who were in there were, Rhiannon Sanders, the heir to the Sanders Cooperation and the young mistress of the Rodrigues Cooperation. She was traveling with the second prince of the royal palace together with their servants. They were traveling to the Royal Kingdom before they perished in the accident. My condolences to the Sanders, Rodrigues, and the royal family for losing their children.”
The TV in the hall where the guests were was on and it wasn’t known who switched it on or when it was.
All they had was news of an airplane and they listened to it. Everyone was shocked, as they knew those two very well. They had left the party two hours before, so they could not be attacked once again in the hotel.
Everyone initially supported their decision as they knew that Rhiannon was the one who those people wanted and they thought that she would be able to escape the attack and her life would be safe. To them, having a royal princess who was also from the city was good news for them as it would mean that before Rhiannon went to work with other people, she had to remember where she came from but now, everyone remained dazed as they couldn’t believe what they had just heard.
The most shaken and shocked were the Rodrigues and the Andersons as they didn’t believe a single word they had heard on the TV. To them, Rhiannon was still alive and they would be reunited after a few months.
Hey looked at Octavius in worry as they were worried that he would do something after his wife’s death. Although the guy had said that he didn’t love Rhiannon, as his family, how didn’t they know their son's feelings towards the latter? They could tell how much he loved her it was just that he also had not realized that he loved her. Octavius never associated himself with strangers. Even to his friends, he was sometimes cold but to Rhiannon, no matter how they argued, everyone could see that his eyes were still soft and he was helpless.
“Octavius,” Anabelle who was seated next to him called him after the guys stayed dazed for more than ten minutes which started worrying them.
“Mmmh?” Octavus replied as he turned his gaze with had been staring at one place to his twin sister.
“What is it?” he asked in a low and coarse voice making everyone who heard it feel pained.
“Can you please talk instead of keeping quiet? We are all worried about you,” Amanda said as she held her son’s hands looking at him.
Even though she was pained by Rhiannon’s death she didn’t want her death to have a huge impact on Octavius life.
“Talk? What’s there to talk about Mom, mmh?” Octavius asked as he tried to shake his head and the sadness in his heart.
“Anything. You shouldn’t keep the sadness and pain to yourself. We are your family and we will always be here for you,” she said making Octavius nod his head.
“I know that you will always be here for me. Do you want me to talk? Then I will. I will tell you how Rhiannon and I met,” he said with a chuckle but all that was in his eyes were sadness and a little bit of longing.
Everyone around looked at him as they wondered whether Amanda had done the right thing by asking him to speak about his pain as they couldn’t bear seeing the man in pain, he was their family. Someone they watched grow, someone whom they grew up with, and so on. However, they all remained silent as they felt that if the old men in the Rodrigues and Andersons family had not said anything to oppose it, who were they to oppose it even though they were his family?
“I had just arrived in that city. After some rest, the following day, I woke up, intending to finish some businesses online before I went to the office.
On the way, we saw smoke coming from an apartment that was on the front of the road as we lived behind the apartments. Most mansions of the super-rich were located in that direction and behind that luxurious apartment. There were sirens everywhere and loud voices even though it was quite a distance, it had caused a commotion as the fire was still ongoing and seemed like it wouldn’t be stopping. There, she fell in front of our car. All wounded and dirty.
She made us think that that we had caused an accident but when the chauffeur got out and saw the state she was in, he came back and told me.
Do you know what she said at that time?” Octavius asked his family with a faint smile on his face.
“Save me and I will do anything for you in return. I was stunned as this young lady who fell in front of us didn’t have the strength and looked like someone who was about to knock the death’s door. However, her determination to live surprised me and I took her to the hospital.”
“There, she was analyzed and the doctor said that there wasn’t anything wrong with her and that they'd do more tests when she woke up. Let me remind you, she was wounded when we met and her arms were filled with burnt marks but by the time we arrived, there was nothing. It was as if what we saw was an illusion. Even I and my secretary started to treat it as an illusion, he said making Antonio serious.
“However, when she woke up and we were in the middle of speaking after the tests were carried out, news on the tv popped. It wasn’t like this one. It was a press conference her family in that city held. Her step-sister claimed that her sister had died in the fire and her beloved sister, was the one who was going to take over everything that belonged to the deceased even the man whom Rhiannon was supposed to marry.”
“I never cared much about it but when I saw the hatred in her eyes when she stared at the screen, how we met with her, and the place where we found her, I connected the dots. But do you know what surprised me? That fire was huge and there was no way she would have survived but she did. I don’t know how she got out of that apartment cause when it was opened, it was locked with the outside lock thus there was no way someone from inside would have gotten out. Not to mention, all windows were closed as her family wanted her dead thus how could they live any flaw that would lead to her escape?” Octavius asked as he looked at his family who were looking at him with shocked expressions.
“That is how we met. About this air clash. Although I know that it is hard for her to survive even though she jumped up there, I still believe that she is alive, and if she isn’t. Then she has failed miserably and taken a part of me with her.”
