Natalie was on her lunch break when she received a call from an unknown number. At first, she wanted to ignore it, but after thinking that it might be something important, she answered the call.
“Hello, Dr. Hart speaking.”
The other person asked in a confused tone after hearing that, “Dr. Hart? Did I get the wrong number?”
Natalie heard it and asked, “Uhm, sir, who are you looking for? Maybe you got the wrong number.”
“Oh, I am looking for my daughter, Natalie, but it seems as if that brat gave me the wrong number on purpose.”
Natalie’s heart skipped a beat. “Who did you say you were looking for?”
“My daughter, Natalie. I am so sorry, miss, I think that I got the wrong number. Sorry for bothering you and wasting your time.”
The more she heard the voice, the more Natalie felt like it was familiar.
After a quick search in her memory, she finally remembered who the voice belonged to. She held her mouth to avoid startling her colleagues as she screamed out, “Uncle Leo, is that you?”
It was Leo’s turn to be dumbfounded. He cleared his throat and asked, “Do you know who I am? I thought it was a wrong number.”
“No, Uncle, you got the right number. I am Natalie, your Nat!”
Leo burst into a fist of laughter after hearing that. “Oh, Natalie, it's really you. How have you been, dear? And did you just call yourself a doctor earlier?”
Natalie rubbed her nose sheepishly, “Uhm, Uncle Leo, I have been well, and I am indeed a doctor. I… I am a heart surgeon.”
“Wow, that is wonderful. But your uncle is not really happy?”
“What happened, Uncle? Are you feeling alright? Should I come and check up on you?”
“I am fine, I am fine. I am just sad that you stopped caring about me. I mean, you are back in Sterling City, but you never bothered to look for me, so I guess I really meant nothing to you.”
Natalie was flabbergasted after hearing that. She indeed had totally forgotten about Leo and the way he had always been kind to her.
She scratched his head and apologized, “I am sorry, Uncle, a lot of things have been happening since I came back that I haven’t even had time to look for you. How about I treat you to dinner tonight? I can introduce my family to you.”
“Oh, you have a family?”
Natalie nodded, her eyes turning gentle, and the thought of her daughter and husband, “Yeah, I have a husband and a daughter. I would love you to meet them.”
“Okay, peanut. I have some business to attend to, and once I am done, I will let you know.”
“Okay, uncle, take your time.”
After hanging up, Natalie quickly sent a text to Sean, “We will eat out tonight. There is someone I want to introduce you to. He really took care of me while I was growing up, and he is like a father figure to me.”
“Okay,” Sean replied almost immediately.

Leo was in deep thought after his call with Natalie.
So, Natalie had remarried, and she even had a daughter? Well, his son definitely lost out.
Natalie is a good girl, so she deserves the best, and as for him, when he finally realizes what he truly lost because of his useless ego, it will be too late.
“Let us go to Horizon Group. Let’s see what this Boardroom Beast is truly made of.”
Colin looked at his boss, who was busy looking at his phone with a goofy smile, and cleared his throat, “Boss, the chairman of the Thompson Group is coming over, and he requests to meet with you.”
“Does he have an appointment?” Sean asked even without lifting his face.
“Yes, but you were supposed to meet with his son, Jason. I guess he came on his behalf.”
“Hmm.”
The Thompson family, huh!
Yesterday, that bastard harassed his wife, and now his father is here for business. Looks like his temper has been really good lately.
When Leo arrived, Sean did not go to see him right away. He was ‘busy’ attending an online meeting, and the meeting only had him and his wife.
It was only after like thirty minutes that he slowly got up from his chair and headed to the meeting room.
He apologized with a straight face, “Sorry for keeping you waiting. I had last minute conference call that needed my attention.”
Leo studied him carefully and nodded his head. He never knew that the Boardroom Beast would be so young. He was older than Jason, maybe by just a year or two. Well, they always said the young would surpass the old, and guess they were right about that.
“It is okay, Mr. B…”
“Just call me Mr. Cole, that would be fine.”
“Thank you, Mr. Cole, for agreeing to see me. I know that you are a busy man, so I would just go straight to the point.”
“Okay, let us get started.”
Leo was a seasoned businessman, and he knew people like Sean did not like to beat around the bush.
The moment he saw him, he realized that this was someone who knew exactly what he wanted, and every decision he made had to be thoroughly considered.
Well, he wouldn’t have his title as the boardroom beast without any merits.
If his son were even a fraction of this man, then the Thompson Group would have already entered the international market.
“Mr. Cole, I am sure you have heard of the Thompson Group. Well, we are not bad in business; it is just that we have run into some problems lately, which is why I am here to kindly ask for your support. One contract from you, and we will be back on our feet. You can name your price.”
“Mr. Thompson, you really haven’t done your assignment, have you?”
“What do you mean?”
“What if I said that I wanted to swallow the Thompson Group and leave it with nothing? What would you do about it?”
“What do you mean?” Leo asked in a confused voice.
“Think about it,” Sean said, a sly smile dancing on his lips.
Leo thought of something, and his eyes widened in shock. “Wait, are you behind everything that has been happening to my company?”
Sean looked at him without answering, but the silence said it all.
“But why?”
“Well, I am just helping my wife vent her anger, plus, I don’t really like that spoilt brat of yours!”
