Chapter 92. Leaving The Obsession
A few hours earlier….
Keith stood up from his seat with a plan in his head. He knew that Pearl was most likely not his sister, but Keith loved Pearl. He couldn't allow Pearl to be hurt. If Pearl gets kidnapped, Taggart Kellent's enemies are after her.
So, Keith made a decision. He sought to see doctor Louis Durrant. Doctor Louis is still in his office with Doctor Billy. They were still discussing several things even though it was already past midnight.
"Mr. Rosenthal?" Billy opened the door for Keith. He went inside and stood in front of Louis. Doctor Louis also stood up and approached him.
“Did something happen, Mr. Rosenthal?”
“I want to talk to you. This is very important.”
Louis turned to Billy. Both of them allowed Keith to express his wishes.
“I want to move Pearl here. I know she is under Taggart Kellent's supervision at his hospital.” Doctor Louis was immediately interested. He plans to move Pearl but hasn't found the right way.
"Do you know what happened?" Louis asked to be sure.
"Yes. Someone kidnapped Pearl. I'm sure this is closely related to Taggart Kellent. He has trapped my sister. Now his enemies are targeting her.” Keith spoke emotionally. Louis seemed concerned. He nodded quickly.
“I will request a patient transfer, and Pearl will be treated here. Do you want to accept her?”
"Of course. I would be glad if she could admit here.” Louis immediately greeted him happily. Keith was stunned for a moment, and then he nodded confidently.
"Then I will prepare everything." Billy immediately took the initiative. He left the room not long after. Keith then turned his gaze to Louis again.
“But I have a request.”
“What request?” Louis listened deeper.
“I want to do a DNA test for Pearl.”
Louis widened his eyes. He was shocked and pulled his body back slightly. Keith didn't look like he was joking. But he was very serious. Louis' brows slowly frowned.
"What for?" Louis asked as if he didn't realise it.
“I just wanted to make sure of everything.”
Louis seemed to be starting to get nervous. He suspects that Keith already knows about the real Pearl. Requesting a DNA test is not something that should be happening now.
"May I know your reason?" Louis was getting more and more insistent. Keith gave him an expressionless face as if he didn't regret his request.
"I have to prove that Pearl is my real sister."
“What if the evidence shows otherwise? What would you do?" Louis seemed curious about the Rosenthal family's response to Pearl's identity, even though he had wanted John Rosenthal to admit everything more clearly.
"I don't know." Keith lowered his gaze. Keith wanted to be honest but couldn't seem to. He couldn't possibly admit that he accidentally eavesdropped on Pearl.
“You'd better take Pearl to St. Elizabeth before discussing the test. You also have to get permission from your parents. Does your father know about this?” Keith shook his head.
"Then, how,"
“I just want to prove it. If I may, I would like this to be kept a secret from my father.” Louis frowned even more in confusion.
"Why should it be like this?"
“If I had known that, then maybe I could have made a better decision.”
"You mean you're going to throw her out?"
Keith remained silent, still looking tensely at Doctor Louis. Doctor Louis took a deep breath and then looked away to the side.
Aside from the request, Doctor Louis gladly accepted Pearl’s transfer to his hospital. Therefore, Keith came to The Kellent Center early in the morning to take Pearl.

Taggart was so anxious he couldn't do anything. The hospital was transferring Pearl to St. Mary's Hospital, and Elizabeth complied with the request. What's most annoying is that Taggart didn't get to talk to Pearl. The decisions and actions taken so quickly disappointed Taggart immediately.
"Sir?" Taggart immediately stood up to meet Everest, who had just made several calls to take care of Pearl's business.
“She has arrived at St. Elizabeth. The chief of medicine will handle her directly." Everest reported. Taggart clenched his jaw and looked away. He remembered doctors Louis and Billy, who had taken the opportunity to look at Kellent's data bank in their tower. Could they be exploiting that for this matter?
"Sir?" Everest interrupted again. Taggart looked lost in thought. He was silent and didn't express anything.
"Sir?" Everest called again. Taggart jerked to look at Everest.
“Do you want to see Miss Pearl?” Everest offered something Taggart wanted. Taggart then nodded. He walked next to Everest towards the elevator, but Tamara's voice stopped him.
