Chapter 246: She broke down
"Maddy?" Wesley called out worriedly as soon as they entered the bedroom. Madison had been so quiet that it made Wesley concerned.
"I'm okay." Madison said and forced a smile. Even though the smile looked pretty, Wesley could tell that it was fake. This wasn't the Maddy he knew.
"No, you're not." Wesley said and frowned. He wasn't happy at the fact that Madison didn't want to share the burden with him. What did she take him for.
Suddenly;
"I feel so sad. Do you...think I'm a monster?"As Madison said this, she buried her face in Wesley's chest and broke down. She felt so terrible and guilty when she heard what her grandpa had said earlier.
"No, baby. You are not. It's not your fault that those people died." Wesley said gently as he tightened his left arm around her while the right one patted her back gently.
He didn't believe any of those things! Everyone just got their retribution. It had nothing to do with Madison. Those people just didn't want Madison's family around. Wesley didn't care. She was the woman he loved, so he couldn't just watch her cry. He had to stand up for her.
"I'm sorry." Madison said in embarrassment after a long while of crying. She couldn't believe she left traces of snort on his shirt. She knew just how much of a neat freak Wesley was.
"I don't mind. How do you feel now?" Wesley asked as he helped wipe away some tears that were still on her face.
"I'm okay. I want to take a shower." She just wanted to relax.
"Okay, let's go." Wesley held Madison's hand and took her to the bathroom. He helped fill the tub and told her to get in first. He also took off his clothes. Madison didn't know why, but she always felt shy whenever she saw his naked body. She was already used to him!
Wesley chuckled when he saw her reaction before he joined her in the bathtub. He didn't do anything. He just hugged her and caressed her to ease her anxiety and worries. Madison also relaxed and let Wesley do what he intended to do. In the end, she didn't do anything. She watched as Wesley cleaned her up while she just lay relaxed in his arms. It was very comfortable.
The following day, as soon as Masison and Wesley woke up, they found Rowan seated in the living room. He was playing chess by himself. As soon as he saw Madison, his eyes lit up, and he stood up to go greet her.
"Sister!" he exclaimed as he ran over to hug Madison.
Madison caught her in her arms before any accidents could happen.
"Hey, slow down. Don't hurt yourself while running. Isn't your sister here?" Madison teased him . Rowan couldn't care less. He just wanted to be with his sister.
"Okay." Rowan said as he snuggled in her embrace.
Wesley looked at that scene and felt a little uncomfortable. There was too much competition, but there was nothing he could do. Madison liked the brat, so he definitely had to treat him better, lest he made Madison sad.
At the dining table, as they were eating, Grandpa suddenly asked;
"Where are you taking this brat to play?" He was also curious. His grandson had always acted mature. This was the first time he saw him act his age. He wouldn't be thinking of going to the amusement park, would he?
