CHAPTER 92

NOAH'S POV

When I walked out of the Detective's office with Jimmy and James, walking beside me. I was thinking about this video that we just saw . Why do I feel like this person feels familiar, but I can't place my hands on it. I entered the car as James, shut the door, he was sitting in the passenger's seat with Homer, I was at the back with Jimmy.

I was happy about the progress of the case, but I can't help but feel angry, that he was sleek about us finding out who he is, this whole time I didn't know that Jimmy was looking at me.

“Boss, I know that look you're thinking hard about the video.” he said to me.

I looked at him, and I loosen my tie and ran my hand through my hair. “I have to hand it to that bastard. He's very sleek, we can't find his identification or see his stupid face.” I said to him,

“It's going to be hard finding someone that doesn't want to be found, he's very good. I'm sure this is not his first crime, because he knows how to evade the cameras.” Jimmy said as I looked at him.

“I know but not for long, he feels familiar like I know him but I can't put my finger on it. I'll tell the detective to put that video out there, I'm sure someone saw him, or we'll get a tip." I told Jimmy.

“Good idea boss, just discuss with Rodriguez.” he told me, smiling.

I got out of the car, as James followed me until I got into the mansion and he went to his room. Homer took Jimmy home, who was typing on his laptop. The mansion was quiet as I got in and I met uncle Rafael and Kim sitting beside him, talking with Tyler and I sat down and took off my jacket.

“Noah, you're back and you look tired son.” uncle says to me.

“I'm coming from the Detective's office, and he showed me the dashcam video of Anna's attacker escaping after attacking her.” I told them.

Tyler's interest was piqued, “Did they get anything useful from the video? Any leads?” he asked me.

I shook my head, and Tyler looked away, “What do we have to do, to help them, did they enhance the video quality to see clearly?” uncle Rafael asked me.

“Yes, they did but nothing came out of it.” I answered him.

Tyler clenched his fists, “Why is it taking so fucking long? They should catch this guy now!”

“It's not that simple, Ty,” I said , trying to keep my own frustration in check. “They follow every lead carefully, so they don't miss anything at all.”

Kim looked at me, “How's Anna doing? how's she holding up?” she asked in a low tone.

“She's doing okay, she's taking it one step at a time, she's stronger than we can ever imagine.” I replied to Kim.

“Has she regained any of her memories? so she can help us catch this criminal.” Tyler said to me.

“No she's not, I don't want to hurry her, she's been through alot, I'm doing my best to support her, but it's hard.” I replied to Tyler.

Uncle Rafael, and leaned back his gaze on the floor, as Kim placed her hands on his thigh. “What do we do now?” he asked.

I sighed and exhaled deeply. “We'll wait for the Detective to do his job. In the meantime, we need to keep Anna safe. I'll have to tell Matteo to come back. I don't want her going anywhere alone.”

Tyler nodded, in agreement to what I said, “Yeah she shouldn't be alone.”

Kim reached out and touched my arms. “We'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe. She's family.”

I looked around my family, feeling a surge of gratitude and happiness. “Thank you. I know it's not been easy for any of us, I'm happy we are still together.”

Uncle Rafael finally lifted his gaze, his eyes were on me. “We'll Noah. we'll get through all this together like always. And we'll find the bastard that did this.”

I nodded to what Uncle Rafael just said, “I hope so, uncle Rafael I really hope so.”

After our discussions, the room fell into a deep silence as we all were lost in our thoughts, and the weight of the situation was pressing down on us.

I showered and I sat down on my bed, I called Jimmy, as droplets of water from my hair dropped down my body.

“Jimmy, I'll be needing Matteo for Anna is he free?” I asked Jimmy.

Jimmy paused for a bit before he answered, “I'll have to look into that and I'll get back to you by tomorrow.” Jimmy replied to me.

“Great Jimmy, I'll be expecting to see your answer by tomorrow." I told him.

“Alright, boss Uhm I need to ask you something ?” he asked and I can feel that he was embarrassed asking me this.

I touched my hair, feeling it was still wet from my showering earlier, “What Jimmy, ask away I'll always help you, if I can buddy.” I said pretending not to know what he's going to say.

“Uhm okay, I'll just check Latoye out, and she was a stripper before.” he told me.

“Ooookay, I wasn't thinking of that, Jimmy, if you really like her, you'll accept her flaws completely.” I told him.

There was a long pause from Jimmy, “I'll accept her flaws, besides she has her reasons for doing that, I just want to date her.” Jimmy said.

“If she loves you well enough, she'll tell you in time, don't worry too much. From what I've seen, she's a nice girl I can say from her friendship with Anna.'' I said to him,

“You're right boss, you're right I'll wait until she tells me about it.” Jimmy resolved.

“Good, let's go to sleep Jimmy, it's been a long day today.” I told him.

“Yes good night.” Jimmy said to me.

I replied and the call disconnected. I saw Rebecca's texts and calls. I just chose to ignore her. If I reply she's gonna come harder too. I wanted to call Anna, and ask how she's doing but it was late already. I'll just visit her house. I am sure she's gone to see the therapist today, we'll talk by tomorrow.
