Octavius wasn’t happy when he realized that the meals they would eat weren’t good for Mary as he had gotten used to her meals and believed that she was the best chef.
Although Celestine taught Mary and the other chefs, she had taught them basic and slightly higher skills than the other chefs. With the book that Rhiannon gave Marie, her cooking skills had improved greatly and the reason Rhiannon requested her to be in charge of the kitchen and head chef was for her to teach the others what she had learned in the last few weeks.
The meals that they were eating were from the practice.
“The meals are so delicious. Way better than what my aunt cooks, Tomorrow when she comes for the party and tastes this meal, I think she will be so depressed to know that she isn’t the best cook anymore,” Rhiannon said as she smiled when she thought of her aunt.
“Grandma doesn’t get old when it comes to the kitchen,” Anabelle said with a smile when she remembered how she used to go on a hunger strike if she wasn’t permitted to go to the old house to eat the delicious meals.
Although her mother had a good meal, she still had miles to go before they reached their second grandmother.
“This is just a shadow. Rhiannon, why didn’t Mary prepare the meals for us?” Octavius asked angrily making Rhiannon roll her eyes.
“Do you pay extra so that she can stop her work to cook for you?” Rhiannon asked coldly making the others lower their heads and pretend to be so into eating while Octavius stared at Rhiannon who was continuing to eat her meals.
"You are still angry," he said as he didn’t need to be told more.
Rhiannon ignored him as she felt that he was not worth his time as he had not even apologized for what he had done.
“Rhiannon, is your nanny so good at cooking?” Amanda asked curiously as she was now eager to eat the latter’s food.
“Yeah,” Rhiannon said simply as she didn’t want to say more than that.
“When do we get to eat her meals?” Anabelle asked as she looked at the food that she was eating and felt that they were bland.
“She has been here to teach the chefs more than they know so that the meals tomorrow can be better,” Rhiannon said causing Antonio who had been eating his phone raise his head to look at her.
“You are helping them improve this hotel's chef. What are they giving you in return?” he asked in a serious tone but Rhiannon who was so into eating didn’t detect the seriousness in his tone and thought he was asking out of curiousness, unlike the others who were now looking at Rhiannon waiting to hear her answer as they knew that their father still didn’t believe that Rhiannon didn’t have anything to do with Phenix Hotel or the Dragons Organisation.
“Nothing,” Rhiannon said as she raised her head but when she saw how they were looking at her and the eyes that Octavius was giving her, she knew that there had to be something wrong with the question her father-in-law had asked her.
“But, I was able to attain the diamond card for myself and our family thus Dad when you are meeting with your friends, Octavius is meeting with his businessmen, and Mom and Anabelle want to come for a spa can get the best of everything,” she said with a smile making the tense atmosphere in the room vanish.
Seeing that, Rhiannon was sure that she had made the right decision and sighed in relief and gave Octavius a grateful look but she didn’t forgive him as she felt that she wasn’t going to forgive him so easily.
After eating, the ladies went to the spa while Octavius and Antonio went to the gym and then afterward continued to work.
Although Octavius had taken charge of the family’s business, Antonio still helped him sometimes and since Octavius married Rhiannon, he had been trying to make more connections than he had as he knew that he would need them soon.
“Tomorrow will be a very busy day as I am sure that the guests will start arriving at one in the afternoon instead of two as they are so eager to enter this hotel,” Antonio told his son.
“Isn’t it a good thing? That way, people will realize that even if there are many emerging rich families, the Rodrigues and Andersons will continue topping,” Octavius said as he was aware of everything that was going on in the capital although he had not been there.
“Yes. And you better stop arguing with Rhiannon. Even if she wants to surpass the Andersons, I am sure that they will understand it. Leave it to your mother instead of making your wife angry at you to the point she doesn’t trust you,” Antonio said as he looked at Octavius feeling disappointed wondering why Octavius wasn’t treating his wife the way he saw him always treating their mother.
“Okay Dad,” Octavius said.
“It's already late and am sure that the ladies have already taken dinner just like us,” Antonio said as he looked at the empty plates and dishes at the far table.
“The meals are more delicious than what we ate at lunch. They have improved,” he added.
“Dad, you have come here multiple times, how are their meals?” Octavius asked curiously but there was something else in his mind.