“Taggart.” Taggart turned to Tamara, who smiled at him.
"Where are you going?"
“To St. Elizabeth. I want to see Pearl.”
“It's best not to do that. Give her some time to recovery.”
Taggart frowned as he turned again to Tamara. Tamara still gives the best attitude and sweet smile to an annoyed Taggart.
"Why?"
“Tagg, I am a woman. I can understand her feelings.”
Everest also frowned with Taggart at Tamara's attitude. Tamara wants to talk to Taggart. She glanced at Everest and bravely pushed him away gently.
“Can I talk to Taggart privately?” Everest frowned at Tamara, who showed an innocent expression and a smile. He glanced at Taggart, who also glanced at Everest.
“Go, Ev. I will be there." Taggart also did the same thing by asking Everest to leave. Everest snorted in annoyance and was forced to leave.
Now, it was just Taggart and Tamara talking casually near the elevator. Taggart didn't want to sit down or go into the waiting room.
“After I saw it, I thought you were putting too much pressure on Pearl. She could become stressed and even more traumatised." Tamara started her conversation with Taggart. She used basic observations as a doctor to influence Taggart. So far, Taggart had remained silent, paying attention to what Tamara was about to say.
“Being kidnapped and experiencing violence is not an easy thing to deal with, Tagg,”
“That's why I want her near me. Instead of being transferred to another hospital." Taggart added to his denial. Tamara nodded in understanding. She approached and took Taggart's arm and invited him to sit on one of the coaches in a more comfortable corner.
“I know you must be disappointed. But obsession is not a good thing, Tagg.” Taggart's eyebrows immediately frowned when he heard the accusation.
"What do you mean?"
“I see how overprotective you are towards him. You seem obsessed with keeping her close to you."
"That's because she is my girl," Taggart answered quickly. He started getting annoyed but seemed unable to refuse to talk to Tamara.
"I know. Everyone knows that status, but your attitude will only make her more afraid of you.” Taggart was silent, looking at Tamara, who was reading his behaviour. Taggart turned his face to the side, not wanting to look at Tamara. Tamara smiled, feeling that she had been able to make Taggart understand.
“She is a mortal. Does she know who you are?” Tamara asked again, and Taggart nodded.
“Can she accept it?” Taggart raised his sharp gaze and took a long time to answer.
"Yes."
"Are you sure? She didn't accept you because you forced her, right?”
“Tamara, what do you want? Why do you hate my relationship with Pearl?” Taggart offensively asked back. He was uncomfortable and didn't like it when Tamara seemed to be controlling reality.
“I don't hate it. You misunderstand me. I told you that I am a doctor treating a person's mind and soul. The behaviour you showed will only make Pearl feel afraid and even distance herself from you."
Taggart fell silent again. He wanted to deny it, but Tamara said it very well. There was nothing wrong that he couldn't argue with.
“Maybe if she were a werewolf or had another soul, he would understand your obsession. But she's not part of us. She’s just an ordinary human. She could get injured and die sooner. Is not it?"
Taggart began to look sadly at Tamara. He clenched his jaw and didn't argue. Tamara just flashed a slight grin, but Taggart couldn't see it.
"You should take advantage of this time to improve your relationship." Taggart's brows frowned slightly.
"How?"
"Don't see her,"
"What!" Taggart immediately said he didn't like it. Tamara widened the curve of her smile even more. She was very sure of what she had just said.
“If you keep seeing her, it will be easy for her to hate you. But if you give her time to recover, she might miss you and return.”
Taggart was still frowning uncomprehendingly in a strange way. Tamara comes up with an idea to get away from Pearl so that she will return to her.
“I don't see if that's an idea, Tamara.”
"Why not? You fixate on it and don't see other possibilities. Even though many things are happening, you don't care about them.”
"That is not true!"
“Did you find out the kidnappers' motives? Have you found out? Because it seems like Keith Rosenthal found out before you.” Tamara silenced Taggart again. Taggart didn't like what the woman did. He shook his head quickly and stood up from his chair.
"I think that's enough for us to talk. Your idea is terrible, Tamara.”
Taggart immediately left Tamara. He gave Everest a code to follow. Meanwhile, Tamara was still sitting watching Taggart leave. She curved a smirk not long after.
