Edwina's POV
There was nothing left for me to do, and my fate was sealed. Lucian knew everything now. There was no way he was going to let me live after finding out what I had conspired, and the fact that both Elena and Lana were in a coma thanks to me. I could see the rage in Lucian's eyes, and I could already tell what he was going to do. But at least if I was going to die, I would let him know just how badly he had hurt me.
"How could you be so ruthlessly evil?" I heard Lucian saying.
"How could I be so ruthlessly evil? It's you that should be asking that question to yourself, not me. All along, you cradled me and gave me the feelings that we had a life together. I always thought that the both of us were going to have a child one day and grow old. But then, just because I couldn't produce children for you, you went looking for another breeder," I said, trying to fight back the tears.
"Well, of course I did. Why wouldn't I? I am the Alpha, and my bloodline needs to be passed on. What would make you think that I would remain with a woman who is unable to bear children when there are many others who could easily provide me with an heir? This is madness, Edwina, and you being paranoid over the fact that Elena and I were falling in love with each other doesn't make you being responsible for over a thousand deaths right. You should know that you are guilty and own up to it before you die," Lucian said in anger.
"You think I was just going to let some low-life slut walk in and destroy everything I had built? No, I was never going to let that happen, and I knew that she was going to be a problem as soon as I saw her. As soon as I saw her, I had this feeling that she was going to be a lot more than she looked. And then when I saw you looking at her differently, I knew that I needed to get rid of her. Things got more and more complicated thanks to how close the two of you were getting. There was no way I was going to allow everything I had built all along to be snatched from me so suddenly. I did everything to make you mine, and yet you didn't think twice before abandoning me. You should be the one apologizing," I said, holding back tears.
"And Lana? You were willing to kill your sister just so she wouldn't find out what you did. You are, in every sense of the word... despicable. Lana is your own blood sister, and the two of you grew up together. How could it be that you were willing to do that without a second thought? To think that I had such great plans for the two of us. I guess the Moon Goddess does know how to do her things," Lucian said.
"Don't give me that crap. That bitch had it coming. Ever since we were little, she's always been jealous of me because I could get things she could never have. I was born with my own charm and certain things on my body that Lana was not. She's always hated me and wanted me dead, and as soon as she saw Elena, that was her one chance. She befriended Elena and used Elena to get to me. Elena is such a dumb bitch; she couldn't even realize she was being manipulated. It seems you don't like smart women, Lucian, now do you? Rather than have a genius mastermind who could think 10 steps ahead, you'd rather have a pawn who is being used by everyone possible. I always thought you to be a smart and selective man, but now I know different. You ask me why I would murder Lana without any hesitation? Because as soon as Lana gets away and is well enough to speak, she won't hesitate to expose me. What do you think will happen then, huh? Do you think all will be forgiven and the both of us will fall in love and live a happy life? Unfortunately, as soon as Lana opens her big mouth, everything will go to hell, and that is why I was willing to murder her. For someone who has murdered his own father, you sure have quite the mouth on you. You say we are related by blood and then somehow I shouldn't murder her, but you murdered your own father who sired you and brought you to this world. He taught you everything you know and showed you the ropes on how to survive. To be honest, you have committed a greater crime than I have, and you are in no position to judge me," I said in rage and fury to Lucian.
"Don't you dare mention my father. Don't talk about him ever. What my father and I did or whatever happened is my personal business and not yours. But since you are going to die in a few moments, I guess you deserve to know and at least take it to your grave. You weren't around when my father did the things he did to me. All in the name of training, I was basically being tortured every day, psychologically and physically. I was undergoing training that no one my age or even older than me could comprehend. At the age of 6, I was doing training meant for 25-year-olds, and it broke my body. My father never showed any remorse or emotion toward me, and you really believe that when I had the chance, I wouldn't kill him? He had what he had coming, and so do you. Lana never hurt you directly, and if you hadn't tried to murder Elena several times, she wouldn't have had to blurt out your evil deeds. You have the seed of evil in you, Edwina, and that is why you are going to die here today," Lucian said with a sad look in his eyes.
"Oh, you're going to kill me then? Go ahead. Why don't you go ahead and do it already? Why the delay? Maybe you should have done it immediately after you got the news, but no, somehow you are hesitating. Why is that, Lucian? Why are you hesitating at such a crucial moment? Or could it be that the feelings you have for me won't let you?" I said, trying to find an expression on his face.
"Edwina, you should know that if I ever felt something for you, it's long dead, and there is no redeeming it. But before I killed you, I wanted you to at least apologize or feel sorry for yourself, but no. You clearly don't want to take the chance, and I'm going to have to kill you in a way that ruins my memory. At a certain part of my life, you were the most valuable thing to me, but now you are the thing I loathe the most. Do you have any last words, Edwina?" Lucian asked.
His words made me realize just how close I was to death and that there was no escaping it. Running wasn't an option, and begging wasn't an option either. I was not going to let my last moment in this world be of me begging pathetically. Lucian was going to kill me, and there was no alternative. Even if he didn't do it and decided to let me go, Lana would probably hunt me down and kill me for what was done to her. Lana and I had always been at loggerheads, and we never agreed with each other. And that was why I didn't even think twice when I decided to cause her pain when we were younger.
"Lana, I've been waiting for you. What took you so long?" Ryan's innocent voice said as he threw his fishing rod in the river. He and Lana were supposed to meet together that day, but unfortunately, Lana was sick, and I decided to meet the boy she was so crazy about.
"Lana isn't here. Unfortunately, she's feeling under the weather, and you are just going to have to deal with it," I said coldly to him.
As soon as he heard my words, he turned around and stared at me in shock. "What are you doing here?" he asked, immediately stopping what he was doing.
"I came to see the boy who has been driving my sister crazy all along," I said and slowly began to approach him. I knew that my destiny was to get married to someone who was rich and would continually take care of me until I grew old. If that were to happen, I needed to be a master at seduction. And I chose Ryan as my first practice toy.
In an instant, he was fully erect and stammering. I could tell exactly what he was thinking, and I was surprised at how good I was.
"So, what do you think? Are you impressed, or are you disappointed?" he asked, curious as to what my opinion was.
"Well, I can't fully know for sure until I've had a taste." In the next moment, he was frantically groping me, and the pleasure of what Lana would think if she saw it made me feel even better. We met more and more when Ryan began to blow Lana off to have me.
Ryan continuously told me just how much he appreciated me more than my sister and wished that he had known me earlier. I said nothing but simply relished the idea of how easy it was for me to control him. Eventually, Lana found out about it, and it broke her heart. I didn't really care because many times Lana had tried to get back at me for minor annoyances I caused her.
My life's dream was to marry someone wealthy and have him take care of me. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and no matter what I did, it seemed that I was doomed for this horrible end. So long as both Elena and Lana followed too, I couldn't really care less.
"I'll see you in hell, you son of a bitch!" I screamed at Lucian's face right before my heart was removed from my chest.
