CHAPTER 90

NOAH'S POV

As i stepped out of the seminar hall, my mind was buzzing with the success of my presentation there. The crowd was going wild, and I had left the stage in a standing ovation. I had another important engagement to prepare for, it was a dinner date with my Anna. I wanted our first date to be in my yet to open restaurant, that was the perfect place fit, for our date, it was beautiful, serene and private from the publics eyes.

As i walked towards my car, Jimmy was walking with me, his tablet in hand.

“Great job, boss.The feedback from the seminar has been positive.” Jimmy said while scrolling through the comments.

“Thanks, Jimmy. That's good to hear now, let's shift our focus to my date with. Everything ready at restaurant?” i asked him.

Jimmy nodded, with a smile on his face, “Yes boss, Chef Marco is on board, and they team I've set up, know what to prep for the date. your table is set by the window overlooking the city.”

I smiled, and nodded at what Jimmy said, a mix of anticipation and excitement. “Nice let's head home. I want to make everything to be perfect.”

Homer, was off because his wife got sick and he had to take care of her. So James took me to Anna's house to pick her up, so we can go to the restaurant for our date. Anna looked beautiful as she walked towards me. The drive to the restaurant was quick, with James, navigating the city's traffic with ease.

James, opened the car for me and Anna. “ We're here Sir, Shouldo I do a sweep of the perimeter?” James asked me.

“Yes, James make sure everything is secure. and there are no interuptions tonight.” i stepped out with Anna, beside me as I adjusted my suit.

When Anna, saw the interior of the restaurant, her eyes widening with surprise at the sight of the intimate setting. “Wow, Noah, this is amazing,” Anna said to me. she looked amazing and beautiful, in her simple but elegant dress, her hair cascading in soft waves around her shoulders.

I greeted her with a smile, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. “I'm glad you like it, I wanted to do something special for our first date.” i replied her while leading her to a table near the window, over looking the city.

We settled into our seats, and I poured us a glass of the restaurant finest wine, “To new beginnings,” i toasted, raising my glass. Anna smiled and clinked her glass against mine.

“To new beginnings.” Anna said and took a sip of her wine.

Anna looked around the restaurant, “I love this place, Noah it's so beautiful.” Anna said said while looking around the place.

“Thanks, we are known for the best.” i said to her and winked.

We had a wonderful evening, I can't help but notice the happy smile on Anna's face, we linger at the table talking and enjoying the intimacy of the arrangements. The world outside seemed to fade away, leaving us in our own bubble.

As i walked with Anna, to the door, this felt like the beginning of something great. “This has been an amazing evening, Noah,” Anna said softly. “Thank you for sharing it with me.”

I held her hand, “The pleasure is all mine, Anna, I'm glad you're here with me. Anna let's do this again.” i told her.

“I'd love that, Noah.” Anna said lookkng at me.

I leaned in as I kissed her, we kissed for a bit until we were stopped by James. We awkwardly walked outside and we entered the car, as James took Anna home first, and took me home later, she never looked at me I guess she was surprised by what I did.

I was back home, and everyone and I had dinner and went back to my bedroom to rest. But I couldn't stop thinking about our date this night. Jimmy called me and I picked it up.

“Boss, how was the date?” Jimmy asked me expectantly.

“It was beautiful and magical, we kissed Jimmy.” i told him.

“Wow, this is good, I'm happy that you both had a good time.” Jimmy said to me.

“Yes, Jimmy why not ask Latoye out, life's too short to procrastinate.” i told him.

“You're right, I'll ask her out.” he replied.

We talked about other things, I slept off immediately and I woke up and I worked out in the gym, and my phone rang and it was Detective Rodriguez and I picked it up.

“Noah, we should see immediately, it's important.” he said to me with urgency in his voice.

“I'll see you today, I'm less busy.” i told him.

The sun was shining, when I got to the station, the tall, imposing figure of my bodyguard, James in the passenger's seat. I was with Jimmy at the back, as he typed on the tablet, rescheduling my meetings and appointments. Visiting the detective's office has become a habit, for me hoping for a breakthrough in the case.

The air inside the station, was filled with coffee and murmur of voices from officers finishing their reports. I saw Detective Rodriguez, and he took us into his office.

“Noah, come on in,” Rodriguez replied, motioning us to take seats around his desk. “I've got something you'll want to see.”

My pulse quickened, it's been long before we have anythjbg about the case, “What do you have for us, Detective?” i asked my voice steady and firm.

Detective Rodriguez, reached over to his computer and pulled up a video file, “We finally got our hands, on the dashcam video from a car that was parked near the scene of the attack. it took us a while to track down the owner and get their permission.”

The video began play, showing the grainy nighttime street scene. A shadowy figure was coming out of the location Anna was attacked, and dissappearing into the darkness. The assailant was covered from head to toe, making identification nearly impossible.

“Damn,” i mutterd out, leaning in closer. “Can't see his face. He's covered up pretty good.”

Jimmy stopped in his typing on his tablet, “There has to be something we can use. Anything at all?”

Detective Rodriguez paused the video, on the frame where the attacker’s silhouette was most visible. “We've enhanced the video, as much as we could, but this guy is very smart.

He's wearing a hoodie, gloves and a mask. No identical features.

“Can we find him, with no identification whatsoever?” i asked him.

“Yes we'll look into it, Noah we are getting close here, we're unto something here, don't worry I've dedicated my time on this case, I'll see to it to the very last.” Detective Rodriguez assured me.
