Chapter 2 The Situation Was Serious!
Amina rushed to the wedding headquarters in a frenzy. She was going crazy because she didn't expect to run into a scoundrel and scum when she just came to London, but also slept with him all night. Every time she thought about it, she hated the man very much.
There was still the latest batch of customer data from headquarters after work tomorrow on her phone. If she lost it, she was not sure how to deal with it. After she received the scumbag's message, she hurried to the wedding company's headquarters, took the elevator to the thirty-second floor, and climbed the stairs to the top floor!
As soon as she stepped on the rooftop, the cold wind whistled and blew her long hair. She immediately felt a bit cold and shouted towards the figure in front of her, "Scum, give me back my mobile phone. Here is your mobile phone."
Carl looked back at her, and stared at her face for a moment. He had to admit that she was a really pretty woman, having arched eyebrows, oval face, with fair and delicate skin, but unfortunately she was a bar girl.
Carl sighed and put his phone on the rooftop fence and said, "There are plenty of people who call me scum, and you're not the only one. I put my phone up there. Come get it yourself."
Amina raised her foot and moved, then shrank back, said in a weak voice, "You help me bring it over. I'm afraid of heights."
"Aha"
Carl laughed, "So you are afraid of heights. It couldn't be better."
Amina looked nervous and said with great confusion, "What do you mean?"
Carl didn't say anything, walked over to get his phone, and then rushed out of the iron door of the penthouse very fast. Before Amina reacted, with a bang, Carl had already closed the iron door and drew the door latch.
"I'm just here to help you overcome your fear of heights, girl, so be good and stay up there. I'm leaving." Carl laughed, having the superiority of a successful prank.
"Bang bang!"
Amina pushed the door, but the iron door did not move. She cursed angrily, "You are a scum and shameless man. Quickly open the door."
"You just enjoy a nice cold breeze. The wind will calm you down and help you get over your fear of heights. You get a double advantage."
The sound of Amina's cursing came from the doorway, and the sound grew softer and softer that Carl went downstairs as if he hadn't heard it.
"Scum, you are so childish. I'll never let you go next time I meet you!"
On the rooftop, Amina blushed with anger and shouted, then looked at the phone on the guardrail at the edge of the rooftop and slowly moved.
At the front desk of the wedding headquarter, Carl stopped, and said to the girl at front desk seriously, "A couple trying on wedding dresses is locked up on the rooftop, so remember to go up there and have a look."
Out of the wedding headquarters, Carl noticed that it had been one o'clock in the afternoon, and immediately rushed to work. There was talk of the new boss everywhere in the headquarters, and Carl was silent and drowsy.
He was worried about his own work, Edward was the director of the planning department, and had no close relation with the personnel department. Therefore, Edward might be unable to deal with the layoffs successfully, and it was likely that he would really be fired.
He wasn't in great need of the job. If he was fired, he could find another job again. He felt guilty that Edward found many jobs for him, but he didn't work at those posts for a long time. If it wasn't for his best friend Edward helping him in all respects these past few years, he would have had a tough time.
But whenever there was the slightest chance, he wanted to grab hold of it, not wanting to bother Edward. After all, no matter how shameless he was and how good friendship they had, Carl still knew himself well enough.
He finally made it to the end of his shift, so he dragged Edward to the headquarters restaurant to ask about the layoffs.
Edward was sweating and lit his cigarette, "I mentioned this when I met my new boss at noon."
"New boss? I heard it's a woman. Is she pretty?" Carl also lit his cigarette and said.
"Whether she's pretty or not, it's nothing to do with you anyway. She's the boss's daughter and flew from the island to take over the sub-headquarters. She made a big layoff when she came here, so she must have wanted to do something good. It is not easy to secure advantages through her influence."
"What else is there for me to do?" Carl was a bit depressed and felt that he couldn't get through the layoff.
Edward said, "I snuck over to the HR department this afternoon to ask about the layoffs, and they said the detailed list hasn't been finalized yet. It can't be rushed. I'll go over to the planning department sometime and put in a good word for you."
"Well, thank you, Edward. Come on, back off and I'll kowtow to you."
"Fuck off, I'm bored with you. Hey, by the way, has that woman who was at your house left yet? It's been a few days."
Carl was angry about it, and he threw the cigarette butt into the trash can, raised his voice and said, "Don't mention it. Do you think I've had bad luck lately? I kindly asked her to come over to my house to get out of the rain, but she wouldn't go away, eating and drinking freely in my house all day. What's the point of having settle one's young lady in my house when I can't even feed myself."
Carl was overly excited and pounded the table with his hand, making a crackling sound, as he continued, "She said she was working as a model and the first time she came to London, she lost her wallet, her ID and bank card. Finally, she had nowhere to go. Hey, do you think I'm an idiot. I actually believe this kind of crap from her. Now she is in my house and won't leave. I'm telling you, the world of modelling is full of obscenity. Models can do anything for money."
However, Edward retorted upon him, "Not every models do that. If you don't believe her, report it to the police. But that girl is quite pretty. Why don't you make an effort to let her become your girlfriend, so she can continuously stay in your house."
"Come on, what she wears is from famous brands. I can't even support myself. I can't afford her a bag even I sell my kidney. I reckon that she is a vain woman, and I have to think of a way to get rid of this woman tonight!"
Edward smiled, "I'm not going to talk to you anymore. The new boss is going to take over tomorrow and will definitely have to meet with everyone at headquarters, especially the planning department. Get there early and don't be late, and remember to wear a suit tomorrow instead of jeans to make it formal."
"Stop saying bullshit! Don't just stand there blocking my cell signal."
Edward smiled and walked away with his briefcase.
Carl smoked another cigarette before slowly walking out of the restaurant, returning to his place of residence alone in desolation.
Before entering the house, he noticed the TV on so loud inside that even standing outside in the hallway he could hear it clearly. He was angry and opened the door. It was dark inside, and only the TV was playing a horror movie A Wicked Ghost, with the stereo on extra loud.
There was something wrong with residential security, because no one even complained about all the noise.
In front of the TV, a woman nestled on the couch, staring at the TV with her big eyes, her hands over her lips, screaming from time to time. She was enjoying watching it.
This was the woman mentioned by Edward. She had been staying on Carl's house and won't leave, and she was named Paisley!
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Paisley looked back, her bright eyes rolling around, and smiled playfully revealing two dimples, "You're back. Come see the movie. It's good."
Carl turned on the light, and the darkened house was bright.
He kept angry the whole time, walked straight to the TV, then sat down gravely and glared at Paisley, "I think we should have a nice talk. You have to go today. I can't afford you!"
Paisley opened her big, bright eyes and pretended to stare at Carl innocently and pitifully, "Carl , I started my period! I can't go."
What the fuck did it matter if she was on her period?
Carl was instantly confused!
