Chapter 42 chapter 42
Chapter 42
At Jojo’s school, just as the kids were about to leave school, Jayden stood up and shouted as he pointed at Jojo, “She is a thief. She does not deserve to be in this school.”
The students and even the teacher were stunned. Some parents who had already arrived to pick up their kids looked on in shock.
The teacher went over and held Jayden. She lowered her voice and asked, “Jayden, what are you talking about? What did Jojo steal from you?”
Jayden was already crying as he shouted, “She stole my drawing book and my paints. My mom bought it for me yesterday, and Jojo is the only person I showed it to. But when I checked my bag right now, I couldn’t find it.”
Jojo’s eyes were wide in shock. When did she even steal?
The parents, even without listening to Jojo, started to demand that the school expel her.
“This school has really become a village market. Why would the principal admit a pupil with such vile behavior? Why would her parents bring her here if they couldn’t even afford to buy her a drawing book?”
The teacher looked at Jojo, who was all calm, and then at Jayden, who was wailing as if he had just lost a finger.
The parents were already making matters worse, and if this matter was not solved properly, it might affect the school’s reputation.
She stood in front of the class and addressed everyone, “Parents, students, please calm down. This is a serious matter, and we cannot take it lightly.”
Jayden looked at his teacher, and his eyes widened. He cried even harder as he spoke, “Teacher, are you saying that I am lying?”
The teacher shook her head, “No, Jayden, I did not say that you are lying, but we’ve only heard your side of the story, and to be fair, we also need to listen to what Jojo has to say.”
“Teacher, are you going to listen to a thief? She has been coveting my things ever since she came to this school. Every time Mommy gave me something nice, she would always look at it with admiration. So, I am certain that she was the one who stole my drawing book and my paints.”
“Jayden, calm down. We need to be fair and listen to both sides of the story. Did you by any chance see Jojo steal your things? It is not good to accuse anyone without any proof. That will make you a good person.”
Jojo walked over and spoke to the teacher, “Teacher Grace, I did not steal anything. My mommy said that stealing is bad, and someone might end up in prison.”
Teacher Grace had a good impression of Jojo, so she believed her. There was no way Jojo would have stolen Jayden’s drawing book and paints. Maybe it was all just a misunderstanding.
“Jojo, I know that you are a good girl.”
Hearing that, Jayden lay down and started to throw his legs around. It took a lot of effort from the teacher to calm him down.
“Teacher, if you don’t believe me, then check her bag and her locker. If I am lying, then I will apologize, but if I am telling the truth, Jojo must be expelled.”
The parents nodded and echoed Jayden’s words, “Teacher Grace, you know that kids this age rarely lie. Maybe this girl really stole his things. You should check her bag, and then everyone will find out the truth.”
Jojo looked at Jayden with a dumbfounded expression. Her little brain told her that something was definitely going on.
She has been friends with Jayden since the very first day she joined this school, and they shared almost everything. Why would he turn against her and accuse her of theft out of the blue?
Something fishy was definitely going on.
She went to Jayden and held his hand, “Jayden, what are you even talking about? When did I ever steal your drawing book and paints? Haven’t we always been good friends, so why would I steal from you?”
When Jojo touched him, Jayden felt as if he had been electrocuted, and he quickly pushed Jojo away. Jojo lost her balance and landed on the floor. Her small head hit the table, and she yelped out in pain.
Jayden’s expression turned pale. No, he was not meant to hurt Jojo.
The teacher went to Jojo and picked her up. She looked at Jayden and slightly raised her voice, “Jayden, why did you push her? What if she got hurt, huh?”
Jayden shook his head, “I did not push her. She fell on her own. Don’t blame me. Maybe she is just pretending because she does not want her things to be searched.”
Some of the parents sneered, “She is such a small child, but she can already put on such acts. What would become of her when she grows up?”
“The teacher should call her parents to school. I can’t let my child share the same class with someone who has no morals.”
“Yes, her parents should be summoned to school immediately.”
Jojo was feeling immense pain in her head, but she still managed to weakly say, “I am not a thief, I did not steal anything.”
Just then, a voice was heard at the door. Vivian entered with a haughty attitude like owned the school, and demanded, “What is going on here?”
The moment Jayden heard his mother’s voice, he rushed to her. He hugged her leg and pointed at Jojo, “Mommy, you won’t believe what just happened. But that girl actually stole my drawing book and my paints. I reported to the teacher, but she refused to check her things. She is clearly siding with her.”
“What?” Vivian revealed a shocked expression.
She walked to the teacher, her presence overwhelming before she questioned, “Who dared to steal from my son? Do you know who he is? Do you know who I am?”
How could the teacher not know who Vivian was?
She trembled as she tried to explain, “Mrs. Thompson, I think there has been a huge misunderstanding. Jojo is a good girl, and there is no way she could take someone’s stuff without their permission.”
Vivian raised her hand and slapped the teacher. “Are you calling my son a liar? Are you trying to imply that the heir to the Thompson group is actually lying?”
The teacher held her burning cheek and shook her head, “No… I…”
Vivian looked at her and sneered, “I have already called the principal here. If you don’t want your ass to be on the line, then you better do the right thing.”
The parents were stunned after learning Vivian’s true identity. Now, they were certain that Jayden was telling the truth.
“So, this girl is really a thief, yet she acts all innocent.”
“Hah, I would love to see just how a slut her mom looks like.”
