Their sudden actions shook everyone and Rhiannon looked at the men in front of them in disbelief.
“What’s going on?” she asked as she looked at them and her in-laws and nanny.
“Reporting to the princess. These bracelets are the royal’s heirloom. Initially, when the king was given by his father and father after taking the thrown, he poured some of his blood on them making them turn from white to red. Now, looking at the bracelets, they are sapphire in color meaning that the blood that could change these bracelets is royal,” one of the servants explained while kneeling and not looking at her.
Hearing those words, people were more shocked Mary regretted advising Rhiannon to wear them instead of the necklace and at the same time wearing them at all to find her father. She had thought that since the last time the king was with Celestine, he never came back thus he wouldn’t come back no matter what, and Rhiannon would never find out who her father was as she didn’t want the latter to be mocked for being an illegitimate child.
Although she frowned and was displeased when she saw the prince, she felt that the guy wouldn’t know anything about the heirlooms but it seemed that she was wrong. If even the servants knew then how could the prince himself not know?
Rhiannon stared at the bracelets in front of her in one of the servant’s hands and didn’t know what to feel about what she had just discovered. She shook her head refusing to believe what she had been told.
“I am sorry but you are mistaken, these bracelets are just ordinary and there is nothing special about them. Also, how sure are you that there is my blood on them?” Rhiannon asked feeling that was the only way she could find out whether what they were saying was true or not.
“Even if the color changes, there is a particular part that doesn’t change. Because it has had a lot of our ancestors’ blood, there is a corner that is always red. It isn’t visible but if you clearly look at it. You will see it,” the prince said after getting out of shock and hearing Rhiannon’s words.
“Okay. Then go and search for yours as that isn’t enough evidence to prove that the bracelets belong to your family. My bracelet doesn’t have a search thing. After all, I would have seen in all my life,” Rhiannon said coldly as she wondered whether the prince and his people were lying and they were her enemies trying to lure her into saying something that might place her father in trouble.
Although she didn’t know who he was or where he was, she still wanted him to be safe and couldn’t wish any harm to reach him and his family.
“That spot is only visible if the blood is added recently but if it is a year or more, the spot wouldn’t be visible,” the prince said as he took the bracelets from the servant who was holding them.
“Get up,” he told them but they remained kneeling making the prince sigh as the rules in the kingdom were a bit… The servants could only get up if the person they were kneeling to pay respect to told them to and not any other person.
“Why don’t you tell them to stand up and I look for the spot?” the prince asked Rhiannon softly but she just rolled her eyes as she couldn’t understand why he thought that they might listen to her.
“They are your people thus you can command them, why should I when I have nothing to do with them?” Rhiannon asked coldly and stubbornly making everyone in the hall hold their breaths as they wondered where she had gotten the courage to speak to the prince like that. After all, the matter of whether she was a princess or not wasn’t solidified.
“They kneeled believing that you are their princess. They are paying respect to you and they will only stand if the person they were paying respect to told them. Although am currently their prince and boss, there is nothing I can do for them. Even if I force them to stand, they won’t,” the prince explained making Rhiannon look at the servant curiously.
“Does that mean if I don’t tell them to stand then I leave, they might continue kneeling?” she asked as she couldn’t believe that.
“Yes,” The prince said as he nodded his head and smiled when he saw how big puppy-looking eyes shone with curiosity.
“Why don’t we agree on something?” she asked as she looked at the servants directing the question to them but she didn’t hear any reply causing her to frown and glare at the prince blaming him.
The prince chuckled when he saw her actions.
“They are currently kneeling with their heads lowered, how can they know that you are directing the question to them? When I saw the clothes you made, I thought that you were clever but now I think that you are stupid,” the prince said with a mocking smile making Rhiannon so angry that she glared at him fiercely while her eyes were filled with tears threatening to escape.
“You are the stupid one!” Rhiannon retorted back angrily and with a stubborn yet determined look on her face.
The prince had started panicking when he saw her tears but after he heard his words, he calmed down.
As time passed with Rhiannon talking to the prince however she wanted, the people in the hall started realizing that maybe what the servants had said was true and Rhiannon was their princess as the prince was quite tolerant of her.
“Look at that. She has gotten so brave that she even talks to the prince however she wants,” the prince said as he shook his head but his words were enough for Rhiannon to realize what had just happened, and the words she had uttered made her start panicking.
