Chapter 30 chapter 30
Chapter 30
Natalie held Jojo’s hand as she walked her to class, “Baby, it has been a week already since you joined your new school. How is it? Do you like it here?”
Jojo smiled, and her eyes turned into crescents. She looked as cute as an AI-generated doll, and people could not stop staring at her. “Mommy, I love it here. All my classmates are very nice to me, and I have also made a lot of new friends.”
“That is good, my darling. Mommy is happy to hear that you are adjusting just fine. Always be good to others, and if anyone bullies you, don’t hesitate to tell me or daddy, okay.”
“Okay, mommy.”
Jojo looked at her mother and smiled cheekily, “Mommy, can I tell you a secret? Although Daddy warned me not to say anything.”
“What is it? Are you guys hiding something from me?”
“No… actually, for the few times daddy has come to school, he has become very popular. Everyone, especially my classmates, is so envious that I have such a handsome daddy. Some of them usually cling to him and insist on calling him daddy.”
Hearing that, Natalie did not know whether to laugh or cry. She knew that Sean was very handsome, the kind who made her feel both insecure and proud.
She tickled Jojo’s arm and said, “What are you saying? You should concentrate on your studies, okay.”
Natalie turned to the corner leading to Jojo’s class. Just then, she bumped into someone she hadn’t expected to see.
Vivian looked at her as if she had just seen a ghost. Her face paled, and her lips trembled.
Since that day, she hadn’t seen Natalie again, and she finally convinced herself that she was just having an illusion the other time. Who would have thought that they would finally bump into each other?
And the little girl holding Natalie’s hand? Wasn’t she the same girl with Sean the other day?
Wait, could Sean and Natalie be husband and wife, and they even have a child together?
But looking at Jojo, she was almost the same age as Jayden. Vivian never knew that she could be so quick at calculation as she was right now.
If she were right about Jojo’s age, then she would be around four or five years, just about the time Natalie left after her divorce from Jason.
If Jojo was really Natalie’s daughter, then there was a possibility that she was also Jason’s daughter, unless Natalie had moved on really fast and gotten pregnant by another man.
The thought of Natalie’s daughter being Jason’s child sent a chill down Vivian’s spine, and her face lost all its color.
No, she would never let Jason know, because the moment he found out that Natalie had his child, he would disregard everything and run back to her.
So, whether Jojo was Jason’s child or not, she was not going to give Jason a chance to find out.
In fact, …
I just mere two minutes, so many thoughts passed through Vivian’s mind, and she thought that she was going crazy.
No wonder when she saw this girl for the first time, she thought that she looked somewhat familiar. Turns out she took after her mom.
But how did Natalie manage to bring her daughter to such a school? It was not like she was still the Hart’s family heiress anymore.
Besides, she had been away for more than four years, so what connections did she use to get into this school?
This was not an ordinary school that anyone could just get into. Could Sean have helped her? But that man was not even rich. After she left him, she heard that he ditched his business and joined a medical school to become a doctor, so how much money could he possibly have that he could afford such a school?
Natalie was stunned to see Vivian, but it was only for a split second before her expression returned to normal.
Since she was back in Sterlin City, it was inevitable that she would bump into her enemies, but she had not expected it to be so soon.
She wondered if this woman had successfully managed to marry Jason after she had left the city.
She wanted to say something, but after thinking for a while, she only looked at Vivian as if she was seeing her for the first time and walked past her.
What was the point in pretending to be nice? The woman had wrecked her marriage, and although those two deserved to be together, Natalie wouldn’t just let them go like that.
Vivian only came to her senses after Natalie vanished from her sight. Her mind cleared, and her heart started to beat at a normal rate again.
She looked on, and a devilish smile appeared on her face, “Natalie… Natalie, you will soon realize that you made the biggest mistake of your life when you decided to come back to Sterlin City. Things would have been better if you had stayed away.”
“Hmm, I have worked so hard to finally snatch everything from you, and I am not going to give you even a tiny chance to reclaim anything. In fact, I am going to make your life miserable so that you will have no choice but to crawl back from whichever hole you crawled out of.”
“Before Jason finds out anything, I am going to make sure that you disappear from our lives completely.”
After settling Jojo in her class, Natalie left. Today, she was going to visit her old home and see if she could finally reopen her mom’s case. She was not going to rest until she made sure that her mom got the justice she deserved.
On her way to the Hart family mansion, Natalie kept replaying the scenes that happened a few years ago when her mom died.
The police report indicated that the car crash was caused by failed brakes. The driver somehow miraculously survived, but her mom did not make it.
She was shocked and broken, and she could not believe that her mom was gone just like that.
She never set foot in the Hart mansion, because before her mother died, they were not on good terms with her father, but her mother couldn’t tell her the exact reason.
She just said that something happened that completely changed her father, and before she could find answers to her questions, her mother mysteriously died.
No matter what it took, Natalie was definitely going to uncover the truth.
She arrived home in no time, but Natalie was shocked after seeing the face of the person who opened the door for her.
“You!”
