Chapter 163 The Rich Playboy's Harassment

Chapter 163 The Rich Playboy's Harassment

Sitting in her car, Sophia didn't start the engine immediately.

She pulled out her phone and dialed a number, her voice calm and clear, "Help me investigate Elora's recent activities, especially who she's been in contact with. Pay particular attention to anyone from families that might outrank the Windsor family."

She was determined to find out exactly which family Elora had managed to climb up to.

On the drive back, during evening rush hour traffic, she was moving steadily with the flow when she stopped at a red light. Suddenly, there was a muffled thud from behind her car, accompanied by an obvious jolt.

After a moment of confusion, Sophia quickly realized what had happened—she'd been rear-ended.

Frowning, Sophia unbuckled her seatbelt and got out to assess the situation.

The car that had hit her was an eye-searing bright yellow Lamborghini with some denting on the front, while her rear bumper was clearly damaged.

A young man in a flashy shirt and sunglasses jumped out of the Lamborghini. He first looked at his car's front end with concern, then walked toward Sophia, chewing gum.

"Hey! How do you drive? Sudden braking like that—don't you have any manners? That's reckless driving, you know!"

The man immediately went on the offensive, his tone arrogant. He removed his sunglasses, revealing a reasonably handsome face. He was clearly a rich kid, looking Sophia up and down.

When he got a clear look at Sophia's coldly stunning beauty and graceful figure, his eyes immediately lit up, and his impatience was instantly replaced by interested sleaziness.

Sophia's gaze was icy as she pointed at the red light ahead, "The light is red. I stopped normally to wait. You failed to maintain a safe following distance. You're completely at fault."

Her cold demeanor only seemed to intrigue him more, sparking his interest further.

"Ooh, a feisty one!"

Far from showing any remorse, the man grinned and stepped closer, his gaze shamelessly scanning Sophia's body.

"Cars, whatever—crashes happen. I can afford to pay. I'm Gerald Green. You're gorgeous. Can I get to know you?"

As he spoke, he actually reached out to put his hand on Sophia's shoulder.

Sophia's eyes flashed coldly as she quickly stepped aside, her voice filled with undisguised disgust, "Stay away from me. The fault is clear. I need to call the insurance company and notify the police."

Gerald's hand missed its target, but he wasn't angry and found it more entertaining.

"Oh, quite the attitude! I like that! Don't be so cold, come on. Let's be friends—call it my apology. How about dinner tonight? I know this new place that just opened, the food is absolutely..."

Sophia rolled her eyes and mercilessly cut him down, "Gerald, right? I'm remembering your name for when the police get here. Also, your pickup lines are incredibly pathetic."

Being dismissed like this for the first time, Gerald was stunned, then broke into an excited grin.

Sophia was even more disgusted.

Just then, the police arrived and quickly surveyed the scene, clearly determining that Gerald had failed to maintain a safe following distance and was entirely responsible for the accident.

Gerald was completely unconcerned about this, cheerfully signing the paperwork while keeping his eyes glued to Sophia.

After the accident was processed, Sophia's car needed to go to the shop for repairs.

Too disgusted to say another word to Gerald, she walked to the curb to hail a cab to the office.

But Gerald wasn't giving up, leaning against his Lamborghini and calling out to Sophia, "Hey, beautiful, cabs are such a hassle! Where are you going? I'll give you a ride! Or just give me your number—I'll transfer the repair costs directly!"

Sophia couldn't even be bothered to glance at him. Fortunately, a taxi pulled up just then. She opened the door, got in, gave the company address, and the cab drove away.

Gerald watched the taxi disappear into the distance, but instead of feeling defeated, he stroked his chin and smiled with determination, "Feisty and interesting! I've got my sights set on you now!"

The next morning, Sophia was chairing an important project meeting in the conference room.

Halfway through, her assistant hurried in, looking troubled and embarrassed, leaning down to whisper in her ear, "Ms. Brown, there's a situation downstairs."

Sophia's brow furrowed slightly. "What's going on?"

The assistant lowered her voice, "Someone has arranged nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine red roses in a giant heart shape at the entrance to the main lobby, along with a banner."

"Who's being proposed to?" Sophia asked, somewhat confused.

Her assistant specifically came upstairs to report this—surely it couldn't be her being courted?

Sophia's expression changed.

The assistant looked pained, "The banner reads 'Sophia, be my girlfriend!'"

Although the other colleagues in the meeting room couldn't hear the specific details, seeing the assistant's expression and catching words like "roses" and "banner," they couldn't help but exchange curious glances.

Sophia's face immediately darkened.

She walked to the floor-to-ceiling windows and looked down.

The person below looked familiar. After thinking for two seconds, Sophia recognized him.

Gerald? That rear-ending trust fund baby?

He'd actually tracked down her company and name, and was using this incredibly tacky but high-profile method?

Taking a deep breath and maintaining surface composure, she told the meeting attendees, "Sorry, we're taking a ten-minute break."

Then she stood up and walked downstairs, her face like frost.

When the elevator doors opened on the first floor, the scene before her made the vein at Sophia's temple throb.

In front of the imposing Windsor Group office building, there was indeed an absurdly extravagant heart shape made from densely packed red roses, drawing quite a crowd of employees and passersby who stopped to point and whisper.

Above the rose heart hung a conspicuous red banner with bold yellow text reading: "Sophia, be my girlfriend! With devoted admiration, Gerald!"

Gerald himself was wearing an even more garish bright pink suit, his hair slicked back with gel, casually leaning against his yellow Lamborghini.

He was playing with a velvet jewelry box in his hands, looking completely self-satisfied and confident of victory.

Seeing Sophia emerge, he immediately straightened up, flashed what he thought was a charming smile, and approached with the jewelry box in hand.

Sophia stood on the steps, coldly observing this farce, the frost in her eyes enough to freeze the surrounding air.

This Gerald wasn't just a trust fund baby, but a complete idiot.

Didn't he realize where he was?

Pulling this stunt at the Windsor Group entrance was essentially embarrassing Henry and creating unnecessary trouble for her!

Anyone with half a brain wouldn't mess with the Windsor Group!
