S2- A Disgraceful Father

S2- A Disgraceful Father
The better Magnus treated her, the more terrified Senna became. His enigmatic behavior left her unable to grasp his true intentions. What was he plotting?

Three years ago, how had he deceived her, stolen her heart and body, only to throw her into prison, kill her younger brother, and force her to drink that glass of abortion medicine? The pain and hatred he inflicted on her were like a brand, burned deep into her soul.

No, she couldn't waver. She had to avenge herself. In one week, he would meet his end.

"Senna, I'm heading back to the company first. Once I finish my work, I'll take you out for a walk." Magnus reached out, gently brushing his fingers through her hair as he spoke in a low voice.

Senna set down her spoon, her voice cold as ice. "I don't want to go out."

"If you don't want to, then we won't. I'll come back tonight and have dinner with you." Magnus took her hand and brought it to his lips, pressing a soft kiss against it.

His touch was light, tender even, but the instant his lips made contact with the back of her hand, the searing warmth jolted her.

She yanked her hand away as if burned, grabbed a napkin, and scrubbed the back of her hand so hard that her skin turned red. Her voice was laced with coldness. "I'd rather you not come back at all."

A flicker of disappointment crossed Magnus's eyes before he retracted his gaze, turned his wheelchair, and silently left.

Watching his desolate figure disappear from sight, Senna slowly put down the napkin, pressing her lips into a thin line. Her gaze shifted to the maid standing nearby, and she casually asked, "When did your young master become crippled?"

If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she would have never believed that such a proud and arrogant man would be reduced to relying on a wheelchair.

The maid's expression remained impassive. "I haven't been here long, but I heard he was in a car accident three years ago."

Serves him right. He must have done too many wicked deeds, and now the God is punishing him.

Just then, the security guard led in an elderly couple.

"Senna, is it really you?" At that moment, the security guard led Senna's father and mother into the room.

The moment her father saw her, he rushed forward, gripping her hand tightly, his eyes turning red with emotion. "You're alive! That's wonderful! I've been thinking about you every day for the past three years."

Senna's mother stared at her, but instead of relief, her heart clenched. She's still alive? Her life is really stubborn.

Senna forcefully pulled her hand away, her tone distant and indifferent. "Mr. Thorne, we severed ties a long time ago. What do you want?"

"Senna, you're still blaming me. But back then, I had no choice when I cut ties with you." The way she addressed him-Mr. Thorne-stabbed his heart like a needle.

"Mr. Thorne, you're overestimating yourself. I don't have the time to waste holding grudges against a stranger who has nothing to do with me. If there's nothing else, please excuse me." Senna suppressed the ache in her heart and turned away.

"Wait!" Her mother shoved her father aside and strode forward, snapping angrily, "Senna, you brought this upon yourself back then! No one owes you anything, so stop acting like a debt collector."

Senna slowly turned back around, her icy gaze sharpening. "Did I beg you to come see me? If you have nothing important to say, then get lost. Don't be an eyesore."

Her mother's face twisted in rage. "You-! No matter what, we're still your parents! How dare you speak to us like this?"

Senna sneered. "I'm not that lucky. My parents died a long time ago. I'm an orphan."

"You heartless girl! Your father is standing right here, alive and well, and you dare curse him like that? You need some discipline!" Her mother raised a hand, about to strike her.

Her father hurriedly held her back, his voice anxious. "Calm down! I was wrong back then, I admit it! But don't forget why we came here today."

Mrs. Thorne yanked her hand free and arrogantly declared, "You should know that on the tenth, Astrid and Magnus will be getting married. He's about to become your brother-in-law. So what are you still doing here? What are you trying to steal? You shameless little wretch! Do you still have feelings for Magnus? I'm telling you now-I won't let you ruin Astrid's wedding. If you know what's good for you, pack your things and leave!"

"So you came to make things official for your daughter," Senna scoffed, arching a brow. "Well, it was your so-called 'good son-in-law' who insisted I stay. He even wants me to bear his children. What's the matter? Can't your daughter conceive?"

"You-how dare you curse Astrid like that!" Mrs. Thorne shrieked in fury. "I'll rip that filthy mouth of yours apart!"

"Calm down, dear!" Mr. Thorne held her back, his face filled with disappointment. "Senna, you've changed so much. You used to be kind and well-mannered, but now you're rude and shameless. Just leave. Being a mistress will never end well for you..."

"Shut up," Senna snapped, her icy gaze like a knife. "You, of all people, have no right to lecture me. Your own hands aren't clean. Do I need to remind you how you stole someone's husband, forced his wife away, and took her place? You're the real homewrecker here."

"You-!" Mrs. Thorne's face turned red with fury. "You dare call me a homewrecker?! I'll kill you!" She shoved Mr. Thorne aside and lunged at Senna.

Before Senna could react, the bodyguards swiftly intervened, stopping her.

"I am your boss's future mother-in-law! How dare you block me? Do you have a death wish?!" Mrs. Thorne shrieked, raising her hand to slap the bodyguard.

But the bodyguard was under orders to protect Senna and showed no mercy. He grabbed Mrs. Thorne's wrist and squeezed.

"Aahhh-!" Mrs. Thorne let out an ear-piercing scream. "Let go! That hurts!"

Senna had no patience for their nonsense. Her voice was cold. "Throw them out."

As the bodyguards forcibly removed them, Mr. Thorne turned back and shouted desperately, "Senna, listen to me-just leave. Don't ruin your sister's happiness. I'm begging you..."

Back then, when she had been in trouble, he had been desperate to cut ties. Now, he was begging her for the sake of the daughter he had with his mistress.

She must have been a sinner in her past life to have such a disgraceful father.

Senna pressed a hand to her aching heart and closed her eyes. When she opened them again, there was no warmth left-only emptiness.

Ever since Tobias died, she had no family. They were unworthy.

"Madam, are you alright?" The maid offered her a cup of water, her voice filled with concern.

At the word 'Madam,' Senna's expression darkened. She coldly asked, "Who told you to call me that?"

"The young master ordered it," the maid quickly explained.

"Your madam is Astrid Thorne, not me. From now on, address me as Miss Senna." She didn't understand why Magnus insisted on calling her that, but it only made her angry.

Turning away, she went to her room to rest. The argument had drained her.

Lying in bed, she watched the curtains sway in the breeze. Her thoughts blurred.

Time passed so quickly.

Magnus had kept her here against her will for over a month now.
