(Devan's POV).
I looked back and saw a man of maybe 23 or 24 years old calling out to Freya. Something inside me suddenly feels uncomfortable, something that makes me unhappy.
"Freya, are you okay?" he asked. I immediately stood beside Freya and took her hand. He immediately widened his eyes as if surprised by the action I had taken with Freya.
Who is this bastard again?
I've gone too crazy looking for Freya's whereabouts and now when I've found her there's another annoying fly?
"Harry, I..."
"Who is he?" I demanded sternly.
I looked at Freya and she immediately turned her face away from me while letting go of my hand. She simply ignored me and stepped closer to him.
"Harry, I'm sorry but canー"
"Is he bothering you?" he asked.
I chuckled. "Bothering?"
Freya glanced at me briefly before she looked back at the man Freya called Harry.
"Harry, I'm fine. I was just talking to..."
"But your face doesn't look fine. Who is he? I've never seen him. Tell me if he's trying to interfere." He walked over.
I growl in annoyance at his words and walk closer to Freya. "Stay away and don't interfere," I said as I wrapped my arms around Freya's body from behind. "Even if you still want to liveー"
"Devan, stop!" cut in Freya as she snapped. "Please behave yourself." she looked up, giving me an annoyed look. And she quickly removed my hand from her.
I don't know what Freya's relationship with that guy is like. But it upset me. I'm jealous because it's only been a month since we separated and Freya has already found another man. I should have found Freya sooner because I knew there would be annoying flies always appearing around her.
"Harry, I'm fine. And I know him," Freya said. It looked like she was trying to calm him down. And it annoyed me even more that Freya had her back turned and wasn't looking at me at all.
"Did you find another man after a month of separation from me?" I asked her bluntly.
Freya immediately turned to me with her eyes bulging. "What are you talking about? Don't be crazy, Devan!" she exclaimed, exasperated.
"Then who is this snot-nosed boy? Why is he acting like he's your boyfriend?"
"That's not even your business. And stop being rude!"
"Freya..."
"Dev, stop touching me!" she shouted as she brushed my hand away roughly.
"Hey, Dude! Please don't be rude to her!" He snapped at me. He stepped forward and stood right in front of me with an angry expression on his face. Meanwhile, Freya quickly pulled his body away.
"Stay out of our business and get out of here!" I scolded him.
"I'm not taking one step away. You think I'd let Freya be alone with a brute like you?"
I growled in annoyance as he continued to stare at me with his piercing eyes while his hands were clenched into fists. I feel so angry as Freya's hand continues to grip his wrist.
"Shit!" I cursed, "Can you stop touching him?!" I called out to Freya and immediately pulled Freya's hand away from her.
"Dev, what the hell are you doing!"
"I hate seeing you close to other men. Can't you see that?" I gripped both her hands. I stared at her intently. I could feel her body trembling.
For four years I've been frantically searching for Freya's whereabouts. I didn't know if she was alive or dead, but I never gave up looking for her. Even if it was her dead body, I wanted to find her.
Then I suddenly met Vivian, who I had only recently learned was Freya. And now, after a month of painstakingly searching for her whereabouts and finding her, there was no way I could just let her go. Let alone let her be taken by another man.
"We don't have any relationship anymore, Dev. And please don't cross your boundaries," she said as she brushed my hand away.
"Freya...."
"Didn't you hear what she said? That means he's telling you to leave and not bother her anymore," Harry said.
"Shut your mouth. And stop meddling in our business!" I snapped at him. My veins tightened and my hands clenched into fists. I would have lost control if it weren't for Freya.
"I had to intervene because it concerns Freya. I don't know what your relationship is, but I don't like seeing Freya get hurt. So you better get out of here before I call the police."
I laughed out loud at his words. How could a snot-nosed kid like her piss me off so much with just her annoying remarks? Freya even kept quiet without commenting, while every time I tried to attack her, Freya would always scold me.
"You're really pissing me off," I growled.
"No, Dev." Freya quickly restrained me. "Harry, can you get out of here? I'll see you later. And I'm sorry that I can't go to the party with you," she said.
"Wh-What? How could I just leave you with this guy?!"
"I'm fine. He won't hurt me. So, please ... Can you leave us alone? I'll call you, later."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Please..."
"Alright," he said.
As he walks away from us, I continue to cast my glare at him. Until I feel Freya's hand tighten around my wrist and I look up at her.
"Freya," I called out.
"You're crazy," she scolded, "do you have to be rude to him like that?!"
"He started it first. And stop defending him, Freya. I don't like it!"
"Follow me!" he suddenly grabbed my hand and led me away from there.
