Chapter 26
~Samara~
I have driven out of the house in my car when I came down from breakfast. Maya told me that Vlad already left the house.
I ate and left for some shopping, I needed a few things which I had planned to get for myself at the mall.
I had a problem and that was I didn’t know where the mall was when I left the house.
I searched through my contact list if could find Xylan's contact. I would use a Google map but it was going to work on this part of the Crimson Pack.
It would have been easier if I was in the human world.
I don’t have it. I won’t forget to get them when I get back to the house.
I don’t want to call Vlad, he might decide to take me there.
I drive around the pack for a couple of hours, sightseeing, everything had changed as Xylan said. Vlad was a good Alpha today Crimson Pack.
Everything looked different in a good way.
I stopped the car when I arrived at the mall and got out of it, I adjust my face cap and went into the mall, and started to pick up the things that I would need.
Someone bumped into me roughly from behind when I was about to leave the mall, and the duffel bags I was holding fell from my hands.
“Oh. I’m sorry.” She muttered and wanted to help me with my bags.
“Don’t, please.” I took her hands off and take up my bags and the face cap that had fallen off.
She muttered a few words under her breath about how rude I was. That I had chosen to ignore.
I didn’t want to have any encounters with anyone.
I held my bags when I was done and turned t leave when a voice stopped me.
“Samara?”
Everything I had prayed for was not to see the woman I hated all my life. I dreaded seeing her again.
But now I have heard that voice that brought nightmares to me, made me hate my life, and regret being an orphan.
“You are Samara. I can never forget the face of the girl that ruined my family.”
“Do you know how Janet?” The woman who had bumped into me asked.
“She looked classy and rich. How can she be someone you know, you bought those expensive bags from earlier? You must be mistaken.”
I didn’t turn, I held the bag tightly and was about to run out of the mall as fast as I can get to the car.
“It’s her. She might be closed in an expensive wears it doesn’t hide a filthy rag.” She snickered, I head to the door with my hand on the handle and was about open it when she pulled me over the shoulders and takes off my face cap.
“Are you going to hide from me?” She scoffed and pushed me backward.
“I don’t know what you mean ma, you must have mistaken me for someone else.”
“Really?” She laughed.
Her laughter made me shudder, and I couldn’t meet her gaze.
“Samara, it can only be you. You can’t even stare at me, right now. Doesn’t that shows it?” She folded her hand and eyed my outfit.
I suddenly felt so cold under her gaze.
“Samara.” The other woman came to her side and stood close to Janet.
“I don’t believe it.” She shook her head.
“There’s a scar on her shoulders I can prove it, this little witch! How dare you came back to his pack when you shook have died!” She yelled and started to struggle with me, she yanked the bags off my hand and was trying to rip my dress to reveal the scar on my shoulders.
“I’m going to show you that it’s her.”
“Please, stop.” I was trying to stop her from tearing off my clothes.
Someone came, but I couldn’t see him clearly because of the tears that blinded my eyes. I could tell he was masculine because of the sound of his voice.
He pulled Janet away from me and pulled me into his arms.
“How dare you harass my wife?!” His cold voice made them withdraw from me.
“How can she be your wife, Hector, she’s a...”
“Enough!” He lifts his hand to stop Janet.
How did Hector know that I was here, I wasn’t expecting to see him.
“I won’t watch you badmouth my wife, she told you she’s not who you think she is, and you. Why were you seated when you saw what was going on?”
“I’m sorry, Sir.”
“You are fired, where are the guards, take these women out of this mall. They shouldn’t come back here unless they choose to apologize for the mess they have made and paid for this...” Hector points down at the duffle bag, Janet was stepping on.
I stared at Hector and didn’t know what to say to him. His hand tightened around my shoulders.
“What are you going to say?”
“We are sorry, Ma.” Janet bowed her head at me. “I must have mistaken you for a girl that looked exactly like you. It was a foolish mistake. We are poor and couldn’t afford to pay for this...” She squats and picked up the bag.
I grabbed them from her hand.
“It’s fine.”
I just want to leave here, I don’t want to see her face and stay this close to her.
“Take me away please,” I said to Hector, tugging at his arms.
“Are you okay?” Hector asked when we were seated at a cafe.
I smiled faintly and nodded.
