CHAPTER 98

ANNA'S POV

I couldn't go with the ambulance, because it was filled up. I had to go with Noah's driver and his stoic faced bodyguard. I called my friends and told them everything as I was on my way to the hospital. I called Jimmy after I dropped that call immediately.

“Jimmy, can you come to the hospital? something happened today.” I said to him in a croaked voice.

“Anna, what happened? Is anyone sick?” he asked me almost immediately.

“No, Noah was shot earlier, and... and we're on our way to the hospital, jimmy he lost a lot of blood.'' I told him crying all over again.

“Wait what, Anna who shot him? How the fuck did that even happen? wasn't James there.” he said as I heard a noise from his own end of the call.

“It was Tyler, he shot him at the mansion, Jimmy can you come over?” I asked hysterically.

“Yes, tell everything right now, I'm on my way, send me the location of the hospital.” he said in a hurry.

I told Jimmy everything that happened, and he was shocked to learn that. He kept on saying he never saw that coming, that's so very devastating. I couldn't control my tears, as they kept on coming. I don't know why I'm crying right now, was it because of my dead sister, or Noah, who took a bullet for me, and I don't know if he'll survive it. I was a crying mess, I couldn't control myself or my tears.

When we got to the hospital, they already had an oxygen mask on his face. I held his hand while talking to him.

“Noah, please don't give up on me, don't leave me alone.'' I kept on saying that until they whisked him away.

Mom was taken into the labor room, she was in labor but it wasn't active, she hadn't dilated well, she was crying about Alma, dad too was sad it was too much to take in. I was sitting by the hallway, with my face down while dad was with mom at the labor room, trying to calm her down, and James, Uncle Rafael and Kim were staying with me. Jimmy came with my friends. Latoye and Tina hugged me tightly, when I saw them.

“Toye, she's gone Alma, left me alone.'' I said amidst sobs.

“Girl, it wasn't her fault, we should blame that asshole Tyler, he took her away from you.” Toye said, trying to comfort me.

“Anna, I don't know how you feel, but I can imagine the pain you're feeling right now.” Tina said to me.

“Where did I go wrong, Kim I loved them both equally just like my brother did, why will Tyler do this to us?” uncle Rafael asked in a pained and sad tone.

“Baby, you didn't do anything wrong, he's a troubled child, who took things way too far.” Kim said to uncle Rafael.

Jimmy hasn't said anything since he came back, he was sitting with James, with a stoic and angry look on his face.

“Why didn't we see this coming? he was fucking right in front of us all this time, and I didn't see it. I blame myself, I should've looked harder.” Jimmy said with an angry tone.

“I don't want to lose, Noah, I can't handle it, I don't think I can do this anymore. I'm so tired, I was hopeful of seeing my sister but now, I can't see her and we don't even have her body to bury." I said and cried harder.

“Anna, I know this is too much, but pull yourself together, you won't lose anyone again, Noah is strong and he never loses a fight, I'm sure he'll fight this. we just need to be hopeful.” Kim said to me.

I took turns seeing my mom, in her hospital room crying about Alma, and dad trying to comfort her. And she's still in labor too.

The doctors finally came out of the operation room with a calm but professional look on his face.

“Are you the family of the patient that was brought here now?” The doctor asked us.

“We all are here for Noah,” Uncle Rafael said to the doctor.

“We've successfully removed the bullet, and it didn't hit any vital organ.” he announced to us with a warm smile on his face.

“That's great news, doctor can we see him now?” Jimmy asked immediately.

“No, he lost a lot of blood, and he's unconscious now, so we'll observe him by tomorrow, you can see him.” the doctor said to us.

“Doctor, is he going to be alright?” I asked the doctor, tugging at my jeans.

“Yes, he's going to alright, you all need to rest, go home, and come back tomorrow and see him, it's been a long night.” The doctor said to us,

“Okay, I'll do just that.” Kim responded to him.

“You guys can go home, but I'll watch over him all night.” James said.

We all agreed, and I went back to my hospital room, and she was calmer now, her doctor came into the room and checked her. To see if she's dilated very well.

“Uhm, Mrs Lima you're not dilated very well, if you continue like this you'll have to have a c_section.” she said to mom.

“Amore, can you stop this, it won't bring our daughter back, don't endanger your life and our baby because of your grief. I'm hurt too really, but I can change what's happened." Dad said to mom.

“Amore, I can't believe my Mija is dead, this is too much.” mom said as she held dad's hands, when she felt a pang of labour pain.

“Mom, take it easy, please put your grief aside and give birth. I don't want you being cut open.” I told her as I stroked her hands.

“Sweetheart, how's Noah doing? I can't believe his brother did all these things, it's so hard to believe.'' Dad said to me.

“He's fine, out of danger but he's still unconscious.” I said in a low voice.

“I don't want anything to happen to him, he saved your life Anna. he's a good person, he doesn't deserve what his brother did.” mom added.

Mom's labor lasted all night, it was in the early hours of the morning that he gave birth to my baby brother. He had Alma’s eyes.

“He's so beautiful,” I said as I looked at my baby brother.

“Amore, you did it, congratulations to us. I wish Alma was here.” dad said in a sad tone.

“I'm sure that she would've loved his brother too.” mom added weakly.

I went to check on James, and he told me that he's still not awake. This pissed me off. I went back home, and I had a shower and I brought the things that mom needs. I looked at the time, it was early I prepared breakfast for dad.

When I got to the hospital, mom was sleeping and dad was with my baby brother. He ate as I watched my brother, he was beautiful and precious.

“ don't worry, I'll make sure that you know about Alma.” I said to him softly.

I looked at myself, in the mirror my lack of sleep is showing on me terribly. I told dad, I'll be back and I went to the station to see Tyler.

I saw Detective Rodriguez, as I walked into the station, he was on the phone with someone and he saw me, and took me into his office and motioned for me to sit down.

“How's Noah doing?” he asked me immediately after he dropped the call.

“He's out of danger now, but he's still unconscious for now.” I replied to him.

“That's good to know, I couldn't come to the hospital because I was booking in his brother and it took time.” he explained to me.

“I understand, but can I see him, Tyler?” I asked him with a straight face.

“Yes you can, I hope he talks to you, because he hasn't said anything yet, since last night.” he said to me.

He took me to the visiting area and I waited to see Tyler. I saw him walk up to me with a straight and stoic face.

“You gotta be kidding me,” he said when he sat down.

“Don't you feel remorse for all you've done.” I said to him,

“Why should I? I never did anything wrong.” he said and smiled at me.

“You're a monster, you know that.” I said to him,

“No actually I did something wrong, I should've killed you when I had the chance to slut.” he said to me in a low, dangerous voice.

“You failed, just like your stupid plans. you got me by killing my sister. I hate you so much, but I'm happy that you're here with other animals just like you, and you won't come out anytime soon, you'll die in here like an animal that you are.” I said to him with a smile on my face.

“Yes i know, but you're lucky, I'm in chains right now, I'd have shown you who's boss you mexican whore.” he says to me.

“Don't worry, you'll be seeing my face often,'' I looked at him square in the face. “You took a lot from me, you caused a lot of chaos in my life. You killed my sister, you shot Noah, the man I love. I want you to die, if I had a gun, you'd be fucking dead, you asshole. you shouldn't have been born.'' I spat at him and left him.

I heard his voice, cussing at me but I didn't look back at him. I hit a call from Jimmy that Noah's awake now.
