Chapter 82 SPECIAL CHAPTER 1
Brienne stood in the bathroom, tapping her foot against the floor as she anxiously waited for the result of the pregnancy test in her hand. Each passing second felt like an eternity.
It had been two years since their wedding, and Raven was just as loving as ever. Their life together had been filled with joy, and they had even spent two wonderful months in Barbados after their marriage. Now, with Raeya already five years old, Brienne longed for another baby to complete their growing family.
"Please, she whispered, gripping the test tightly. She had been hoping for this moment, and now, all she could do was wait.
Brienne's eyes filled with tears as she stared at the two clear lines on the test—positive. She was pregnant! A wave of emotions rushed over her, joy mixing with relief. No wonder she had been feeling extra moody these past few weeks.
She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. Carefully, she placed the pregnancy test back in its box and wiped the tears from her face. She needed to be sure.
Wasting no time, Brienne stepped out of the bathroom and got dressed. She had to see Sam at the pack hospital to confirm the pregnancy. With a hand resting gently on her stomach, she smiled softly before heading out the door.
Brienne arrived at the hospital and parked her car. Her heart was pounding with excitement and nervousness as she made her way to Sam’s office. Taking a deep breath, she knocked on the door.
"Come in," Sam called out.
Brienne turned the knob and pushed the door open, stepping inside to see Sam flipping through some paperwork.
"I’m not interrupting, am I?" Brienne asked playfully. Sam looked up and grinned.
"Luna Brienne! Of course not. Come, have a seat," he said, motioning to the chair in front of him.
Brienne smiled and took a seat.
"What brings you here, Luna? Are you feeling unwell?" he asked with concern.
"Sort of," Brienne admitted. "I took a pregnancy test this morning, and it came out positive. But I need confirmation," she added, her hands fidgeting slightly. Sam’s face lit up.
"Well then, let’s find out for sure," he said, standing up.
Brienne followed him to the examination room, where he ran a few tests, including an ultrasound. As Sam carefully checked the screen, a knowing smile appeared on his face.
"Congratulations, Luna," he said warmly. "You’re definitely pregnant," he added.
Brienne’s eyes welled up with tears of happiness. She placed a hand on her stomach, her heart swelling with love.
"Oh my god! I can't believe it," she whispered. Sam chuckled.
"Raeya's finally a big sister," Sam said. "I'll prescribe you some vitamins," he added.
"Thank you, Sam," she replied. Brienne wiped her eyes and smiled. She couldn’t wait to tell Raven about the good news.
Brienne went home and saw her husband and daughter playing together. She walked toward them and placed a soft kiss on Raeya’s cheek.
"Hello, my loves. Is work done, love?" Brienne asked as she sat on Raven’s lap.
Raven wrapped his arms around her waist and leaned against her back.
"Yes, love. Raeya had fun playing with the warriors today. What did you do again, Rae?" Raven asked, smiling.
"I rode on Uncle Carter’s back!" Raeya said excitedly. "Mama, I want to be a wolf too!" she added, her eyes full of wonder.
"My love, you are a wolf," Brienne chuckled.
"Yes, Rae, you are a wolf like Pala and Aunt Ravena," Raven said gently. "You’ll shift for the first time on your sixteenth birthday. Your aunt and I will be there to help you," he added. Raeya’s forehead creased as she raised her fingers to count.
"That’s too long, Papa," she said, pouting her lips. Brienne laughed and reached for her daughter.
"Come here, love," she said.
Raeya walked over and sat on Brienne’s lap.
"You just have to wait a little longer, okay?" Brienne said, stroking her hair. Raeya sighed dramatically.
"Okay, fine," she replied. Brienne smiled, then turned to Raven.
"Love, can you invite them tomorrow?"
"Why, darling?" he asked. "Of course, I’ll invite them," he added.
Brienne smiled warmly and closed her eyes for a moment, cherishing the beautiful moment with her little family—one that would soon grow.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the windows as Brienne slowly opened her eyes. She turned to see Raven still asleep beside her, his arm wrapped around her. Smiling, she gently moved his hair away from his face before carefully getting out of bed.