“You almost wanted to cry there, I guess there must be something with the woman.” He sipped from his coffee.
I nodded and kept my back on the chair. The memories which I thought I had forgotten flashed through me like it was just yesterday.
“She was my foster mother.” It was something I like to talk about, so I kept it at that. That was the only thing he should know at least.
I never thought I would see her again, I never wanted to, I was hoping I won’t see her.
The reason I never leave the house, and was always in the door.
She was able to recognize me even when she had seen just the side view of my face.
I sighed and looked out the window since we were seated close to it.
“Is something wrong, Samara?”
“Doesn’t seem you get along well with her, it must have been difficult for you, wasn’t it?”
“It was, my younger self didn’t have it easy with my foster parents.” I smiled wryly finally taking a sip from the cold coffee.
“You are everywhere, Hector.” I decided to take the talk away from me and focus on him instead, I don’t want to indulge in my past.
“I’m a businessman. I have restaurants, shopping malls, and bars. Well, I have to meet the Alpha to get all that. Needed his approval for a few things done.”
I nod, understanding that Hector was one of the richest in the pack.
I took another sip from the coffee and stared at my face cap on the table.
“I wasn’t expecting to see you today, well I’m glad I did. I didn’t get your contact the last time. I don’t think I should miss it this time.” Hector stretched out his phone to me, I took them. At least I was glad he saved me from Janet and her friends. Though I have thought countless times about how I was going to react when I meet Janet.
I couldn’t do any of that.
“Thank you for earlier.” I gave his phone back to him, Hector grinned and kept his phone back in his pocket.
“I’m glad, I was able to help. Rumors might start to go around but you shouldn’t mind that and before I forget, now that you are here I have something to tell you.” He leaned closer with both hands resting on the table.
“I have got something on the Kidnappers.” His voice sounded a bit hush and he glanced around the table we were. If anyone was listening to what he was about to say.
The cafe was scanty, I doubt if anyone was listening to us.
I tuck my loose hair behind my ears and fixed my eyes on him.
“What was it...” I was anxious now and want to know what was it that he got.
“I heard from a reliable source that it’s a male. A man is behind this incident and the one who had taken your sons is him.”
“A man? What is he like?”
“That, I don’t know but I assure you it's all a man’s doing. It wouldn’t be long before he’s going to reach out to you.” Hector withdraws and sat upright, he stared at the window while I followed his gaze, thinking of what this could be.
“He might be someone close or someone you won’t even think of. You can’t trust anyone, don’t even trust me or Vlad. There might be something we ain’t telling you or who exactly is the mask behind the mask we both had no idea who. Why the man is after you and your sons, you only have the answers to that.” Hector explained.
There was meaning in what he said, Vlad didn’t know about the children’s existence before I came to the pack.
I was the one who told them about them, Vlad couldn’t kidnap his children, could he?
I ruffled my hair.
I must be going crazy, having such a thought about Vlad.
“I’m not going to tell you, Sam. I’m sure you’ll figure it out yourself, that man that’s doing this to you.”
“Thank you, Hector.”
“I won’t ask for anything else but just one thing.” He stated and leaned back on the chair with a smirk. I furrowed my brows at him, wondering what he was about to spill now.
Not with those mischievous looks.
“What is it, Hector, I promise I’m going to pay back for what you did today.”
“You don’t have to pay me back, Sam.” He reached out to my hand on the table and placed his hand over it.
The spark when he touches me was there, because of the curse mate bond.
I rolled my eyes at the insensitive feeling and withdrew my hand from it.
Hector looked a bit disappointed but he tried to hide them with a smile.
“I’m listening, what do you have to say to me?” I stared keenly at him, Hector was someone I couldn’t know what he was thinking.
He could be smiling happy and having another thought.
Vlad was predictable at times when he was with me, Hector was someone I couldn’t understand what his motives were, and why was doing all of these, and didn’t just regret me when he saw me.
“Marry me, Samara. I will help you find your triplet, they will become mine too. I promised you, you have to trust me. I have already told you this in just a while that we have met but what had Vlad done for you?” He dropped his hands from the table and smiled softly.
“I don’t take rejection, Samara.” The smirk returned to his face as if it was plastered on.
“Will you marry me?”
