Chapter 29
~Samara~
“Will you marry me?”
I shake my head to get rid of the thought as I drive home. How could he ask me about that?
Marry him?
He got to be kidding, that’s not even what’s important at the moment. What was important was having my sons and leaving the pack. That was all, I had no plans to stay here and love...
No.
I have nothing of such feelings.
I can’t even love anyone because I’m struggling to set myself right.
‘If it was Vlad that asked you, I’m sure you must have screamed a yes.’ My wolf Maya taunts me. I rolled my eyes at her, that was not what I meant.
‘What do you feel for Vlad?’
‘I don’t know, Maya. I just...I can’t explain how I feel around him. It’s like I’m safe and like home.’ I dramatically throw my hands in the air and held the wheel again with a sigh.
‘And I’m not going to scream yes to Vlad.’ I reminded her.
“if I want to get married my children have to be there, Maya that’s the point. My life can’t be in chaos and I’m getting married with a fake smile and all that. Fuck, that isn’t right. I should know what’s important and what’s not. My children are my priority!” I half yelled at her.
‘They are the reason I came here in the first place, not for some silly romance.’ I hissed through my teeth.
‘Fuck, I know. Don’t scream at me.’ Maya snorted.
‘I’m so pissed off.’
I groaned and continued driving, I hit off the road and was making my way to the house.
I had spent a lot of time outside, it was never my plan.
If I hadn’t met Janet at the mall and Hector hasn’t shown up. I would have been home sooner, and how I was at Hector’s mall and had run into him.
I didn’t like the feelings that I got from it.
He said he doesn’t take rejection, I wonder how he was feeling right now after I turned down his offer.
That he was going to help me if I get married to him. I huffed and continue driving.
I couldn’t wait to go home and get these thoughts off my head. Vlad might be home now.
I didn’t know what I was going to say if he asked me how it went and I was hoping he wasn’t going to.
I push my hair backward with one hand and drove into the house of Vlad.
There was another car parked when I got into the house, it wasn’t part of Vlad’s car. I wonder whose car was that? If Vlad brought a new car.
I parked my car behind it and came out with my bags, holding each of them tightly. I glanced at the car if there was anyone in but the glass was tainted.
I walked past it to the front door, Mara was coming out of the car with some trash bags.
“Samara, you are home.” She smiled sweetly at me. I was starting to see her as a friend, she was the only servant I could trust in the house.
“You should have called me to help you get them.” Mara pouted when I was on the front porch and dropped the trash bag on the side.
“This is nothing, Mara. I can take them.”
“Let me help.” She was taking some of the bags from my hand.
“Don’t stop me from helping, that's what’s about to do around here.” She grinned and eventually takes the bag from my hand.
“What about the trash...” I muttered and pointed down at it.
“I will take care of it, Samara.” She chuckled.
“You are Samara?” A voice from behind called and I darted my eyes to her.
Her eyes went to my face, and I nodded curtly.
Why was she asking and who was she?
“Yes, that’s me and who are you?” I asked with my lips curved in a small frown.
“Oh, I see. They haven’t told you about me, isn’t that the first time you should tell her about Mara?” She took her gaze to Mara and glared at her.
Mara bowed and muttered a few apology words and it got me wondering who she was.
“I thought she has left, that’s Veronica. Vlad’s arranged mate.” Mara whispered in my ear.
My mouth curved into an O.
I have seen her before at the Gala, now she said it and I only get to remember that I have seen such a familiar face before.
She was the one who had almost taken off my mask.
“Why are you asking for me?”
She chuckled for a short while, her intense gaze didn’t leave my face and I was feeling uncomfortable under her stare.
“Just...” Her shoulders went up. “...curious to see the kind of person you are and I’m quite impressed. And you get out of my sight you disgust me.” She waved her hand at Mara. Mara bowed and took the bags from my hand and left obediently even when I told her not to leave she refused to listen to me.
She obey everything Veronica said to her, I wanted to know why she stopped me.
‘She must’ve been curious since you are staring with Vlad.’ Maya huffed. I rolled my eyes at my wolf.
‘Not now.’ I warned her and was focused on Veronica.
Because she’s Vlad’s fiancée doesn’t mean she should tremble on others.
What an arrogant bitch.
