Chapter 44 chapter 44

Chapter 44 chapter 44

Chapter 44

“Who is there?” Everyone turned around, including Vivian.

The moment she laid her eyes on Natalie, her expression changed.

How did she come so fast? Didn’t she tell those people to stall her? What a bunch of losers!

Natalie walked straight to her, and before anyone could react, they felt the sound of flesh being torn apart.

Natalie used all her strength to land a few hot slaps on Vivian, and by the time she was done, she felt her hand turn numb.

She looked at Vivian with a chilly gaze. Her voice sounded as if it had just come from the pits of hell as she questioned, “Who were you about to slap just now, huh?”

Vivian never imagined that Natalie would slap her the moment she arrived. She hadn’t even laid a finger on her daughter, so how dare she slap her and humiliate her in front of the entire school?

“You, how dare you slap me when I have done nothing wrong. I was trying to teach your mannerless daughter a lesson, and you dared to slap me? I see, like mother, like daughter.”

Vivian’s voice brought everyone back to their senses.

The parents looked at Natalie and sneered, “Why did you slap Mrs. Thompson, huh? She was helping you discipline your bastard daughter, and you dared lay your hands on her?”

“Now we understand why the daughter has no manners. With a mother like her, I bet she wouldn’t even finish elementary school.”

Natalie was about to teach the women insulting her and Jojo a lesson, but Sean, who had just entered, stopped her right on time.

“They are not worth your energy, honey. Check on our daughter, and I will help you deal with them.”

Natalie had been so angry after seeing that Vivian almost slapped her daughter that she had almost forgotten to check on her.

She crouched down and hugged Jojo. Her face was pale, and she was barely hanging on.

Natalie’s eyes widened in shock, and her heart ached. She never expected that her daughter would be injured after trying to protect her all these years.

Maybe it wasn’t really a good idea to return to Sterling City.

“What happened?”

Seeing that her parents had finally arrived, Jojo could no longer hold it in. She looked at her mother and murmured, before she fainted, “Mommy, I did not steal anything.”

“Jojo!” Natalie cried out.

The teacher looked at her and spoke, “She hit her head on the desk, and there was a little blood earlier. I don’t know how badly she injured herself.”

Natalie carried Jojo in her arms and faced the principal, “Where is the school infirmary? My daughter is injured, and she needs immediate medical attention.”

The principal was about to say something, but one look from Vivian and he swallowed hard.

Seeing that he was still stalling, Natalie’s voice chilled even further, “Principal Carl, I don’t think that you can bear the consequences if anything were to happen to my baby.”

“And who do you think you are scaring?” Vivian sneered. She was not going to let Natalie get away until she was taught a lesson.

Sean narrowed his eyes. He looked at everyone in the room, his eyes so sharp that no one dared maintain eye contact, “So, all of you decided to gang up on a little girl and bully her? For what reason?”

The parents did not know Sean’s true identity. In their eyes, he looked just like a common man with no power or influence. After the initial tension, a parent finally spoke up.

“Your daughter is a thief, and she has to be taught a lesson. If you had taught her well, she wouldn’t have done that.”

“And I don’t really think that she is seriously injured. I guess that it is just a ploy to get herself out of trouble.”

“Yes, they must have planned it. She pretended to faint so that she could not be held accountable.”

“I think that this whole family deserves an award for being the best actors.”

Sean was trying so hard to hold his anger back. He looked at each one of them, and his gaze lingered on Vivian’s face for a few seconds before it shifted to the school principal, “Are you accusing my daughter of stealing? Did any of you see her take that trash?”

“What? Is this man insane? He dares call that limited edition drawing book trash?”

“Haha, I bet that he is so powerful that he has never even seen a real drawing book in his life.”

Vivian knew that everyone was on her side, so she was not afraid. After all the saga, she would just throw a cheque at the principal, and everything would be solved.

She moved forward and challenged Sean, “How else do you explain how my son’s stuff got into your child’s bag? Are you saying that we are framing your daughter on purpose?”

Sean looked at her and nodded, “Thank you for reminding me of something.” He looked at the principal and commanded, “Get the footage from this class pulled up; that is the only thing that will tell us the truth. If my daughter is guilty, then I will see to it that she is properly punished, but if someone is framing her…”

Sean did not finish the statement, but everyone could feel his murderous aura. Looks like he would go to any length to get justice for her daughter.”

Hearing about the footage, Vivian’s face turned pale, “Footage, what? This class has CCTV cameras?”

The principal nodded, “Yes, Mrs. Thompson, every class has CCTV cameras installed in them. I think this would be fair. It would be easier for the school to get rid of that thief.”

“No!” Vivian shouted. If they showed that footage, then she would be done for, because the truth would be revealed.

“Mrs. Thompson, you don’t have to be afraid. With the footage, it would be evident that Jojo stole Jayden’s stuff, and we will have every reason to suspend her.”

Vivian looked at the principal and shook her head at him. It was like she was sending a clear warning that if he dared pull up that footage, then he would be done for.

How could the principal not know what was going on?

He scratched his nose and spoke in an apologetic tone, “I am sorry, but I can’t fulfill your request. The cameras in the class were damaged a few days ago, and we are yet to recover them.”

Vivian heaved a sigh of relief. Good thing the principal was smart.

She looked at Natalie and acted like an understanding parent, “Natalie, there is no point in blowing up this matter. You can just have your daughter apologize to my son. And if she needs anything, she can just ask for it instead of stealing.”
