Chapter 99

Everyone grunted and scratched their heads before settling on who would buy the fruits, yoghurt, and protein shake by 'rock, paper, and scissors.

After minutes of battling, a winner was chosen. A pair. Iuhence and Train.

Train extended his hand to Thorn. "Money first. I have a phobia of the word debt."

"Yes," Iuhence seconded. "I also have a phobia of the word 'payment'."

Train glared at Iuhence, and Thorn wondered if it was a good decision to let these two buy the things his wife needed, but he really didn't want to leave the hospital. He had to be near his wife, just in case.

"Here you go," he said, giving his card to Train. "Save yourself."

"Gas?" Iuhence asked.

The train looked at Iuhence evilly. "Why, will you use your car?"

Iuhence grinned. "Nope. I just rode Zapanta."

train tsked and left the room before Iuhence with Thorn's card. Thorn, on the other hand, returned to his wife's room, who was still walking inside with pain on her face.

Thorn clenched his fist, then went out and quickly looked for Doc. that he immediately found at the nurse station.

"Doc., how long?" Thorn knew he was being impatient, but his wife was hurting, and he couldn't do anything else but wait and watch his wife in pain.

Doc. Cza looked at him flatly. "If you're going to be one of those other lunatics when their wives are here, I'm going to kick you out. You think I'm going to leave baby Cass? I'll take care of that in the future, so don't mess around and come back there in his room."

Thorn looked away. "She doesn't want me inside."

Doc. Cza asked before standing up and walking towards Cassia's room. Thorn immediately followed.

"Baby Cass!" Czarina greeted Cassia loudly and energetically, who was now sitting on the edge of the hospital bed. "I'm here to check up on you because your husband is being annoying."

Cassia looked at Thorn questioningly, and Thorn answered with a tight smile. "I'm worried. You don't want to see me, so..."

Cassia gave Thorn a small smile. "I'm sorry. I just don't want you to see me struggling. I can handle it. I'm with Mama."

"Don't worry, son." That's Thorn's mother. "We're taking good care of her."

"Thank you, Mom, Thorn said to the mother, then she approached her husband and dried his wife's wet cheeks from crying and sweat from walking and the pain she was feeling. "I can't bear to see you like this, silly wife. Let me stay by your side."

Cassia shook her head. "I'm okay. I'll be fine."

Thorn pleaded. "I won't even talk. Just let me stay."

Cassia shook her head again.

Thorn sighed. "Alright, I won't force you. Just call me when you need me. Thorn caressed his wife's forehead. "I want you both safe."

Cassia nodded, smiling, then kissed her husband on the cheek. "Don't worry. I'll be fine."

Thorn nodded, then stepped back slightly to make way for Doc. Czarina to check on her husband.

Thorn watched the Doctor check on Cassia, then Doc. Cza looked at him.

"7cm," the doctor said as he stood up from sitting on the bed and smiled happily. "Be ready in an hour. I'll check on you again."

Cassia nodded. "Thank you, Master."

Czarina tapped Cassia's head. "Don't worry. I'll take good care of you, baby Cass."

Somehow, Thorn calmed down after hearing this. He only has to wait a few hours, and it looks like his wife is fine.

Thorn leaned in to kiss his wife's forehead before he left the room while the Doctor was still inside and then went to the room beside his wife's.

When Thorn entered, his crazy friends were eating again. They have barbecue now, even desserts, and Thorn was very familiar with the food.

"Here's your order," said Iuhence, who had returned from shopping and handed Thorn the selected fruit and others.

Thorn accepted the cellophane along with his card. Thanks, he said, then looked at the food on the table. "Are those from my restaurant?"

Train nodded with a sly smile. "We bought it with your own card."

Thorn's face immediately fell. "You fried me in my own oil?"

"Hey, don't complain," said Iuhence. "It's our service fee."

"Service fee, my ass." Thorn looked at Train and Iuhence flatly. "What are you? Couriers?"

The two just smiled innocently before eating again.

Thorn just shook his head, left the room, and returned to the room occupied by his wife to give her the fruit.

Cassia was walking again with a pained expression on her face, so Thorn just gave the fruits to Zehannah, then he left the room again.

This time, Thorn didn't return to Cassia's room. He stayed in the room next to his wife, sighing and being nervous with every passing minute until Zehannah called him, informing him that Cassia was now being wheeled into the delivery room.

