Amelia‘s p.o.v
I was in tears and still trembling in fear.
My mate had hurt me yet again, and this time I was more scared of him than I had ever been.
Never was there a day I had thought such a day would come, where I would fear the very person I was destined to be with.
“Get up.” My wolf ordered.
I groaned in pain ignoring the burning ache on my neck and stood up.
“Follow him.” My wolf commanded me.
“What?” I asked in disbelief.
“Follow him.” She ordered. “Are you insane!” I spat loudly. Was she crazy! Did she not witness how brutal he was with us, not to forget how he hated us.
“Do it Amelia or I will.” She growled furiously and in her tone, I could tell that she was very serious. 1
I slowly began to follow where he had gone with a loud beating heart and dry throat. “He will hurt us again.” I whispered in silence knowing fully well she was hearing my words.
“He is our mate.” She replied. This time in a pained tone.
“He doesn‘t want us.” I said sadly as tears filled my eyes.
I knew it was hard to accept but that was the actual truth. If he wanted us he would have waited for us no matter what.
I inhaled his scent a few meters away and that made me stop my movements for a second.
I was scared but also I didn‘t want my wolf taking over, there was no guessing what she would do or say to him. Just because I couldn‘t shift it didn‘t stop her from trying to make her presence known.
I swallowed hard then approached what looked like a training field. Low grunts were coming from my left side and labored sighs.
I turned and saw my mate angrily hitting a punching bag that was hung on a tree. His actions alone made me feel threatened and I quickly began moving backward.
When he stopped and turned to face me, I quickly halted my movements.
My chest was raising and falling and my hands began to slightly tremble. “You again.” He growled loudly. I found myself turning in an instant to run away, but my hand was held by him. I was dragged forcefully and pushed against the tree roughly making it shake.
“Alpha I.....mmm.” his hand on my mouth made me hold in my breath.
“You are fucking getting on my nerves do you know that?” He asked coldly as I breathed out and froze “What exactly do you want from me huh. First of all, you are alive and in good health, as if that wasn‘t enough, I gave you a better title than all the sluts in my pack and that‘s my wife‘s slave, vet you aren‘t satisfied by it are you!” He exclaimed in a loud tone with emphasis.
What! Was he okay in the head! Was making me a slave to that bitch a favor!
That was the worst thing a mate could ever do besides rejection!. I was to serve the very same woman who took what rightfully belonged to me. Which part of better was he referring to!
“You look as if you have something to say.” He said then dropped his hand from my mouth.
I took in a deep breath and released it. What I was about to say would cost me my life, but to hell with it all, I was going to take my chances.
“That‘s not a favor you are referring to, that‘s torture. How could I stand serving the very woman who has taken you away from me.” I answered seriously.
He widened his eyes and took a step back.
“You are my mate Ian no matter how hard you try to reject it. A part of you knows that, I can feel it. That‘s why you need me.” I whispered under my breath.
He lifted his hand and rubbed his forehead slightly before bursting out in laughter startling
What! Why? Why was he laughing out of the blues, were my words funny to him? Or did he see me so pathetic that I was like a joke to him?
“You have a fucking minute to disappear from my sight. If you won‘t, I swear to the moon goddess that I will kill you.” He said strongly.
I could hear the anger and truth in his words. I quickly rushed past him but stopped when I heard him groan in what seemed like pain. “Go back” My wolf said in a panicked voice.
“No,” I answered, then took a step forward when I heard a loud thud behind me.
I quickly turned and rushed to him. He was kneeling on the ground with both hands on each side of his head, his growls were low and they sounded really painful.
“Sh..it.” He whispered in a cracked voice then groaned loudly.
I quickly knelt beside him and put my hand on his forehead ignoring my wolf‘s whimpers of worry and the erupted tingles,
Sweat was forming there and his temperature was high.
“Ian, what‘s wrong?” I asked in concern. “Fuck off.” He spat then shoved me slightly from him.
When he groaned loudly again, I quickly moved, closing the space between us, and wrapped my arms around his waist resting my head against his chest.
“Please moon goddess, let this help him in any way.” I whispered sadly as I embraced myself to be pushed or hit by him. I had heard some elders back then in my pack talk about how a mate‘s touch was useful to his other half. Even in the hardest of times or painful moments, just a touch was enough to soothe one from the bad ache.
Ian‘s touch back then made me feel so good and wanted, it also took my mind off things and drew me in. I didn‘t know if he felt the same way or not, all I could do was hope that I was of help to him. When he moved his hands I tensed but got shocked when he wrapped his arms around me, resting his head against mine. As seconds turned into minutes, all I could feel was the warmth of his body and his rapid beating heart that was slowly calming down.
My body began to relax and I found myself enjoying his warmth and my eyes were becoming heavy.
