(Freya's POV).
I got out of bed as I heard the doorbell keep ringing, followed by irregular knocking. With my head still feeling dizzy, I occasionally walked while holding onto anything my hands could reach.
"Yes, wait!"I exclaimed when I heard the knocking getting louder and more impatient.
I gasped in shock when I saw Devan behind the door as I opened it. I frantically tried to close the door again, but Devan's hands and feet were already holding the door.
My face paled as he pushed the door with all his strength. I darted backward to avoid him as he started to go inside and closed the door roughly.
"What do you want? Why did you come here!" I shouted. I almost fell over as I kept stepping backward and didn't notice the ramp behind me. I tried to stand up straight, keeping my distance from Devan who kept approaching me.
"I came to pick you up."
"You're crazy!" I shouted. "I told you to stop bothering me!"
My fear was replaced by anger. How could he so calmly come here and say he wanted to pick me up? After all the bad things he had done to me?
"Don't you realize what you've done to me, Dev?! You killed my brother. You ruined my life. And now you casually come to pick me up?" I shouted.
To add to my shock, he looked at me expressionlessly. Like he didn't care about anything that had happened.
"I didn't kill him. How many times do I have to tell you?"
"Yes, you killed him." I pointed at his face with my finger, hatred in my eyes as I stared at him. "And don't you dare think I'll forgive everything, Dev. I won't!"
"Freya..."
"Leave me alone!" I snapped. "Get out of here and never bother me again!"
"No, I won't if it's not with you"
"You think I'm going to get back together with you?" I glare at him. "I want us to get a divorce. Hear that? Divorced!"
"We'll never get divorced, Freya," he insisted.
I widened my eyes. I pulled my hand away as he tried to touch me.
"Don't dare you to touch me," I hissed, "and I don't care if you agree to it or not, I still want us to get divorced."
"Don't try too hard, Fey. Because it will never work."
"What do you want, huh?!" I shouted. "Does seeing Theo dead not make your grudge go away? Must you destroy my life too?" I felt both my hands trembling, even my voice as I spoke.
I felt my eyes heat up and my tears just fell. I saw him looking at me with his dark eyes. I didn't understand why he was acting like this.
He told me that he hated me. He married me out of revenge. Now that Theo was gone, what else did he want from me?
"I beg you. Please don't bother me anymore. I don't have a family anymore. My life is ruined... stop hurting me, Dev. I can't take this anymore...." I bit my lower lip. My tears broke, I felt like a wave in the sea that was tossed around. Fate didn't seem to want to see me happy.
I groaned as dizziness attacked my head again.
"Fey, what's wrong? "I felt Devan's hand grabbing me, but I quickly pushed myself away.
"Don't pretend to care about me. And stop touching me," I snapped.
"You're sick. Your face is pale."
"And you just realized it?" I looked at him sharply. "I'm like this because of you, Dev. You hurt me!"
At that moment, I heard my cell phone ringing in the room. I tried to run to my room, hoping it was Jason and I could ask him for help. But just as I was about to reach for my cell phone, Devan grabbed it first.
"Dev, give it to me! Give me back my phone!" I shouted. I tried to snatch my phone from his hand, but he deliberately lifted it into the air so I couldn't reach it because it was too high. "Damn! What the hell are you doing?!"
"How far along are you with Jason? Are you starting to love him?" he asked.
I furrowed my brow. "What are you asking for? It's none of your business."
"It's my business because you're still my wife, Freya."
I smiled wryly. "Since when do you consider me your wife? Aren't you ashamed of what you did to me?"
He was silent. Making me feel annoyed by his passivity.
"I've already filed our divorce. It's just a matter of getting it processed and we're no longer husband and wife," I insist. I can see the change in expression on his face. "Give me back my cell phone!"
He turned off my phone and threw it on the bed. I turned my head towards the bed, gasping in shock as I felt his arms wrap around my waist. Pulling my body into his embrace.
"We'll never get divorced, Freya. And don't expect me to get away from you."
"You've gone crazy, Dev! You've gone completely Crazy!"
He grins. "Yes, I am already crazy. And it's all because of you, Freya. So, take responsibility and come back home with me."
"No no no!" I yelled as he pulled my hand out of the room. "No, Dev! I don't want to! You can't force me!"
"I canー"
"I don't love you anymore! Do you hear me? I don't love you anymore. I hate you!" I exclaimed.
He glanced at me with his sharp gaze. "I don't care."
I tried to rebel as he led me out of the room. He pulled me like a dog. I whimpered in pain, in my hands and my head. It was throbbing, the pain in my head like a sledgehammer I felt constantly.
I felt my voice disappear as my vision began to blur. My legs felt weak, and I swayed to the side. Devan caught me quickly. Hugging me with panic on his face.
Before everything went dark, the last thing I heard was Devan cursing.
"Freya! Damn it!"
