“Don’t call me young miss when talking to him,” Rhiannon said in a hurry as she didn’t want the Rodrigues to know her relationship with Dragons Organization at the moment.
Fred nodded his head agreeing to her words as he understood why she was doing that.
“Okay…”
“Just as he wanted to say more, they heard a ‘hello’ coming from the phone as Rhiannon had placed it on speaker.
Even before Fred got a chance to reply to Octavius, Rhiannon hung up the call causing Fred to give her a ‘what was that’ look. As he inwardly thought that Rhiannon missed her husband and wanted to hear his voice just for her to be satisfied.
If Rhiannon found out what he was thinking, she would have been so furious.
“As a manager, I want to believe that you have my parents-in-law's contacts, right?” Rhiannon asked him.
Immediately after Octavius answered the call, she started panicking about being misunderstood and for Octavius to think that she was cheating on him thus she hung the call when she remembered Fred’s identity.
“Yes, Fred said nodding his head.
“But I have Mr Rodriguez's contact and not Mrs Amanda Rodrigues's,” He added causing Rhiannon to nod her head in understanding.
“Give me the number,” she said while she opened the phone app on her phone.
Fred stared at her face for a while before taking his phone out of his pocket, unlocked it, and started looking at the number.
The latter read the number to her while she added it to her phone.
After confirming that she had the right phone number, she dialed it and it was picked up after only two rings.
“Hello. Mr Antonio Rodrigues speaking,” Antonio said on the other hand coldly.
“Hello, Dad. Its Rhiannon,” Rhiannon replied.
“Rhiannon. Did you have a good sleep?” Antonio asked as they were worried about her even though Octavius had told them that she had connections in the capital.
“Yes. I slept in the hotel where the banquet will be taking place tomorrow as I felt that it would be easier for me to look after everything and how the arrangements were going after waking up,” Rhiannon replied as she believed that Octavius must have told his parents that she was in charge of everything.
“Oh, Okay. Have you missed Octavius and that’s why you are calling?” Antonio asked while teasing Rhiannon making her feel embarrassed as her mind was so preoccupied with the preparations that she didn’t have time to think of him and missing him.
“Sorry to disappoint you but that’s not the reason I am calling. I was calling as we don’t have the guest list and we have not yet invited anyone,” Rhiannon said shocking Antonio.
“What! The list was sent to Anabelle a week ago. How come they have not sent it to you?” Antonio asked as he started stressing out as he wondered whether people would go to the birthday party when they had been invited late.
“Maybe they forgot Dad. Please don’t blame her. Can you please forward them to me?” she asked but Antonio remained silent as he was wondering whether they should postpone it or not.
Seeming to know what the latter was thinking about, Rhiannon sighed and then said, “Dad don’t worry about it. They will come and I am sure of it.
“How are you sure about it? Dear, I don’t want to disappoint you but you don’t know these wealthy families from the capital,” Antoni said making Rhiannon shake her head even though Antonio wasn’t there to see her actions.
“Dad, Mom’s family is the Andersons and she is married to the Rodrigues family. She has a powerful background and people need to show up to show their respect to both families. Although we will send the invitation cards late, they will just complain but they will also come. Also, the fact that the banquet will be in one of the best hotels that most of them secretly wish they could enter, will be a privilege to us and they will show up,” Rhiannon said surprising Antonio once more.
He never thought that Rhiannon remembered that people always want to curry favor with the two richest families and won’t let this chance go.
What he was now curious about was which hotel. Although Octavius had told them, they didn’t entirely believe him as the young couple seemed to be fighting and thus didn’t think that Rhiannon would really tell him the truth.
“Rhiannon, can you please tell me which hotel?” Antonio asked curiously.
“I am sorry Dad. But I can’t,” Rhiannon said with a smile but Antonio pouted.
“What it to be a secret. But you should know that that isn’t possible. Once the invitation cards are sent with the venue, most people might call your mother to confirm. Don’t you think that you should tell your dad so that he can be prepared when they call?” Antonio said hoping to convince the latter.
This time around, it was Rhiannon’s time to pout. She knew that he had good reasoning. No matter how much she wanted to keep it a secret from the family till the last time, she couldn’t.
“Fine. The banquet will be at Prenix Hotel,” Rhiannon said causing Antonio to take a deep breath.
“You want to say that you slept there? Don’t you know how expensive it is?” Antonio said in a serious tone while Rhiannon frowned at the tone he was speaking her to.
She misunderstood everything and thought that Antonio thought that she was using Octavius money and that’s why he was mad.
“I am sorry but you don’t have to worry about that. I didn’t use Octavius money,” Rhiannon said causing Antonio to massage his temple as he knew that she had misunderstood him.
“I even didn’t think that you were using his money. Even if you are using your own money. That place is too expensive and I don’t want you to use a lot of money for stupid things when you have a home here. You should come and sleep at home tonight,” Antonio said in a no-discussion tone causing Rhiannon to bite her lower lip before an idea popped into her mind as she couldn’t possibly tell the man that it was her hotel.
She felt that since Octavius who was her husband didn’t know, there was no way she was going to tell the others before him.
“I am sorry Dad. But I had booked the hotel for a whole week so that they could do their preparations and decorations peacefully.” Rhiannon said.
Antonio almost phone slipped and fell down as he thought of all the money the latter had used but thinking of his previous suspicions of Rhiannon’s identity that was swayed away by Anabelle’s words, he started becoming suspicious once more.
“If that’s the case. Is it possible for us all to come and spend the night there as we get the next morning to prepare ourselves without wasting time?” Antonio said calmly as his tone carried a bit of excitement but the look in his eyes was serious.
