“All guests have confirmed that they will come,” Rhiannon told her family as they ate lunch together.
“We have not gotten a chance to look at how the hotel has been decorated,” Amanda said as she was curious but Rhiannon just smiled at her.
“You should get enough rest today as you will be busy tomorrow. We don’t want you to be tired even before your party arrives,” Rhiannon said making everyone at the table chuckle.
“Dad, Mom, I changed the event time, it will be starting at two in the afternoon,” Rhiannon informed them causing them to frown.
“Why so early?” Antonio asked as he couldn’t understand what was going on.
“The vice president also confirmed that he will be present, Country A attorney general has also said that he will be present and the general commander of our country, Country A and Y have confirmed too,” she said shocking everyone.
“What!” They all shouted.
“We didn’t invite them,” Amanda said in a panic as even if her family were the richest, they had to show respect to the people Rhiannon had just mentioned.
“Yes. They just told the manager to tell us that they will be present,” Rhiannon said.
She knew every person she had mentioned but only the Country A general commander. She didn’t have to be told that they were coming because of her but there was no way she was going to tell her family that.
“Rhiannon,” Antonio called her as he looked at her sternly trying to see through her calm disguise.
“Yes Dad,” Rhiannon responded.
“Why are you so calm when we are all shocked, surprised, and anxious for their arrival?” Antonio asked as he felt that someone who didn’t have any contact with those people she had just mentioned shouldn’t be as calm as she was.
“Well, I was like you guys are when I was told the news. It has been a few hours since I was informed thus it was a good time for me to process everything,” Rhiannon said with a smile making Antonio nod his head.
“The Country A general commander is your brother-in-law as he is Anabelle’s husband,” Octavius told her as he was the one who lived with her thus he knew her better than everyone else.
He knew that she had lied to his father but didn’t have any intentions to reveal it. At the same time, he saw her confusion and questions when she said Country A’s general commander and felt that he needed to tell her.
Rhiannon was so shocked and looked at Anabelle as if she had not thought that she had such an identity. She then remembered what she was told about the latter investigated them and frowned.
She promised herself that after a few weeks, she would talk to him so that he would not stand at their organization’s path every time as they had people all over the world as her mother’s students were from everywhere and few had gone back to their motherlands.
“Well, I never thought that there was someone in our family that was in the political industry,” Rhiannon said.
“Well, we had to. This way, we have someone protecting us in the government. Although we are the richest, things can get messy if you don’t give the government what they want,” Anabelle replied making Rhiannon shake her head although she knew Anabelle’s words were right.
“But why go all the way to country A? Can he have a say in our Country C government” Rhiannon asked as she knew a few things about politics.
“Well, not all but if the country wants to make peace with the other country, they should listen to it as if they don’t it might lead to worse,” Amanda said causing Anabelle to chuckle when she remembered making everyone look at her.
“What’s wrong?” Amanda asked.
“I just remembered when the government wanted to own our micro-chip and you asked me to intervene. He told our government that if they don’t appreciate the Andersons and the Rodrigues, he doesn’t have any problem taking us there and being residents of their country as they will appreciate our richness and talent more,” Anabelle said causing everyone to find it amusing and chuckle.
But Rhiannon frowned as she felt that he mother’s people cannot do that.
“When was that?” Rhiannon asked.
“Some few years back. Before the elections and the new government took over,” Annabelle said causing Rhiannon to sigh but what she didn’t know was that he father-in-law was observing her closely.
Even if he didn’t do it openly afraid of being attacked by his family, he still looked at her actions and expressions from time and time.
At that moment, Rhiannon’s phone rang.
“Sorry,” she said as she took her phone out intending to decline the call.
She did that then placed it in her purse once more and continued eating.
After just taking a bit, her phone started ringing once more causing everyone’s eyes to be at her.
“Why don’t you pick it? It might be something important,” Amanda said as she thought that Rhiannon was just afraid of picking up her call in their presence while to Antonio, Rhiannon wasn’t picking up her call because she was hiding something.
“Okay,” Rhiannon said with a smile as she looked at her mother-in-law.
When she saw the country code, she frowned but still picked it.
