Chapter 323 Earth-Shattering Reversal

Chapter 323 Earth-Shattering Reversal

James stood off to the side, watching the wavering crowd with a mix of frustration and amusement.

"Honestly, just seeing Thaddeus's face on TV would probably tank the Carter Group," he thought.

"Anyone who calls me a murderer again is gonna lose their tongue!" Thaddeus's voice was cold and menacing.

James edged back toward the doorway. The real drama was about to unfold, and he wanted nothing to do with it.

"Quit trying to scare us. So what if you're from the Carter family? The Carters only own fifty-five percent of the Carter Group. You can't have more than twenty percent!"

Thaddeus smirked and motioned for his men to bring over the share contract.

"Hate to break it to you, but I hold thirty-five percent of the Carter Group's shares. That makes me the biggest shareholder now."

The shareholders were stunned. They checked the documents, and sure enough, it was true. The Carter family collectively held fifty-five percent, with Alexander owning twenty percent, Liliana five percent, and Griffin five percent. The remaining ten percent had always been with Alexander's father. But where did Thaddeus get thirty-five percent?

"How is this possible? How could you have so much?"

"With money, anything's possible. I bought these shares. Is that so hard to believe?"

The room erupted into chaos, with shareholders arguing loudly. James wanted to leave, but felt stuck. Being an assistant was no picnic!

Just as the argument hit its peak, the large screen in the conference room lit up. Alexander, dressed in a sharp suit, appeared on the screen, and the room fell silent.

"It's Mr. Alexander Carter! He's okay!"

The shareholders, who had been considering ousting Alexander, now looked at him like a savior. Alexander's gaze locked onto Thaddeus's, and the tension was palpable.

"Thaddeus, my dear brother, long time no see!"

The word "brother" made Thaddeus clench his fists. When he went to prison, Alexander was only five. Now he had grown up and become the most powerful man in Novaria. But all this glory should have been his.

"Yeah, it's been a while. Surprised to see me?"

Alexander smiled slowly. "Of course. Father has prepared a family dinner. After the meeting, I hope you can come home."

Thaddeus had expected Alexander to try everything to bring him down, but Alexander didn't.

"Aren't you afraid I'll take over the Carter Group?"

Alexander kept smiling. "You forget, the Carter Group was always yours. I've just been managing it for you all these years. Father left you twenty-five percent of the shares. You are the sibling with the most shares in the Carter Group. So, by taking twenty-five percent from Father, you are the largest shareholder, without a doubt!"

"Alexander, do you think saying this will make me return to the Carter family?"

Alexander shook his head. "Whether you return to the Carter family is up to you. The Carter family will always welcome you, anytime, anywhere."

What was expected to be a chaotic scene turned out to be Alexander remaining calm and composed, leaving Thaddeus at a loss.

"You clearly have more shares than I do. Why..."

"Why not take the Carter Group from you? What's mine can't be taken by anyone, and what's not mine, I never hold onto. I don't have any shares in the Carter Group anymore. They've all been transferred to my fiancée. I'm just an employee now, and without a job, I'm just unemployed!"

James couldn't help but chuckle in the corner. Unemployed? Yeah, right!

Thaddeus glared at Alexander, seething but trying to keep his cool. Instead, he forced a smile and said, "Fine. Since Alexander has stepped down, I, Thaddeus, will be the new president of the Carter Group!"

Alexander nodded. With the board's decision made, he no longer needed to be present, so he turned off the video.

James stepped forward, handing all the documents to Thaddeus. "These are all the ongoing projects of the Carter Group. Mr. Carter asked me to organize them for you. Your assistant can come with me for the handover."

Thaddeus hadn't expected Alexander actually to hand over the Carter Group. The news caused a sensation in Skycrest and worldwide. When Thaddeus's face appeared on the screen, the Carter Group's stock plummeted, and shareholders were on the brink of despair.

Meanwhile, Alexander, the instigator, remained carefree in the hospital until...

"Alexander, you little rascal! What do you think the company is? And where is that guy you said would come home?"

Aiden's grumpy voice made Alexander smile.

"Dad, I did what I could. Whether he comes home, I can't guarantee. Besides, Allison already knows about him. Your third son's wife is about to leave. I can't handle his issues anymore!"

Aiden nearly choked but then panicked. "What do we do if Allison leaves? I might as well be dead!"

Hearing the commotion, Liliana came out and was also furious. "Alexander made the decision. I had no say. But Dad, he's the one who made the mistake. Why should the whole family pay for it?"

Liliana was upset. Her daughter was about to take her final exams, and she was about to give birth. Everything was happening at once, and she hadn't slept well in days.

"Liliana, he's your brother!"

Liliana stormed back to her room, and Victor looked at her worriedly. "Liliana, don't get upset. Take care of yourself!"

"Hmph! I don't understand. Do we have to ruin this family to make it up to him? No, we can't stay here any longer. Mia has exams soon. Pack up, we're going home!"

Victor nodded. The Carter family was too chaotic right now. It was better to move back home, closer to the hospital.

Before they finished packing, Thaddeus returned home. Aiden sat upright, his eyes fixed on his eldest son.

Twenty-three years had passed. Aiden had gone from a spirited man to an old one, and Thaddeus had turned from a reckless youth to a middle-aged man with a gloomy face.

"You look well. I see you've been waiting for me."

Aiden snorted. "Twenty-three years, Thaddeus. I've waited here for you for twenty-three years, but I never thought that when you came back, the family would be in shambles. Thaddeus, you bear the Voss name, a name you've hated for so long. But have you ever thought that Voss is your mother's name? She gave you life. You are the eldest son, and the Voss family should be yours to inherit!"
