Chapter 60 A Dangerous Obsession

Chapter 60 A Dangerous Obsession
LIORA'S POV

I slammed the door of my locker shut and was scanning through my textbooks to see if I forgot anything before making an attempt to walk. I passed by a class and suddenly a hand grabbed me and pulled me roughly into the classroom. I yelped and a hand covered my mouth.

I turned angrily to stare at the person and came face to face with Ronan.

“Just hear what I have to say,” he said, his expression sober.

“No… whatever it is you want to tell me I have zero interest in wanting to listen to whatever nonsense you have to spew. Stop disturbing my peace and stay away from me. You have Talia, you don't have to keep coming after me, stay with you whore and leave me be tell her to leave me alone too I have nothing to do with you both,” I angrily raved, my blood boiling.

“Sincerely you have to listen, see I promise I'm a changed man Liora, I'm no longer with Talia, I'm making up for the wrong I did… you just have to give me a chance to rectify my mistakes, Leonard isn't good for you. Are you willing to risk your position as the female Alpha of your pack? Stepping down from your riches and titles because of someone like him?” He asked, his voice etched with desperation.

“Yes I am…”

“Why do you want me back so badly anyways? Last time I checked you were confident that I'll come running back to you like an obedient pup? Not so confident anymore?” I asked.

“It's because I fucking love you Liora,” he said. I clenched my fists tightly, my acrylic nails digging painfully into my palm.

“No you don't… if you really did love me you wouldn't fuck my childhood best friend when you know we're engaged. You don't love me, you just love the idea of wanting to get anything you know your brother has, you're in love with having something you know he can't have… don't try to feed me with your cock and bull story.” I glared at him as I spat. His expression changed dangerously for a moment then it disappeared in an instant.

He went down on his knees instantly and stayed there.

“Please Liora, I need you in my life. I want you not Talia… I made a mistake and I know what I did was wrong I'm doing everything within my power to change to be a better person you just have to give us a chance.” I scoffed at him.

“Someone like you can never actually change.” With that, I didn't say anything more, I just turned and made to leave. Then I heard a low animalistic growl come from behind me.

My heart jumped. Every instinct screamed at me to get out of there fast. I reached for the door handle, fingers brushing the cold metal, when I heard the scrape of furniture behind me. Before I could yank the door open, something heavy whistled through the air.

A chair flew right over my head and smashed against the door with a loud crash. Wood splintered. The impact made the whole frame shake. I yelped and ducked instinctively, arms flying up to protect my head. My pulse hammered in my ears.

I spun around, fury burning in my chest. “What the hell is wrong with you?!”

Ronan’s eyes blazed with raw fury. His face had twisted into something ugly, nothing like the desperate guy who’d just been on his knees begging. This was the real Ronan…the one who couldn’t handle being told no.

He took three long strides toward me. I tried to back up, but the door was blocked by the broken chair. His hand shot out and wrapped around my throat. He slammed me against the wall hard enough that my vision blurred for a second.

I choked, gasping for air that wouldn’t come. My wolf surged forward in panic. Claws slid out from my fingertips with a sharp sting. I slashed at his arm, digging deep. Bright red scratch marks appeared on his skin, blood welling up instantly. But just as fast as I tore into him, the wounds started closing, healing right before my eyes.

Pain exploded in my neck where his claws dug in. It felt like fire spreading under my skin. I clawed harder, kicking at his legs, trying anything to break free. My lungs burned. Black spots danced in front of my eyes.

“If you’re not going to accept my apology nicely,” Ronan growled, voice low and dangerous, “then I’ll make you accept it forcefully.”

His grip tightened. I could feel my own pulse pounding against his fingers. I tried prying his hand away, but he was too strong. My nails raked at his wrist again and again, but it was useless. He wasn’t listening to reason. He just wanted control.

I wasn’t listening to his words anymore either. All I cared about was breathing. Just one breath. My legs felt weak. The room started tilting.

Then…bang!

The door flew open so hard it hit the wall. Ronan was ripped away from me like a rag doll. I collapsed to the floor, coughing violently. My throat felt raw, like I’d swallowed glass. Tears streamed down my face as I gasped for air, chest heaving. I touched my neck; it was wet with blood, but I could already feel the shallow cuts starting to come together r.

When I looked up, Leonard was on top of Ronan. His fists flew in a blur pounding into his brother’s face. Blood sprayed. Ronan tried to fight back, snarling and swinging, but Leonard was fueled by pure rage. He looked terrifying, eyes glowing with his wolf just under the surface.

“Leonard!” I croaked, my voice barely there. I pushed myself up on shaky legs, still coughing. “Stop! You’ll kill him!”

I stumbled forward and grabbed Leonard’s arm, trying to pull him back. He shook me off without even looking, too focused on beating Ronan into the ground. “Stay back, Liora!”

I tried again, reaching for his shoulder. “Please, he’s not worth it…”

He pushed me away harder this time, trying to get me out of the way. My foot caught on the broken chair leg. I lost my balance and fell backward. My head slammed against the edge of a desk with a sickening thud.

White-hot pain burst through my skull. The room spun violently. I heard shouting, growling, more crashing, but it all sounded far away, like underwater. My vision went fuzzy at the edges, then completely dark.

I blacked out.
