Chapter 85 Hiding the truth

Chapter 85 Hiding the truth
"King?" Tessha asked, surprised.

Gremus and Ayessha turned to her.

"Yes, he was our Valentine's Prom King," Ayessha quickly explained, relieved she'd come up with something.

She didn't want Tessha to know the truth about her identity, as that was Queen Thelia's wish. She wanted her daughter to live a normal life, free from worries.

Gremus nodded along and went with the flow.

"Yes, Tessha, your mom and I were college classmates. And I'm here to talk to her about the upcoming reunion," he said with a smile.

"Okay, I'll go get changed, Mommy. Excuse me, Professor Gremus," Tessha said, and excused herself.

Ayessha let out a deep sigh. Thank goodness she'd come up with an alibi!

"Let's talk," Gremus said.

"Not here, let's go outside," Ayessha replied seriously.

Her smile had vanished, replaced by a worried expression.

The day had finally come – they'd been found by someone from the Immortal realm!

She'd rather deal with Gremus than the merciless Kerru. But if he tries to take Tessha, she won't back down!

"I'll say it straight – I won't give Tessha to you," Ayessha said firmly.

"She's my wife, Ayessha," Gremus said seriously.

Ayessha was taken aback.

"What? When did you become Tessha's husband? Queen Thelia sent her to the human realm so you wouldn't kill her!" she shouted angrily.

"We met last Halloween. And we have a blood oath," Gremus replied casually.

"What?" Ayessha was shocked again.

"They've only met once on Halloween?" Ayessha thought to herself.

"Don't worry, I won't hurt her. I'm trying to find a way to solve this prophecy," Gremus said calmly, trying not to argue with Ayessha.

He was there to warn her, not to fight.

"Can I trust you?" Ayessha asked hesitantly.

"Yes, you can. I'm here to warn you – Kerru and the Evil Emperor are in the human realm. But because of my barrier, they can't hurt humans... for now," Gremus explained.

"That's why I saw him!" Ayessha exclaimed.

Gremus furrowed his brow. He'd sensed Kerru's presence earlier. He needed to strengthen the barrier to keep them out!

"Where? Are you sure?" he asked quickly.

"At the waiting area near Tessha's school. And he didn't see me, probably because of the barrier. But he heard my voice, Gremus. I'm scared for Tessha's safety," Ayessha said, frightened.

"He can't cross the barrier, don't worry. For now, let's keep this a secret," Gremus said.

"Why? I thought you said you met on Halloween and Tessha knows you two are married?" Ayessha asked, confused.

Gremus sighed deeply.

"No, she doesn't know anything. I erased her memories. She doesn't know me at all. I don't want to ruin her life. I also want to protect her from this chaos," he explained.

"I understand, but Tessha will hate you. She'll hate us. I hope she never finds out," Ayessha said sadly.

"What are you talking about, Mommy?" Tessha asked, appearing behind them.

They were startled.

"Huh? What are you doing here, Tessha?" Ayessha asked, surprised.

"I'm hungry, Mommy. Let's eat," Tessha replied.

But she didn't want to ask her mom any more questions. She just felt something was off.

"Ah, Gremus. Join us for dinner," Ayessha invited.

She couldn't just send the King of Metodenia away!

"Sure," Gremus replied.

As they eat, Tessha struggled to swallow her food. The atmosphere felt awkward, especially with Gremus there.
She is nervous and couldn't explain what she feels as of the moment.

They finished dinner, and Tessha is still lost in thought.

"Tessha, escort Gremus out," Ayessha instructed.

When Gremus went home, Tessha had a nightmare that night...

"Tessha, you're the Evil heiress that will bring calamity to the world. The daughter of the Evil Deity! Hahaha," a voice said.

Tessha looked around. It is dark and scary.
She is in the middle of nowhere, alone!

"Who are you and what are you talking about?" she asked.

"The forgetful, Tessha. I'm your playmate. Don't you remember me?" the voice replied.

"I don't know you! And where am I?" Tessha asked, confused.

"Oh, Gremus erased your memories? How could he do this! Poor Tessha, hahaha!" the voice taunted.

"Gremus? You know Professor Gremus?" Tessha asked quickly.

"Of course! And you know him too," the voice replied.

"Of course I know him, he's my professor," Tessha said.

"Where am I?" she asked herself.

She runs, but she couldn't find a way out. It was like she is running in an endless circle.

"Why is this happening? Where am I?" Tessha asked, on the verge of tears.

"Tsk! You're so weak as a human. Remember when we fought? Unleash your dark side, Tessha. Unleash your evil power and let's conquer the world!" the voice shouted.

"I'm not evil, go away!" Tessha yelled angrily.

"You're the heiress of the Evil deity, Tessha. Evilness is in your blood. You're powerful!" the voice said.

Tessha is getting frustrated with the voice that wouldn't show itself.

"Get out! Who are you?" she demanded.

"I told you, I'm your playmate. But this time, I won't eat my prey. I'll awaken you, hahaha!" the voice laughed again.

Tessha is furious with the voice!

"Get out! Leave me alone!" she shouted.

"I'll be back, Tessha. I'll keep coming back until you become the Evil heiress!" the voice said.

"No, I'm not Evil! I'm not!" Tessha screamed.

Ayessha rushed to Tessha's room, hearing her cry out.

"Wake up, Tessha! Wake up!" she said, shaking her.

Tessha woke up crying.

"Mommy! I had a bad dream. I'm not Evil!" Tessha said.

Ayesha hugged her immediately.

"Shhh, you're not Evil, Tessha. It's just a dream," she said, stroking her back.

"You won't become evil, Tessha, I promise," she whispered.

She'd do everything to protect Tessha, no matter what.
