The Coronation Morning

The Coronation Morning
The first light of dawn bathed ShadowFang Pack in soft golden hues. The air was crisp, carrying the faint scent of pine and distant rivers. Today was no ordinary day—it was the day Damon would officially be crowned Alpha of both ShadowFang and Dam-Nighade Packs, and the North would witness the unification of two great lineages.

Elina woke with a mix of excitement and nervousness. She rose quietly from her bed, careful not to disturb Damon who had chosen to stay the night in her room. Though their bond was now official in their hearts, the formal ceremony still loomed. Today, they would stand before the entire Northern Pack and all allied packs to declare their authority and unity.

Later on, her reflection in the mirror made her pause. She was adorned in ceremonial silver and lavender robes, embroidered with the symbols of both packs. Her hair cascaded in waves, tied with a subtle silver ribbon, and her pendant—the one Damian had gifted her—hung proudly at her neck. She ran her fingers over it and smiled softly.

Damon stirred behind her, yawning.“Morning, Luna,” he said quietly, his voice rough from sleep. His eyes immediately locked on hers, and the warmth in them made her heart race.

“Good morning, Alpha,” she teased, turning slightly to face him. “Ready to be king?”

He smirked. “I’ve been ready since the moment you chose me as your mate.”

Elina blushed, shaking her head. “Cheeky as always.”

Outside, the pack was already buzzing with activity. Warriors polished their weapons and ceremonial armor. Omegas arranged the seating for Northern Pack delegates. Banners displaying the emblems of ShadowFang and Dam-Nighade fluttered in the gentle breeze, side by side.

Lucian walked among the preparations, ensuring everything was perfect. He caught sight of Liam and Susan heading out of her room, both in ceremonial garb, and nodded approvingly. The pride in his eyes was evident—his daughter had grown into a strong, capable mate, and his son-in-law was equally formidable.

Meanwhile, in Dam-Nighade Pack, Beta Matt had received word that the coronation would begin within three hour. Excited? he instructs the maids to hurry up, “This is not just Damon’s day,” he reminded them. “It is a celebration of unity. Both packs, once apart, now bound by trust and strength.”

Two hours later...

As Damon and Elina walked to the center of the arena, a hush fell. All eyes turned to them—the Alpha and Luna of the North, standing together, radiant and commanding.

Damon’s hand found Elina’s instinctively. He gave it a gentle squeeze, and she returned the gesture, her own fingers curling around his. They moved as one, a symbol of unity, trust, and strength.

Susan, watched silently, her eyes seems to drift occasionally towards her mate.

Damian stepped forward from his throne at the center of the arena, his presence commanding silence. He wore his ceremonial robes, the emblem of the Moon Goddess embroidered in gold on his chest.

“Today,” he began, his voice clear and powerful, “we witness not just the crowning of an Alpha, but the unity of our Northern Packs. Damon of ShadowFang and Elina of Dam-Nighade will stand together as leaders, mates, and protectors of our people.”

A murmur of excitement rippled through the crowd, and Elina’s hand tightened on Damon’s.

“Rise, Alpha Damon,” Damian continued. “Your courage, strength, and wisdom have been proven. You have earned the respect and loyalty of your pack, and now you shall officially take your place as leader.”

Damon kneeled before Damian, his posture solemn yet confident. Damian placed a ceremonial medallion around his neck, signifying his authority. The crowd erupted in cheers and howls, some warriors even throwing their weapons into the air in celebration.

“Alpha and as well Luna, Elina,” Damian said, turning to her, “you have come of age, and your loyalty, skill, and wisdom have been proven. You shall stand beside your mate as the Luna of the North. Together, you will guide your pack and the Northern territories in strength and honor.”

Elina’s heart pounded as she kneeled. Damian placed a delicate silver circlet upon her head, a symbol of her authority and union with Damon. The crowd’s cheers intensified, the howls echoing through the mountains.

Damon rose first, extending his hand to her. She took it, and the crowd erupted again, acknowledging the union of Alpha and Luna, bonded by choice, loyalty, and now destiny.

Damian’s eyes glinted with satisfaction. “Let this day mark the beginning of a new era,” he declared. “Strong, just, and united under Damon and Elina.” Ella couldn't hold herself anymore... tears welled flow down her cheeks whike she hugged Elina.

By the time the sun had slipped beneath the horizon, ShadowFang Pack was alive with vibrant light and music and dancing.

Elina walked beside Damon, the swirling emotions made her chest tighten. Years ago she was a little girl hiding in the shadows of trauma and fear. Now she walked into a new life filled with purpose.

Damon noticed her distant expression and leaned down slightly. “Don’t drift too far into your thoughts,” he murmured. “Tonight is ours.”

His voice snapped her back gently, and she smiled. “Sorry… I’m still adjusting to everything, as Luna ” she confessed.

“You’ll get used to everyone staring,” Damon teased. “I’ve lived with it all my life.”

She nudged him with her elbow. “You’re impossible.”

“That’s why you love me.” She didn’t deny it.

As they took their seats at the head table, Damian rose again,

“Tonight,” he announced, “we celebrate —” He paused, eyes softening toward Damon and Elina. “—we celebrate the beginning of a new era.”

The crowd erupted in applause.

Lucian and Liam brought out ceremonial wine, poured into carved stone goblets. Damon raised his cup, glancing sideways at Elina.

“To the future,” he said.

“To us,” she replied. They drank, and the feast continued.

Across the courtyard, Beta Matt and his mate Sofia approached with a baby bump visible beneath her robes. When Elina spotted them, she gasped and stood immediately.

“Sofia! I didn’t know you’d come tonight!” Both girls had bonded closely when Sofia was getting treatment in the pack back then

“The future Luna and Alpha are being crowned,” Sofia said with a bright smile. “Of course we had to come—and bring blessings from Dam-Nighade Pack.”

Elina embraced her tightly. Damon shook hands with Matt, both men gripping forearms like brothers in arms.

“The pack speaks highly of you,” Damon said. “And we of you,” Matt replied. “We couldn’t have asked for a better Alpha for our people.”

Even Theo, quiet but dignified, approached later, bowing respectfully to Damon and Elina.

“You have restored honor to my family,” Theo said quietly to Damian. “And I will forever be loyal.”

Damian nodded firmly. “Then stand with us now. Let your daughter’s reign heal what was broken.”

Later, after speaking with dozens of pups, warriors, and elders, Damon tugged Elina gently away from the noise. They slipped into the lantern-lit garden behind the hall, where only the hum of distant music reached them.

Elina exhaled. “I didn’t realize being Luna meant so much talking.”

“You handled it better than I expected,” Damon teased softly. “Almost like you were already one.”

She brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. “I’m trying. I want to be worthy.”

Damon stepped closer, his expression turning serious..“Elina… you are more than worthy. Even before the crown. Even before the mate bond.”

Her breath caught as he lifted her hand and kissed her knuckles slowly. The bond flared warmly between them, making her knees weaken.

“Damon…” she whispered.

He cupped her face gently. “I’m yours—completely. And I will protect you, support you, and stand beside you. Always.”

Her throat tightened. “I love you.”

“And I’ve loved you long before fate marked you as mine.”
