Chapter 39 There’s no going back now…
Daniel
Ever since Lila and I got intimate, I’ve not been able to get her out of my head. She has taken the whole space in my head and no matter how hard I try to get her out, it just doesn’t work.
This morning, I woke up thinking about her and that pushed me to rush into the shower, thinking I could wash away the thoughts. Well, I was wrong, it got worse and I had to rush my shower. I was all ready for work in no time and I intentionally skipped breakfast to avoid her. I knew she would join me and I wasn’t sure how I was going to act around her.
“What the heck is wrong with you? She’s not the first woman you’ve been with so why is it so special this time?” A voice had questioned me while I drove to the office this morning.
And it’s true. I’ve been with so many women that I’ve lost count and it’s never anything special or different about them. We just do our thing and I forget all about it the next minute I’m out of there.
But with Lila, it’s so different. I keep thinking about her and seeing her face every where I look.
The last time I felt this way was with Eleanor and yet, it still feels different. After she passed, I was so sure I would ever get to that place with love again. She had all my heart and took it with her. Well, that was what I thought until Lila came into the picture.
I’ve been suspecting my heart around her but that sex changed everything. At least, before then I was able to control myself around her. Now it’s all changed and that’s the last thing I want.
I can’t let her have so much control over me. That’s why I decided to go out with her. I’m going to deal with this weird feelings once and for all and get my control back.
The day went by in a hurry at work. I made sure to bury myself in work so I had no time to be distracted by my thoughts. I didn’t even take lunch break or any break at all.
By the time I was done in the evening, I was so famished that when I stood up, I almost fell back.
“Ohhh, I’ve got to get some food in me.” I muttered under my breath.
It was thirty minutes to seven then. I texted Lila and asked her to send her address which she did in a jiffy.
I was supposed to send the driver but I kicked against it last minute, got in the car, and drove straight to the address.
“I’m outside,” I said over the phone.
“What? You?” Lila stuttered and in a few minutes, I saw the door open and she hurried towards the car.
Her friend stayed back at the door, staring in my direction. The car was tinted so she couldn’t see me but I was observing her face the whole time.
“Heyy,” Lila said softly when she got in.
“I was expecting the driver, didn’t know you were coming yourself.” She added.
“Yeah, I was done with work so I decided to come myself.” I explained.
“Are you okay though? You look like you’re holding something in.” She replied and she was right.
I was trying to avoid her face and I don’t even know why.
What did this girl do to me? She doesn’t even look like it so why am I so smitten by her?
Those were the thoughts that fought in my head as I drove off. We finally got to the beach but my plan flopped. Apparently, a fight broke out earlier and the party had been called off.
“Wow, what do we do now?” Lila asked while I tried to suppress my anger.
That party was my ticket out of this weird feelings that has taken all over me. It was organized in a way that lovers get clarity and able to put their emotions in check. I was really banking on sorting out my head and heart tonight.
“Guess that’s not going to happen anymore now,” I let out and didn’t realize I was thinking out loud until I saw her stare at me weirdly.
“What was that?” She asked while I shrugged.
“Sorry, that was supposed to stay in my head. I think we should go home then, that was all I had for tonight.” I said disappointedly.
“Well, we don’t have to go home though. We could just go over there, away from the people and enjoy the cold night. We can walk around the water, talk or just enjoy the silence.” She suggested.
“I guess that’s good then. We are here already after all.” I said and that was what we did.
We walked away from the people and went to the other side where it was quiet, and just the sound of the water having a soft blast.
We didn’t say anything and just walked around a bit before we finally found a spot to sit. We still didn’t say a word but somehow, the tension between us started to shift and slowly increased.
“How was your day?” She asked, trying to cut through the tension.
“It was okay…” I got the hint so I told her all about work at the office and even some things from other days.
I just wanted the tension to die off, and it did but it was only for a short while. Before we knew what was happening, we were back to staring at each other again. This time, the tension moved with the speed of the light.
Things got so intense and I didn’t know how or when it happened. The next thing I knew, she was on top of me and we were kissing each other hard.
My head was telling me to stop but every other part of my body wouldn’t let me. I was hard as a rock and she was so ready too.
Just one look at each other, and permission was granted. We both wanted it and went all out.
This time was even more intense. She was on top and she gave me such a wild ride that I almost passed out.
I never knew that she had such naughtiness in her. Looking at her, you’d think she’d do gentle and innocent but the Lila that was on top of me was nothing of sort.
“Oh my goodness!” I exclaimed as I came heavily into her.
She came at the same time too and we both ended up hugging each other tightly. Our bodies vibrated against each other and that feeling, it was damn out of his world.
Even the ocean could tell it was a sweet one because it danced at that moment and the water rushed at us. It washed over us and I sunk into the wet sand, while she also crashed on me.
I looked up and all I saw were stars, beautiful ones, reminding me that I was hooked this time.
I thought this night was going to help me get over Lila, but it turned out it just got me hooked instead…
“There’s no going back now, huh?” I muttered under my breath and yeah, I thought out loud again…