“Is there something on my face?” My frown deepens on her, I touched my cheeks when she had stared too long.
I couldn’t blame her, she met me here that was it, and fucking thinks she could do what she wants because she was Vlad’s fiancée.
“I’m glad I got to see you before I leave.” She forced a smile on her lips, I know it was all too fake.
I was used to seeing pretentious smiles and I could tell when I saw one, and this was what Veronica was doing.
“I’m not trying to be nice, you know that I’m not nice.” She stepped closer and was holding a railing and grinned at me.
“So what do you want?”
She must’ve something up on her sleeves because she couldn’t just stop me, and Mara said she thought she had left.
It only things means that she had been waiting for me in that car. I looked over her shoulders and saw the car.
That must’ve been hers.
“I want you to know that I’m watching you. Don’t think you are going to come back into Vlad’s life because of the triplet that you had.”
“Who told you about my sons.” I snarled at her.
“Vlad tells me everything, we are getting married remember? If I didn’t allow you to stay in this house, you would’ve been gone.”
I averted my gaze from her for a moment and stared at the blank wall for a moment.
I bite my lips for a while and said nothing to her, she was Vlad’s arranged mate. I get it now, they were about to get married.
“I came here to warn you, I don’t want you here anymore.” She was standing close to me, her eyes on my face with a sly smile.
“You should leave his house. Ain’t you spending so much time with someone that’s not your mate, and he’s engaged to be married to someone else.” She argued and eyed me suspiciously.
“Is this your tactic to come back at Vlad? That doesn’t sound good then.”
“Are you done?” I asked her and held the door. I had no time to exchange words with anybody especially someone like her.
I shouldn’t do it with her, I don’t even want to.
I want to go in and have some rest, that was what I needed to do at the moment. She had better not provoked me, because I’m not going to let it slip.
“Where do you think you are going I’m not done talking to you.” She pulled me back by the arm when I was about to leave.
I yanked her hand away from me forcefully.
“Leave Vlad alone or else I’m going to make everyone know about you. If that’s what you want! I’m going to tell them every single shit about you!” She shouted.
“Fine!” I snapped at her, returning the deadly glare she gave me earlier.
“I’m going to leave Vlad,” I replied through gritted teeth.
“I didn’t plan to stay this long either. So please don’t bother me about Vlad because I’m going to leave!” I screamed in her face. She took her lips in and swept her hair backward.
She stepped in front of her, I could feel her breathing. I was a foot taller than her and I didn’t let her intimidate me.
“Don’t fucking mess with me and do as I say, else you are going to regret it.”
I chuckled and stared at her for a moment too long.
“Don’t mess with me either, you don’t know what I am capable of doing.” I snarled. She scoffed and bashed my words aside, already concluding with her eyes that I won’t be able to do anything to her.
“I’m going to leave,” I growled. Her face pulled up in a half smile and she took a step back from me.
“If you are going to leave then leave his house right now!” She yelled and pulled me by the dress. I slapped her hands away from her and drag her closer to her.
“Do not touch me!” I pushed her away.
“I’m going to leave when I have my house ready. Do not push me. I see no reason why you should behave like this.” I frowned at her. She exhaled and bite her lips and stared at her body.
“You,” She wagged her finger and didn’t say more than that.
I smiled at her which I know was fake.
“If you want me to leave quickly, then you have to talk to Vlad to provide me with an apartment as soon as possible. Then I will leave.” I said calmly now didn’t speak too fast.
“I can’t just go out when I have nowhere to go to and the father of my sons has a mansion with a lot of empty right rooms you don’t expect that I sleep on the streets.” I folded my arms.
I saw the bewildered look in her eyes.
“I will make you regret speaking to me this way.” She threatened and turned and kinda hurried down to her car as if she was being chased.
I couldn’t get my head around how she suddenly run off as if something was wrong, she had seemed ready to fight with me.
She made me angry at her, it was never my intention.
I was having a not-so-good day already. She was going to make it worse.
I can’t love Vlad because of her, that he already had his life planned before I came in.
I don’t want to ruin it.
I will be the only one who gets hurt if I ever fall in love with Vlad.
I stared at her as she drive out of the house, I
pushed the door and went inside only to hear a car drove in.
Vlad was home.