Down the hall, she heard Raeya’s laughter. Peeking into her daughter’s room, she found her playing with her stuffed animals, making them “talk” to each other.
"Good morning, love," Brienne said, kissing her daughter's forehead. Raeya grinned.
"Good morning, Mama! Are Grandma and Grandpa coming?" she asked. Brienne chuckled.
"Yes, after breakfast, love. Go wash up with Lily, sweetheart," she said, and Lily took Raeya away.
Brienne sat on the couch, her fingers gently running through Raeya’s soft hair as the little girl leaned against her after Lily bathed and dressed her up. Raven sat beside them, his arm draped over Brienne’s shoulders, rubbing small circles on her arm.
“They should be here soon,” Raven said, glancing at the door.
Brienne nodded, her heart beating a little faster. She was excited but also nervous to share the news.
A few minutes later, footsteps echoed through the hall, followed by the familiar voices of Raven’s family.
"We’re here!" Ravena called out as she entered, followed by Cecil and Arthur. Raeya quickly sat up.
"Grandma! Grandpa!" she squealed, running toward them with open arms. Cecil scooped her up, kissing her cheek.
"Oh, my sweet girl! I missed you," she said. Arthur chuckled.
"We just saw you yesterday, little one," he said.
"What about me, my little wolf?" Ravena asked, pretending to be hurt, making everyone laugh.
"Aunt! You're my favorite," Raeya said, melting Ravena’s heart.
"Ha! Did you all hear that?" Ravena said proudly. "Now, what does my favorite niece want? Aunt will buy it for you," she added.
"Sis!" Raven exclaimed, but Ravena just rolled her eyes at him.
"Oh, come on, it's just one toy. Right, Rae-Rae?" Ravena asked.
Raeya giggled and nodded eagerly.
"Just one toy, please," Brienne said with a small smile. "She already has too many to play with. We're actually planning to donate some to charity," she added.
"That’s a great idea," Cecil said. "It’ll teach her about sharing with other kids." She then turned to Ravena.
"And Ven, stop spoiling her," she said and crossed her arms.
"Didn’t you just buy her a small electric car?" Ravena asked with a smirk. Cecil glared at her daughter and cleared her throat.
"It was just one," she mumbled, making everyone laugh.
Ravena plopped down onto the couch beside Brienne and grinned.
"Alright, Luna, what’s this meeting about?" she asked playfully.
Brienne took a deep breath and looked at Raven, who gave her an encouraging nod. Smiling at everyone, she gently rubbed her tummy.
"I'm pregnant," she said.
"What?" Raven asked while everyone was surprised. Say that again, darling," he added, his eyes pleading. Brienne took out the box and handed it to her husband.
"I'm pregnant, love," she whispered. "My Raeya, you're going to be a big sister. Isn't that what you want?" she added.
"Yey! I'm going to be a big sister!" Raeya exclaimed while jumping up and down.
"Oh my goddess," Ravena said. "Congratulations, sister!" she added and gave Brienne a hug while Cecil was sniffling on the side.
"You're crying again?" Arthur asked.
"I'm just happy!" Cecil said.
Raven held Brienne’s hand and, without hesitation, kissed her softly on the lips.
"You just made me the happiest man again, darling. I love you so much," he said.
"I love you too, love," Brienne replied with a warm smile.
"This calls for a feast! Oh my God, I have another niece or nephew!" Raven exclaimed excitedly.
Brienne smiled, her heart full. She knew their second baby would be just as loved as Raeya.
"When did you find out?" Ravena asked while the rest of the family was busy playing with Raeya.
"Yesterday morning," Brienne said. "I've been feeling different, but I wasn’t sure. So I took a test and then went to Sam for confirmation," she added.
"So that’s why he congratulated me," Raven said with a chuckle. He turned to Brienne, his eyes filled with love. "Darling, I’m so happy. Thank you so much."
Brienne reached out and cupped his face, her touch gentle. "You’ve made me happy too, love. Every single day, all these years," she whispered.
Raven leaned in and kissed her forehead, holding her close as their family laughed and celebrated around them. Their journey together had been filled with love, and now, it was growing even more.
