Chapter 57-He Came

Yelena became serious and dropped the act. She seemed confused and did not want to pursue the talk anymore. Well, that's the glory in things. I could finally have my peace now without thinking about the stress she'll cause me. I held my stomach and felt the warmth of the said fetus. If she is right, it is only good for me to drop the drug and never drink it. Or maybe not? "What's your plan now? Keep it?" Yelena asked me and turned the screen off.

"Why else would I do that? Besides, the baby doesn't have a father yet. How will I raise this one? It is only right to decline this blessing now rather than keep it," I muttered and laughed a little. It hasn’t been fully developed yet. It already caused me pain. It gave me a whole ass stomach ache just because I wanted to drink that stupid pill. What does this monster want? "Well, your choice," she said and dropped everything off. She carefully pulled the device out of my sensitivity and had me close my legs.

"However, you told me that I shouldn't isolate my daughter, didn't you? You told me that I should keep her alive since there is no point in hiding her. How could you say you want to get rid of your blood and flesh when you also wanted me to let my child see the world? How hypocritical is that?" she asked me. Her words seemed like a knife stabbing me little by little. Her real talk was too much, and I couldn't handle it. It was like she's made her point clear, so truly, it wanted to leave a hole in me.

My heart aches as if it knew what I should do. My brain's confused. Never really know what's my next move. What should I do? Should I watch myself slowly get torn away? I felt like I was presented with facts despite not asking for them. I am scared, really scared. If I pursue this, will I survive it?

"You said that I shouldn't control my child's life then. Why are you controlling that baby's fate? Who knows, she'll eventually become something more? Stronger? Who knows if she'll make a very strong alpha? Come on, Raya, we know nothing about the future," Yelena said as she left a dagger on my chest. Yeah. The future's not certain. And because it's never sure, I can't afford to have her see the world. I know it will struggle; without a strong foundation in life, it will never survive.

I am also afraid of the fact that this child would only weigh me down. "You have to think this over and over again, okay? I'll be waiting for your response, and in the meantime, I don't want you to do things that could harm both you and your soon-to-be child. We can't afford inconvenience, so please take your time resting. I would take the pills away and call me whenever you need something," she said. Before she could turn her back away from me, I held her hands and took my time tightening my grip on it. "What about my back? You said the pill cured it, but I can't drink it now. Also, the process of healing my neck? What should I do with it?" I asked. "No worries. You are treated in the meantime. The wound on your neck will continue to feel numb for the next twenty-four hours, and we'll do the exact same process of anesthetic insertion tomorrow. For your back pain, I'll leave some painkillers, and trust me, and they'll eventually be healed on their own. Don't stress yourself too much; it's not good for the kid," she advised me and tapped my shoulders.

I watched her walk away and go through the door. She's indeed so busy right now, and I should let her go. Eloise followed inside, rushing back to me. The boy's no longer in her arms, and I guess it was taken back to its room. "How was it? What are the findings?" she asked, a little bit tensed. Her voice raising said so much about her.

She quickly grabbed the chair on the other side and sat on it. She was so nervous about the findings and couldn't help but tremble. Like a good friend? To be honest, I am a bit worried about Eloise' sudden character development. It was so fast that I couldn't help but to think that she was faking it all. What would happen if I trusted her now and then? Eventually, I'll realize how fake of a person she really is.

Although, I am so proud of her changes. Just look at how mature she is right now. She knows how to handle situations the right way, take care of and save other people, and she knows many more things than a normal wolf knows. I thought.. she only craved violence. I watched Eloise grab my hand as she held it close to her. I still feel aching in my stomach, but I am fighting the urge to scream all the pain out; I find it inappropriate.

"Come on, you can tell me? Besides, I am sure that there is nothing serious. Look, your wound seemed to be closed bow, although there's still blood coming out of it. I am sure you'll be fine," she reassured me and smiled as if I was worrying about my health condition right now. "Yeah, the open cut was taken care of,” I said as I sighed and held my stomach. I can feel it rumbling, and I'm hungry. It was like; it needed to be fed food; otherwise, it would eat my internal organs. "Oh, right, Do you need some food? Shall I get some for you?" Eloise panicked hard and tried to find some food. She sure has the habit of panicking over small matters.

I respectfully refused and helped myself to sit up. I want to get a measure of how heavy this monster is that it is causing me pain. "Damn, you silly woman. You know your body needs to rest, but you must sit here. You know I won't mind helping you, don't you?" Eloise rolled her eyes and put both her arms on her chest. Right, just as I expected.

I wanted Eloise to show me her usual attitude rather than being kind. I would prefer it that way. I put my feet on the ground, hoping I could find my way out. As my bare skin touched the floor, I realized how cold the ground was. It sends a chill to me, and how it sits on my feet really makes me shiver. "Go ahead, walk on your own. Let's see how far you can get," Eloise muttered and, instead, sat down on her chair, unbothered.

I grabbed some things, such as a chair and wall, to help myself to stand up. I need to walk on my own, and I am not paralyzed. Also, I can feel the painkiller hitting me hard. Because it is authentic, it really makes the pain stop. It was as if I didn't have any injuries.

I held the doorknob and eventually heard the noise outside. Push-able beds ran through the hallway, nurses shouting at the top of their lungs to seek help from the upper, all the wolves who hadn't returned to their human form yet, and all the wounded citizens who were sitting by the chairs. It was all an eyesore for me. I knew I couldn't help them, but I also knew that I needed to maintain a low profile.

Who knows who would recognize me from here? I'll probably lose my life if I make a rush move. I slowly walked when I heard a familiar voice. It was calling out for me really loud, grabbing the attention of almost everyone here. I can feel their eyes sticking onto me and their ears hearing everything clearly. I saw Gael walking down the hallway and immediately rushed back to the room. It was so painful, but I couldn't afford but to rush my way.

For God's sake, this is making me puke. As I jumped back, Eloise was startled. She was looking at her pretty nails when she decided to face me. "What the?" she started, looking so shocked. "Are you alright? Do you need something? Someone's chasing you?" she said and ran to me. She opened the door again, only to see Gael standing by it. "Holy motherfucker, what is this— " she continued but Gael cut her off by saying: “Step back," Eloise immediately stepped back as Gael made his own way inside.

"Raya?" Gael said in a serious and caring tone. I opened my eyes only to see his flaming glow. "Who did this to you?"
