Chapter 47

Chapter 47
Emily POV

a Week has gone by without Jason coming by once again. I feel bad for coming back and ruining the brother's relationship. I have seen that is taking a toll on Mason. Yes, I know that I do not what to see Jason right now, but I am doing this for Mason.

Three days after coming back, I heard Mason on the phone. I guessed it was Jason since he asked the person on the phone why he wasn't coming around anymore?

Today I came to a decision. I decided to visit Jason today. Mason watches Madi most of the time while I work and look for apartments so I decided to lie to Mason.

I just want to put everything behind me and get it done. Things cannot go on like this.

I look at the address Jesieka gave me. She knows how close Jason and I were five years ago, so she didn't even ask me why I was looking for him. She probably thought that I just wanted to hang out, but little did she know that things run so much deeper.

After half an hour, I stop in front of Jason's apartment.

I had forgotten how busy the town could be. If I had walked, I would have been here twenty minutes ago.

I knock on the door. I know he will still be at home as it is only after seven and none of his clubs is open.

The door opens. Jason stands there in nothing but his boxers. The shock on his face is laughable. Jason just stood there and stared.

"May I come in?" It's as if Jason comes out of a trance, and back to reality.

"Yes, sure." Jason stood aside for me to walk past. One can see that he is staying here alone.

There are clothes and dirty dishes everywhere. I'm not here to judge. I move clothes aside and sit on the spot I cleaned.

Jason started to clean up.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting anyone here today." I just shake my head and stop him immediately.

"Jason, can you please sit down. I don't care how it looks, I just want to talk to you. That's all." Jason's hand rests on the clothes he's trying to pick up. He leaves everything and sits down on the sofa in front of me.

"What do you want to talk about?" Jason folded his hands over his lap.

"Jason, I think you know. I want to talk to you about what happened five years ago. It's time we sort things out. You're Jason's little brother, and I don't want to be the reason you don't visit him anymore. "

"And what makes you think you're the reason? Not everything is about you."

"I know it's about me, Jason. I'm not stupid. Don't you think I did my homework before I came here? I just talked to Jesieka and I know for the past few years, you've been at the house every morning Mason to have breakfast with him. Now, why didn't you try to come to Mason the week I came back? Oh yes, you did, but then you realized I was there then you disappeared like mist before the sun. So don't you dare not say it's about me? It's not my fault you fell in love with me. I have never given you any indication that I liked you. I have always treated you only as a brother."

"I know and that's the problem. It's been five years now. I thought my feelings would have gone by then, but they didn't. When I saw you with Mason it physically felt like my heart was breaking apart. I realized then for the first time that you will never love me the way you love Mason. I felt the love you have for each other and I felt guilty that I was the one that took you two away from each other." Jason placed his hands ober his eyes.

The fighting disappears from my body. The sadness in his eyes and voice is almost too much for me. I got up and sat next to Jason on the couch. I pull him closer to me and hold him.

"I'm sorry, I really didn't realize that's how you feel."

"I know and it's not your job to spare my feelings. All I want for you is for you to be happy. I just need a few days so I can come to terms with my feelings. Can I have a few days please?"

"I can give you a few days, but the problem is Mason. Jesieka told me you came to eat with Mason every day. I can see that it bothers him that you don't come anymore. Let's make a plan now. I can make sure I go out early so you can spend time with your brother."

"No, it's not going to work. I'll go talk to Mason, don't worry. I hope we can still be friends after everything, but I can tell you now that it could be a while."

"I'll wait until you're ready." I stood up and made my way out of the apartment.

I am glad that this talk is over. Perhaps in the future we can go back to the friends that we once was.
