Twenty Nine

Twenty Nine
ELARA'S POV

What I had been avoiding for a long time finally met me and there was no way I was going to turn him down.

He is the only one that helps with the whole emotional trauma I'm going through.
Victor acted so dramatic when he got to see me standing right in front of the orphans home, that was a bad spot for him to see me because I sincerely can't explain anything to him at the moment.

Victor and I got home. He found my apartment amazing but then...

"Why did you have to come here all alone?" He looked closely at the craft that hung on the way.

"Pea e. I needed to wrap my head around what's going on. Liam could come after me anytime soon, so I have to think ahead of him if I must survive." That answer didn't come with a thought, I didn't think of it.

"That was a smart move Elara, but you did it all alone. Didn't you want some help or something?" He shrugged.

"I understand you want to be there all the time but I need you to understand that sometimes I just want to be alone. I want to fucking be alone...." I paused and massaged my brows trying to not look rude.

"I'm sorry for using that alone. It hasn't been easy with me lately and I so much hate to fake it." Tears shimmered in my eyes.

I was careful not to let him notice. I turned to the other side and acted like nothing hurt

"Elara?" Unfortunately, Victor was so sensitive.

"I'm fine Victor, you do not have to start with the questioning." I sniffled and cleared my throat then turned to him and gave him a broad smile.

"Okay, okay fine if you say so. Liam hasn't reached out to me in days and I don't think he will be thinking of doing something without telling me."

I chuckled. "I think you don't have to trust him anymore, he can go miles to get what he wants without informing anyone." I advised.

"That aside, why does this place look like you hack or deal with hackers? Why does it look so messy? Do you sleep at all?" His eyes could show how worried he was.

"Which do you want me to answer? I am not doing anything concerning hacking and yes, I do sleep." I answered reluctantly.

"Just so you know, I would be so busy to attend to you tomorrow. I will send an address to Sophia , so she will come with you." He suggested.

I am not in support of this but she's my best friend, I can't keep her away.

I gave a half–smile and nodded in agreement to what he said.

There was an awkward silence in the room and I felt uncomfortable with it. He concentrated on his phone while I sat there watching nothing. I refused to switch on the laptop so he does not get to see how far I had gone.

Things I didn't expect to happen yesterday, happened and now I had to accept it. I arranged the house knowing fully well that I am expecting Sophia to be here and even if I'm going through some shit, she doesn't have to see me that way.

"Ohhh, gosh! I really need to work on my brain." I hit my forehead lightly.

I had forgotten I was all alone at home, I stretched out the towel hoping the maid would take it and now it fell on the floor.

Now, that's suffering.

I was almost done with cleaning up when I heard the bell ring.

I rushed for the door immediately and opened it to see Sophia. She had a bright smile on her face, my heart felt a stab of hope when I saw her.

"Sophia..." I called out with the lady strength that was left in me.

"You haven't stopped being dramatic." She hugged me and got into the house.

"I got into deep thoughts when I heard that you aren't at home anymore. I drove down to your place and the maids gave me an annoying statement. I mean I really wanted to skin her alive." She tightened her jawline and clenched her hands.

"I'm sorry I couldn't inform you but I am happy you got to find me either way." I shrugged.

That reminds me..

I rushed to get us a glass of wine. When I returned Sophia had turned on the television and put it into a news channel.

"I mean I barely watch these. I don't even have the time to watch the television." I said to Sophia who only concentrated on the news that was being passed.

I drank the wine trying to flow with what I was seeing but then, I felt like I wasted my damn life watching this.

"Elara?" Sophia's voice was so low but I was able to hear it.

The shock on her face could not let her say a word, I was confused with what was going on.
I looked at the television screen and my jaw dropped.

The glass in my hand fell to the ground and shattered.

"Liam? My father's...." I couldn't breathe, I gasped for air.

"Elara..stop, stop this.." She rushed over to me.

"Liam is a fucking betrayal."
His speech made everything worse in my head.

"I'm bitter to lose my wife and her family.." He continued.

"You asshole, you aren't bitter." I cursed while rolling on the floor.

All the glass pierced into my skin but I didn't feel pain because Liam's lies were enough to cut me.

"Elara, you don't have to go to the hospital twice. Please, stop this." Sophia pulled me up and took me away from the shattered glass area.

She took out the ones she could and called for medical assistance.

That day my heart was hardened, there was no remorse on his face.

I Will get everything he took from me, from my FAMILY!!!
Tears dropped from my eyes as I watched the show without hearing a thing.