Thorn immediately left the room, and his crazy friends came with him. The lunatics filled the hallway towards the delivery room, just behind Thorn. While his mother and Zehannah waited patiently in the corner of the waiting area.

The hospital staff looked at their friends because while Cassia was inside the delivery room, Thorn was in the waiting area with his crazy friends, who were squatting on the floor because there were no more seats.

That was the time when Krisz, Train's husband, and the head of the Hospital received a complaint from one of the staff.

"Doc." It was her secretary. "Someone complained about loiterers outside the DR."

Krisz frowned at what he heard, then looked up at the secretary. "Loiterers?"

"Yes, Doc."

Kriz sighed because she already had an idea who those loiterers were. "Men?"

Her secretary nodded. "Yes. More than twenty of them. They're blocking the way, Doc."

Krizs caught the sense. "Those lunatics! Krisz sighed.

"What are we going to do, Doc?"

Krisz continued massaging her forehead and temple before issuing her order. "Open the emergency hallway. We can't do anything about those crazy friends; that's why I just made an emergency hallway so we can go somewhere else and we won't be disturbed when those crazy people are here."

Krisz's secretary nodded. "Yes, Doc."

"Give them chairs as well," Krisz added. "It's not hygienic for them to sit on the floor."

"Yes, Doc."

When the secretary left, Krisz leaned back in his swivel chair while sniffing the air. He is really in trouble when the wife of one of his crazy friends gives birth. They always caused a ruckus and annoyance because they had this one for all, all for one motto.

Oh well, that's what makes those lunatics solid. And because her husband had friends like that, she was at ease all the time, even when her husband was out drinking and having fun.

While waiting outside the delivery room, Thorn and his friends were surprised when someone delivered a chair to them.

"I think we're blocking the hallway," said Blaze.

Ymar sighed. "It's bad for the hospital to have a clogged hallway."

"Don't worry about it," Train interrupted. "My wife is more than ready to accommodate all of us."

Knight looked at the train. "Oh, what did she do?"

Train smiled. "She built a new hallway that only opens when we're here, blocking this hallway."

Everyone there winced.

"In short, we are disturbing," said Shun, who was eating chips.

Valerian took the chips that Shun was holding. "One for all and all for fucking one means 'disturbance'."

Everyone nodded in agreement except for Thorn, who was focused on the delivery room's door. He didn't budge from his seat until he saw Doc. Cza stepped out of the DR.

"Doc!" Thorn immediately stood up from his seat and almost ran between him and the Doctor. "How are my wife and my daughter?"

Doc. Cza shrugged confidently and smiled. "Me too," he said proudly. "They're both okay. Baby Cass will be wheeled in in a few minutes, and the baby will follow. For now, go back to the room and wait for your wife."

Thorn smiled as relief flooded him. When he turned around to follow Doc. On Cza's order, he saw his friends smile at him while their fists were in the air, like they were cheering him.

Thorn laughed softly. "Thanks, lunatics."

Thorn knew that without his friends, the fear and trepidation he had felt all day would surely have been doubled. But because they accompanied him, somehow his fear of giving birth to his wife was reduced.

"We're going." Zapanta waved his hand in the air. "You can do it."

"Bye, Calderon. Thanks for the food," said Knight.

"See you tomorrow," Reigo said, tapping his shoulder.

"Take care of your wife, others ordered.

"Bye, Calderon."

"You owe us a free meal."

"Let's go home!"

Everyone nodded and left, smiling one by one.

Then it was his mother who spoke. "Now that Cassia and the baby are safe, I'll go fetch your Dad. We'll visit later."

Then Zehannah followed. "I'll rest for a while. Just visit me later."

Thorn nodded, took a deep breath, and went to his wife's private room. He read everything he could before his wife was wheeled in. After a few minutes of waiting, his wife finally entered the room, and Thorn volunteered to transfer her from the stretcher to the bed.

Call him possessive, but he was not comfortable letting a male nurse carry his wife in front of him.

When his wife was properly laid down, he kissed her on the forehead. After nearly an hour or so, their daughter was wheeled in, and Thorn couldn't help but shed a tear seeing his little princess up close. She was a little chubby and adorable, and Thorn couldn't help playing with his daughter's hand.

"Hello there, my little Cinnamon. You're so adorable like your Mama."

More than a year ago, he would never have thought that he'd marry and have a daughter. But here he was, happily married and now a Dad.

Life really was full of surprises, and it all started when he got married in a restaurant.
