Chapter 64 Fated to the Forgotten Alpha
Chapter 64 Fated to the Forgotten Alpha
LIORA'S POV
My vision blurred as I blinked. Everything around me was hazy. I heard someone's voice that seemed distant.
“Liora… Liora… can you see me?”
Was that Ronan?
“Don't fucking touch her…” I blinked and sat up slowly just in time to see Leonard swat Ronan's hand away before he could touch me.
I was confused. My mom and dad where here together with Ronan and Leonard. My dad looked disappointed staring down at me. My mom was quiet beside him, staring at anywhere but me.
“You got into a fight with two boys… the principal had to call me over to school because of this. I've been awfully silent all these while, your scandal and the tricks you've been playing around. I didn't take any action because I figured out you'll come back to your senses soon. But I guess cutting off some of your benefits isn't making you come back to your senses.”
“Ronan dragged me into an empty classroom on my way to class and literally almost strangled me… I got saved by Leonard and what? You're insisting I stay engaged to someone who's abusing me in a relationship when we're not married yet? I refuse to continue with the engagement and I stand firm on my decision….”
“If you're still insisting on being defiant…” my father interrupted. Ronan glared at me from the corner of the school dispensary.
“I might have to officially disown you as my daughter…” my mom gasped but immediately swallowed it back. My hands clenched around the bedsheet.
Ronan was the one who attacked me but somehow I'm the one getting punished for refusing to be with someone who has the tendency to abuse me. A confident look crossed Ronan's face. He was probably thinking that I would go along with what my dad's want because of that threat but I was going to surprise him.
“If you are willing to choose a political alliance over your daughter's safety then maybe I don't need a father like you…” my mother gasped again. Ronan looked at me, hope finally draining out of his face.
My dad's jaw clenched tightly. I threw the duvet on my body away and got down from the bed, slipping my legs back into my shoes.
I grabbed Leonard's hands and pulled him after him out of the room.
“Liora… do you have any idea what this would cost you?” My father asked again.
“I await you and the elders summoning to officially disown me as the Luna of the pack. I'm picking my peace over your happiness. If defying you will bring me the peace I need, then I'll gladly do that.” I walked out of the room and shut the door after us.
Leonard immediately stopped me and turned to pull me into his arms. The door of the room opened, my parents and Ronan stepped out. Ronan stopped in his tracks while my dad passed by us, a disappointed look on his face. My mom quietly followed behind him without a word and I didn't pay her any attention.
“I'm sorry I didn't come get you on time mama,” Leonard whispered against my neck. He buried his nose into the crook of my neck and it felt ticklish. I smiled, my gaze on Ronan watching us. I hugged him back, tightening my hands against him.
“I'm fine babe, he didn't hurt me.”
His body tensed at the mention of the name babe and I didn't know if I was imagining it or if he actually did pull me tighter against him.
Ronan let out a growl and brushed past us, an unreadable but angry look on his face. We pulled away from each other seconds later. He cupped my face gently and pressodd a kiss on my forehead.
“Let's go home, I'll call your boss and tell them you got into a little accident, you need some rest…” I was about disagreeing genuinely starting to imagine Ava's expression when she doesn't see me at work.
“I'm not giving you any room to argue with me, you're coming with me,” he said tightening his grip on my hands has he pulled me along with him. I stared at him as we headed to the car pack, my gaze fixated on his back.
My heart hammered heavily in my chest. My gaze kept flickering from the part where his hands held mine to his back as he concentrated on the road ahead of him.
My heart melted. At least if my fiance is an asshole, my fated mate treats me like an actual princess. If only my dad could stop trying to force me with Ronan then maybe it wouldn't actually hurt to give whatever me and Leonard have a chance.
Leonard opened the car door for me and I stepped inside, my mind racing. He got in beside me, starting the car almost immediately. His hands automatically found mine and my hands comfortably fitted into his,
I stared at our entwined fingers.
“About my dad telling about handing over his position to one of his children, what do you think I should do about it? I consider it?”
“Personally… I plan on leaving Ronan alone to claim the position, since he desperately wants it. I just assume I'll leave it to him because personally I have no interest in the position whatsoever. But at the end of the day I don't want to make decisions without carrying you along anymore.”
My heart fluttered at that simple gesture.
“I personally feel you should fight for it. Your right to the alpha position was wrongly taken away from you… you should do everything within your power to get the position back… if you just decided to let it get easier , he's going to assume you're backing out without a fight because you think he's going to win. Don't give him the benefit of that Leonard. Part of your revenge to him should also include getting your rightful position back.”
I tightened my grip on his hand immediately after I said that.
