Chapter 150 If he can take the fall for me, then so be it.

Chapter 150 If he can take the fall for me, then so be it.
Bowie was covered in injuries.
He glanced at the centipede-like scar on the older man's right eyebrow and shook his head. "No, Mr. Chama. You saved my life in Somalia, rescued me from the pirates. I've never forgotten that debt of gratitude."
Chama averted his gaze from Bowie and said slowly, "Actually, Patrick rescued you from the Somali pirates back then, not me."
Bowie froze on the spot.
"What did you say?" His pupils contracted sharply, and his eyes stared at Chama in disbelief. "You said it yourself back then. You explained in detail how you rescued me from the pirates..."
Chama smiled faintly, cutting him off. "I was on that merchant ship. I saw with my own eyes how Patrick rescued you."
"If I hadn't said that, would a retired international special forces operative like you have been willing to risk your life for me?"
Bowie clenched his teeth. "You?!
"How despicable!" His fists were clenched so tightly that they creaked.
The rage he had been holding back surged to his head, and the last shred of his sanity vanished completely.
He ground out the words through clenched teeth. "So all these years, you've been using the story of Uncle Patrick saving me as a pretext to take advantage of me?"
"Yes, you're right. I have been using you," Chama sneered.
Fire blazed in Bowie's eyes as he lifted his foot to charge forward.
Suddenly, several black gun barrels appeared above his head, and Chama's men pinned him down at gunpoint.
"Mr. Chama using you is a sign of respect—don't be ungrateful!" John said, kicking Bowie's prosthetic leg.
Forced to his knees, Bowie gritted his teeth and glared at the old man. "So the whole thing with Uncle Patrick—was that your doing, too?"
Chama smiled. "It was his good fortune to take the fall for me."
After the failed meeting with Jacob on Liberty Haven Island that day, he was shot and jumped into the sea, escaping to the ferry landing by the ST River.
Patrick happened to be there handing out flyers for the hotel's grand opening when a gang member's bullet accidentally hit him.
Chama took advantage of the chaos to have someone stab Patrick in the stomach, then kick him into the river.
This made the wound look more serious, making it easier for people to jump to conclusions.
Chama had sent a woman, who was carrying the bullet extracted from Patrick's body, to the hotel.
There, she staged another charade to mislead Ethan.
The goal was to make people believe that Patrick was the man behind the false identity, "Chama."
Chama's people also ran the scar-removal clinic in South Korea.
Chama continued to cast his fishing rod at a leisurely pace, smiling. "Look, Bowie, it's time to reel it in."
Bowie couldn't wrap his head around it. "What grudge do you have against Uncle Patrick that you'd go to such lengths to set him up?"
Chama snorted. "If I hadn't laid out this elaborate scheme to make him take the fall for me, do you think the international arrest warrant that's been out for me for ten years would've ever been lifted?"
"As for what grudge or feud?" He smiled, his voice darkening. "You're not in a position to know."
Bowie tried to struggle, but his men pushed him back down forcefully. "You old man, you're really quite devious…"
Chama chuckled. "If I weren't devious, how could I have evaded wave after wave of international manhunts and hidden safely for ten years?
Even someone as shrewd as Ethan has been kept in the dark by me.
The whole world knows I'm dead."
Chama tossed aside the fishing rod.
His eyes were cloudy, but his gaze was vicious. "Bowie, as long as you disappear forever, I won't have anything to worry about."
Bowie ground out each word through gritted teeth. "Ethan won't let you off the hook. You can scheme all you want, but he's not a pawn you can manipulate."
Chama raised his foot and stomped down on the fishing rod.
SNAP!
The rod broke in two.
He kicked the broken piece aside and said, "I'll take that madman Ethan down sooner or later.
Now, it's your turn to be out of the game."
Bowie jerked his elbow to shove the person next to him aside.
But the person behind him had already pulled the trigger.
BANG!
The bullet flew out.

At the international airport.
Ethan raised his hand to remove his sunglasses, revealing sharp eyes.
The depths of his eyes were as cold as ice and devoid of warmth.
The bustling airport concourse fell silent wherever his gaze landed.
"Mr. Edwards."
Boris strode over and said in a hushed voice, "We found out that Miss Hayes bought a first-class ticket to New Zealand. The plane has already taxied onto the runway, and there are less than 50 seconds until takeoff."
Ethan casually hooked his sunglasses onto his collar and set off with long strides. "Notify the control tower to delay the flight."
