Chapter 128 Chapter 128

Chapter 128 Chapter 128
Aliyah’s POV

I let out a terrifying whimper. It's not possible. I can't get pregnant again. Asher and I are not even okay at all.

"No, I can't. I can't get pregnant." I shook my head, rubbing my forehead. Tracy sighed, walking even further inside the restroom. She placed her hand on my shoulder and turned to face her. "Of course you are. I know when a woman is pregnant and when she is not. I am a woman too."

I didn't even know whether to laugh or cry. I didn't know if it was happiness or sadness. Could I call this another mistake? Getting pregnant with Asher's baby over again? I don't even know what to do right now. I looked away from Tracy. I don't want crazy thoughts to start spiralling in my head.

"You are-"

I held my hands in the air. "Just stop. Stop Tracy. Nothing has been confirmed yet. Maybe it's just stress. You know everything that has happened. Elara’s accident, Asher's mistress, Tatiana and her son's issue, everything is just making me not to rest. Everything is stressing me out. We can't confirm this yet just by being suspicious." I told her and rinsed my face again.

I grabbed my bag and walked out of the restroom. She followed beside me.

"Wait..I didn't mean to get you confused or mad. That's what I just thought. Why don't you just wait and I'll get you a pregnancy test trip?"

I stopped and grabbed her hands in mine and looked into her eyes. "I know you care about me, Tracy but I am fine. I understand you but we can't just confirm what it is not. I don't want to bother you. It's enough that trouble seems to follow me around that even I am starting to think that I am a trouble magnet. I don't want to drag you into my problems. You and Hope. I am fine. Please don't worry about me." I said and we embraced each other.

"Okay...I won't worry anymore. But if you feel anything again, you have to call me so we can go to the hospital together."

We disengaged from the hug and I nodded.

She smiled at me. I returned the smile. It wasn't as bright as it used to. But then it struck me. How did she know that I was here? How?

"How did you know I was here? I didn't remember telling you that I was going to be seeing my business consultant here."

She smiled, fiddling with her fingers. "Magic!" She whispered in my ears and winked at me. She continued walking. I caught up with her.

I knew she wasn't telling the truth but if there was one thing I knew about Tracy Baldwin, it was that she would eventually tell the truth even if it was hard. I trust her so much.

"C'mon...it's not magic. I mean...I didn't even tell Asher."

She cleared her throat and continued walking. I grabbed her arm. She tried to escape playfully.

"What? Are you stalking me now?" I asked playfully.

"Why? Can't I stalk my best friend?" She laughed, throwing her hands up when we got outside.

"Fine!" She raised her hands in defeat. "Your husband called me." She eventually spilled.

I stopped and pulled my hand away from her arm.

Husband? Asher? I rolled my eyes and folded my arms when I got to the car. "He is not my husband. Asher and I are not married." I blurted.

"Calm down. He called and told me to check on you that you looked pale. That he was scared to let you out alone. I got worried too and good thing I was nearby when I saw your car going down here. I followed silently hoping nothing bad would happen to you. I stayed in the car so I won't disrupt your meeting with your business consultant." She explained and I didn't know if I should be glad. Asher was stressing Tracy out because of me.

I sighed, rubbing my forehead. "He is stressing over nothing and you have to relax, too. I am not a kid anymore. I can take care of myself. He is getting you stressed over nothing."

"No. I don't think so. He is worried just like I am worried. I don't want you to get hurt at all. And he said he was going to get you the DNA test proving that bitch's son isn't his. I just want to believe in him." She said and I shook my head. I got into the car and she followed suit too.

"Don't tell me you believe him too, Tracy!" I said.

"Of course, I do. I believe in him. That woman is just a home wrecker. Nothing but a home wrecker. I would feel like you are feeling right now. It's understandable but don't you need evidence? Don't you want to know the truth too? That woman is just jealous of what you guys have right now." She explained and I fell silent.

That was what I thought when Tatiana barged into Elara's welcome party. What if she was just lying? What if she was never even pregnant to begin with? What if?

I shake the thoughts out of my head. But he still admitted to sleeping with her five years ago?

The thought alone makes me even mad. "I know he admitted to sleeping with her five years ago but -"

I gripped the steering so tight that my knuckles were turning white. The action alone made Tracy trailed off.

"There’s no but. I don't care what he does. I don't care if he had sex with her and got pregnant and I also don't care if he didn't have anything to do with her. I will only focus on my daughter. On Elara. I won't trade my attention for my daughter for anything. It's his problem. He should handle it. He must handle it without getting Elara and I involved." I stated, resting my back on the seat.

Tracy sighed. "Okay...I...I will just leave now."

She hugged me and I reciprocated. The moment she stepped out of the car, I raced down to the pharmacy to get a pregnancy test strip. Tracy was right but I don't want to think that I am pregnant. That's the last thing that I'd want to happen to me right now. I don't need another pregnancy. I don't need another unplanned pregnancy in my life. I increased the speed. I wasn't scared of anything. All I just needed to do was get the pregnancy strip and get everything over with.

I stopped right in front of the pharmacy and stepped out of the car. I headed in with my head high and met a woman sitting and typing on a laptop. She was probably doing some accounting.

I told her what I needed and with a polite response, she handed it over to me.

She didn't say anything to me and I was grateful for that. I needed some clarity right now. I asked for directions to the bathroom.

"Go straight and turn left. The door...the sign is on it."

I thanked her and made my way to the restroom. I stared at myself in the mirror as soon as I got in. I followed the instructions on the pack and did it.

I shut my eyes tightly praying that it wasn't what I thought it was. I opened my eyes slowly and with a trembling hand, I brought it closer to view.

Two lines. Pregnant.
