Chapter Seventy-Four: You Will Die.

Chapter Seventy-Four: You Will Die.

AFTER talking to Elder Damon, he didn’t waste time and go to the capital city of Verlice. He went there together with Lincoln even though Lincoln was affected by the gemstone. The effect of the gemstone on Lincoln is not that serious, unlike the Royal Guards who are taking care of the gemstones right now.

The Princesses are under Caroline’s care so Loki doesn’t have to worry. Those who are exposed to the gemstones within one day has more affected than those who just got near them.

“Do you think the humans would help us? Last year, we have a problem with them. Ever since that, we didn’t communicate with humans,” Lincoln said.

“We need to try. I am willing to pay them,” he replied. “Because it is not just for my wife, but for the whole South Verlice pack. If we don’t find a solution, our pack will vanish from the Verlice country…”

Lincoln coughed and then looked out of the car. It’s about ten years since he went here to the capital city of Verlice. It’s just a three-hour drive from South Verlice but they couldn’t just get in and out because of the policy between humans and other creatures. Borderlines are separating each of the creatures in Verlice.

The car stopped in front of the borderline. Two soldiers came to them and checked their eyes.

“They’re Lycans,” one of the soldiers said. “What are you doing here?”

“I am Loki Roosevelt, the King Alpha of werewolves in Verlice. I need to talk to the current King of humans. This is an urgent matter,” he said.

The soldier raised his brow. “Our King is far from here. You need to travel for two more hours before you can talk to him.”

“We are in hurry, can we talk to another person in charge?” Loki asked.

“Yes, our commander-in-chief,” he replied. “Wait here and we’ll call him.”

Loki and Lincoln waited there for about ten minutes. And when the commander came, he was a black man with long hair.

Loki came out of the car and then saluted at him.

“Loki?” The commander-in-chief, Robert asked in surprise. “You’re the King Alpha now?”

“Yes, I am. I can’t believe you make it, Robert Hughes.”

“Yes, I told you I can. What are you doing here? It has been a decade since we met. I’m the commander now.”

“We are here to ask for help. We need a human who can bring wolfsbane to our pack.”

“A wolfsbane? That’s dangerous to your race, right? Why do you need wolfsbane?”

“We have an emergency. Someone planted a gemstone that is dangerous to us inside our pack. And the only way to get rid of the illness is the wolfsbane.”

“How come?” he asked.

“Well, it is hard to explain but we need your help.”

Robert nodded his head and then turned his attention to the two soldiers behind him.

“I can’t go with you because they need me here but you can borrow my men to help you with that,” he replied. “There are lots of wolfsbanes there…” He pointed in the direction near the borderline. “We planted wolfsbanes because there are Rogues who kept on coming in here.”

Loki nodded. He understands the situations of people living in the city.

“No problem. But you know that the wolfsbane can’t get near us… Is it possible to bring it and then let your soldiers follow us on our way back to our pack?”

“Yes, sure! If that would do.”

“Thank you so much, Robert! Don’t worry about your soldiers, we will bring them back here. No rogues can attack them because of the wolfsbane.”

Robert nodded. “Yes, I trust you with that…”

Loki patted his shoulder before he went inside the car. “I will make sure to pay them as well as you.”

Thankfully, Robert agreed to it. The two soldiers got the wolfsbane right away and then followed by the two soldiers using their cars.

“We should look after them too. There were many rogues in this spot,” Loki said.

“Yes, your highness…”

Lincoln was looking behind them to see if someone might attack them… on the other hand, they are hoping that nothing will interrupt them. The sun has set and if they didn’t make it until tomorrow, the third day will be dangerous…

—

“Here’s your room, her majesty.”

Shiloh was confused when a woman wearing a black uniform opened the door for her. The room was dark, even the furniture are black. She hasn’t seen such a dark room like this. Then she saw the bed… the bed full of rose petals.

“Why do it have to have a rose petals in my bed? I thought that I will be imprisoned here for three days. I think you got the wrong room—”

She wasn’t able to finish what she was saying when a cold body pressed on her back.

“Don’t you like it, my Queen?”

Her eyes widened as she turn around to see who it was. A man with long hair, coal-black eyes, and pale skin color is smiling at her. His skin looked more like he was dead!

“W-who are you?”

“I’m the King of the Vampires. Isn’t it obvious?”

She swallowed the lump in her throat. Ever since that, she got in here, she can feel that there’s something wrong. But then, she couldn’t figure out what it was that she was feeling.

“Now, I’ll ask you again. Don’t you like the bedroom? Because you can just lay beside me in my coffin if you want,” he said.

She scoffed. “You’re insane!”

“No, the past leaders of Verlice are the one that is insane! How could they let this happen? They divided the creatures into different borderlines. Why did they have to do that if one can just lead the whole country… like us?” he said.

“W-what…”

Now she realized what was happening… It wasn’t the people of South Verlice who took the gemstone… it was all a plan!

“Have you realized it, Shiloh Harding?”

“It’s Roosevelt,” she said with gritted teeth.

“Oh, no! The moment you stepped in here, you’re not married anymore. After three days that Loki didn’t give back the gemstone, you will die and be reborn as my wife.”
