Chapter 31 chapter 31
Chapter 31
“Natalie, you? What are you doing here?” Vivian asked. Her face had already turned pale, and her hands shook.
Natalie frowned and asked, “Shouldn’t I be asking you the same question? What the hell are you doing in my house?”
“I…”
Before Vivian could say anything, a woman’s voice was heard inside the living room. “Viv, who rang the doorbell just now?”
Natalie tried to peek inside, but Vivian was blocking her view. Natalie was confused. She thought that her father might have sold their house without telling her.
Vivian did not know what to say after hearing her mom. She never expected that Natalie would show up here unannounced before she even had time to talk to her parents.
She had rushed here to inform her parents that Natalie was back in the city, but she never expected that Natalie would show up just a few minutes after her.
Seeing that Vivian was not getting out of the way, Natalie stared at her and spoke in an impatient voice, “Vivian, what are you doing here? You still haven’t answered my question. Did my dad sell this house to you?”
“I…” Vivian opened and closed her mouth like a fish that had been brought out of the water, but still, no word came out. She had no idea what to say.
“Vivian, I don’t know what you are doing here. If you have nothing to say, then move out of my way.”
Vivian did not barge as her mind worked at a terrifying speed. If she allowed Natalie to enter this house, then everything would be over. She had to first mentally prepare her parents. Now was not the time for Natalie to find out anything.
“Natalie, I… actually, you are right. I bought this house from your father. He said that he felt lonely after your mom’s death, and since you were not around, he decided to put this house up for sale. I thought that you already knew.”
Natalie looked at Vivian with a dubious expression. This was the Hart’s family ancestral home, and there was no way her father would sell it just like that.
Although they haven’t spoken in years, there was no way he would have sold the house without informing her.
She stared at Vivian, and her voice turned cold, “Vivian, do you take me for a fool?”
“I…”
Vivian looked at her watch, and she became impatient. It was almost time for her father to leave, and if he bumped into Natalie, everything would be over.
Before Natalie discovered anything, and before Dr. Tyron knew that his daughter had stopped by, she had to send her away.
After thinking through, Vivian’s expression lit up.
She looked at Natalie, and her expression changed, “Natalie, what are you doing here? I would suggest you leave now before I call the cops and report you for trespassing.”
“Trespassing? What are you talking about?” Natalie frowned.
Vivian nodded as she regained her composure, “Natalie, I have already told you that I am now the rightful owner of this property. Your father sold it to me, but you insist on forcing yourself in. If that is not trespassing, then what is it?”
Natalie stared at Vivian in disbelief, “Are you out of your fucking mind? This is my house, so I have every right to enter.”
“It was your house, but not anymore. Leave now before I lose my temper and call the cops.”
Natalie looked on and felt that something was right.
She could still remember Vivian’s shocked and tensed expression when she opened the door and saw her. And now that she was flipping things around and talking nonsense, Natalie felt like something was definitely going on, and she had to find out what it was.
She also knew that there was no way her father would have sold this house without even informing her.
And Vivian’s sudden change in attitude was also very suspicious.
“Vivian, I don’t know what you are doing in my house, but you will let me in whether you want it or not. You can go ahead and call the cops if you want, since they will help me understand whatever is going on.”
“You…” Vivian was stunned. She had only mentioned calling the police in order to scare Natalie and make her leave. But it looks like this woman was not easy to fool.
She racked her brain, but before she could come up with anything, her mother was already at the door.
She was also stunned at the sight of Natalie, but unlike her daughter, she did not see the need to hide anything.
Her expression was one of mockery as she spoke, “Who else could it be if not Natalie, Clara’s daughter?”
Natalie looked at the woman and frowned. She knew her, and she even knew her mom. Looking at her face, she kind of resembled Vivian, so the two must be related.
Natalie stared at the woman and asked, “Who are you? And why are you in my house? How do you know my mom and me? I don’t recall ever meeting you in the past.”
“Who am I?” Sophia laughed. She pointed at herself and sneered, “I am your mother, of course.”
Natalie was confused, and she could not understand what the woman was talking about. “My mom, what do you mean?”
“I…”
Sophia was about to say something, but Vivian stopped her in time, “Mom, that is enough. You can go back into the house. I will handle this.”
“Mom?” The frown on Natalie’s face deepened. As far as she could remember, Vivian was an orphan, at least that was what Jason had told her when he brought her back from Northveil City. So, how did she suddenly have a mother now?
“Vivian, what is there to be afraid of. She would find out the truth sooner or later anyway. You can as well save her the trouble.”
Natalie pointed at Sophia and questioned, “What is going on here? What is she talking about?”
“Natalie, I…”
“Where is everyone?” A man’s voice was heard in the living room, and Natalie immediately recognized it.
‘Wasn’t that her father’s voice?’
Before Vivian or Sophia could say anything, Natalie pushed them aside and entered the house.
She found Tyron talking to a servant, asking about Vivian’s whereabouts.
Natalie stood in front of him and demanded, “Dad, what the hell is going on here?”
