CHAPTER 83

ANNA'S POV

After the doctor’s examination of me, and telling me my condition is selective Amnesia, I am not gonna remember what happened to me or why I was attacked, no matter how hard I tried it always came back blank. But the doctor said my memories could return on their own or not, but I could still use the help of a therapist, I'll take it one step at a time, am sure in no time everything will be fine, but for now am just happy to be with my loved one that I've missed so much.

I was looking at mom and dad, who were very happy and attentive to me.

“Sweetheart, do you feel pain anywhere? Do you want me to call the doctor?” dad asked me with a smile on his face.

I looked at him, and I smiled weakly to him. “Dad, I'm okay , I'm fine, don't worry about me.” I told him weakly.

“Alright, my baby if you say so.” he said to me.

I looked at mom's belly which was big, from the last time that I remember , I had a pang of pain and anger, I missed all those time of watching my sibling grow in my mom's belly, but am fine now, am awake I won't miss anything and I'll make sure I remember that bastard and make sure he rots in jail for doing that to me.

“Mija, my darling calm down please, you just returned back to us and I don't want a relapse, I know that I can't take it, your friends are fine. they'll have been visiting you all the time, in fact i'm gonna call Toye and put her on speaker, is that okay.” mom says all while looking at me.

I looked at her face and her stomach and smiled at her, “I'll love that, I can't wait to touch your belly Mami, I wish Alma was here with us. I won't stop until I find my sister.” I told them with a weakly serious face.

“Dear, focus on getting better alright, regain your strength, you have to tell us everything, don't hide things from us like….. “

“Amore, let's not talk about that now okay, let's just focus on our baby's recovery.” mom interjected.

Mom dialed a number on her phone, and she put the phone on speaker and it was ringing. “Hello, Toye, how's work going? hope I am not interrupting you?” mom asked while giving me a thumbs up.

“No, am here working, how's Anna doing?” she asked almost immediately.

“Latoye Anna's awake. She's really awake. you need to come over quickly." Mom was barely able to contain her happiness.

Latoye’s breath was caught in her throat. “Oh my God. I'm coming over right now. I'll call Tina and we'll be there immediately, Jesus this is good news.”

“Toye, I can't wait to see you.” I said weakly to her.

“Anna! girl is that you, you're talking to me”! Tina get over here Anna's awake! I heard running footsteps and it stopped immediately. “Anna! my God we are coming over right now.” Tina said happily.

“Okay girls, we'll be waiting for you here.” Mom said happily to me.

The ended the call, mom called Noah and I was listening to the phone ring, and he picked up immediately.

“Hello Mrs Lima, any updates?” he asked mom.

“Yes, Noah Anna's awake now.” mom said in a happy tone while looking at me and I was smiling at her.

“What! Mrs Lima for real? you're not messing with me?” he asked mom with a surprised tone.

“No she's awake, you can come see her.” Mom replied to him, as dad was smiling.

“Okay, I'm on my way.” he said and ended the call.

“, see everyone is happy that you're awake now, you made everyone worry about you.” mom told me.

“Mom, was Noah worried about me? did he visit me while I was in a coma?'' I asked mom.

“Dear, everyone was worried sick, he was visiting you everyday without fail, everyone Anna, no_one was left out, don't worry they'll all come to see you now that you're awake.” Dad said to me.

Dad called uncle Bill, to tell him the good news that I am awake now.

“Bill, Anna is awake now.” dad announced to uncle Bill.

“This is good news, we will drink to this, I'll be flying out to LA over the weekend, and I'll see you all, can she speak now?” he asked happily.

“Uncle Bill, I'll be waiting for you then.” I told him.

Dad went downstairs to get food for mom, I was on the bed lying down because I was feeling a little woozy, because I took drugs given to me by the nurse. I closed my eyes for a little bit, I opened my eyes and I saw my friends Toye and Tina.

Hey, Anna,” she said softly with tears in her eyes. She moved to my bedside and took my hands, squeezing it gently. “It's so good to see you awake girl.” Toye said to me looking at my face.

Tina came over to the other side of the bed, her hand reaching out to touch my arm. “We've missed you so much. How're you feeling? please don't do this again.” Tina said sobbing.

I shifted my gaze between my two friends, filled with the mixture of recognition and excitement. “I missed you guys, but I don't remember anything from that awful accident.”

Latoye nodded at what I was saying, her expression gentle and understanding. “Anna, don't stress about it, you just returned to us. we're here to help you remember, step by step.”

Tina smiled warmly, her eyes misty with tears. “We'll tell you everything that you don't remember, all the good times and everything you've missed. we're just happy that you're back to us.”

My eyes were misty at this point, overwhelmed with the love and support these girls are showing me, “Thank you, I'm scared but I don't know why. but knowing you're here makes me feel better. I don't know why I can't remember anything.”

Latoye sat down at the edge of the bed, her voice soft and reassuring. “We've got you, Anna. we'll be with you every step of the way. Just take your time. Mrs Lima did you tell Mrs Betty about Anna's awake?”

“Yes i called her, when she was resting, she'll be coming over later today.” mom replied to her.

“Tina nodded at me, looking at my hands and smiling. “We're in this together, just like always. you're not alone, we have a lot to catch up on.”

We were both talking with each other, when the door creaked open and it was Noah and Jimmy who came right in, my face lit up when I saw him walk through that door, and I don't know why.

“Noah,” I called out to him. He looked at me and his face was filled with happiness.

“Anna, I am really happy that you're awake now.” he said to me, while Tina gave way for him, and Jimmy to stay near me, I noticed Jimmy looking at Toye.

“Anna, you gave me a heart attack, I am happy that you're awake.” Jimmy said while touching my face.

“I'm happy to see you all, especially Noah, I. missed you.” I said out loud.

“I missed you too, Anna, just take your time to get better, I'm really happy seeing you awake.” Noah says caressing my face.

“Wow, someone is happy to see someone.” Jimmy remarked.

“Fine, I missed everyone, I just don't remember what happened Noah, I want to but I can't.” I said feeling down.

Noah gripped my hand tightly, he removed a strand hair from my face, “you don't have to remember everything right now. What's important is that you're awake and here, and we'll figure this out together. I'm not going anywhere.” he assured me.

Mom who was watching the whole exchange, with a mixture of relief and hope, she stepped closer and rubbed my shoulders, “We're all here for you, Mija. you're not alone.”

Latoye and Tina nodded too, “we've got you girl,” Toye said softly. “Every step of the way.”

“Yes, Anna is here too, okay just get better and stronger too.” Jimmy added.
