Chapter 13
~Samara~
“You’re...”
“I’m fine.” He cut me off abruptly.
“You are in no position to worry about me,” He spat.
“I’m in a position to worry.” I protest.
“Your body, your wolf need to be fine until I found my children, I’m gonna worry about you. Until I know they are fine because I need you so do not!” I raised my voice, startling him a little.
“...come back to his mansion the way you did last night. Else imma be the one to kill you!” I slammed my door in his face.
“I would be home late so don’t wait for me,” I said at the door.
“I wasn’t going to!” I had to yell so he could hear me.
“Very well then.”
Argh!
I wish I could scream my lungs at him. What an asshole, I complete jerk.
That’s right, that’s what he is, I was just moved because of what Xylan told me but Vlad is still a jerk and how he kissed...
No, I don’t even want to talk about that, it would make me want to whack his head.
Such an annoying prick.
“Get him off your head, Samara. Get him off your head, don’t think about him. He’s not worth it.” I whispered to myself, walking down to the bathroom for a warm bath.
I filled the water to the brim at the bathtub when I heard a knock on the door.
“Samara, the Alpha asked me to bring you some food,” Maya called out.
“I’m in the bathroom, the door isn’t locked so come in and dropped them on the bed!” I yelled.
I guess she heard me as the door opened, I took off my clothes and slide into the bathtub, letting myself get soaked in the bathtub. I run my fingers through my hair as I washed them gently, closing my eyes for a moment, I could see the face of Vlad as if he was in front of me.
“I kept them on the bed.”
I opened my eyes, immediately.
“Alright, thanks!”
Why was I thinking of Vlad in the bathroom?
This isn’t how it should be, this was supposed to clear my thoughts of him not make me think of him.
“Samara?”
“Yes!”
“Your phone is ringing, can I come give them to you?”
“Please bring them to me.” The cops did say I had to take any calls from my phone and that it might be from the people who took my children. That was the advice they told me when I was at the station on the record of my son missing.
The bathroom door opened slowly and she stretched out her hand towards me with her head turned the other way, I took my phone from her hands.
“Thanks, Maya.”
“Glad I could help,” She shut the door and went out.
My hands were slippery, so I wiped the water off with my hand. The call came through again and I picked them up and placed them in my ears.
“Hello...” I said but I heard nothing from the other end, only the sound of the person’s breathing.
“Hello...” I had to repeat myself, was this some prank call or what?
What the hell was this, I took the phone away from my ear and stared at the caller ID.
It was unknown.
I placed them back on my ear.
“Hello.”
“Hello, Samara.”
The deep baritone said on the phone, his voice was cold and domineering. I couldn’t think of anyone who I know has this voice.
“Hello Samara,” The voice was feminine now, was this a voice changer?
“Do not worry about finding me, when the time is right you’ll know. I’m watching you, and I’ll kill you!”
“Argh!” I screamed.
“I WILL KILL YOU!” The voice roared and I shrieked and hurled my phone across the wall of the bathroom with my hands over my ears.
“Samara, are you okay?” Maya panicked voice shoot out from the door and in the next seconds the door was wide open.
I was hyperventilating, and struggling for breath.
“He said he’s gonna kill me!” I shouted, tears streaming off my face.
“He’s been watching me, he knows everything. My children are in his custody, he gonna hurt them, he gonna..” I rasped on fearfully.
“Calm down, Samara.”
“Please calm down nobody he’s gonna hurt you here.”
I shook my head at her.
“That’s a lie!” I shouted.
My drugs were on my bed and I need to get them to calm down.
“Oh my god, what am I gonna do?” She paced in front of me, grabbed my phone from the door, and see that it was broken. She ran out of the bathroom and I heard her putting a call through Vlad.
“Alpha Vlad...something happened, you need to come back right now.”
~Vlad~
I was having a meeting with some of the directors in the company, and we were planning to expand the business to other packs and estate consultations. There were other several houses as well across packs.
I had to come to work because of the meeting, and it was a good thing to distract myself from the attack that happened at the pack last night and of course, not to think of Samara.
I ignore my phone which kept ringing on the table and was distracting the meeting I was having. I was about to hand the phone over to my secretary when I saw the person calling was one of my servants.
Is something wrong?
I excused myself from the meeting and picked up the call I was about to lash out at her if it was something unimportant but then I heard whimpering from the backwards.
“Alpha Vlad...something happened and you have to come right now.” She rushed her words.
“What happened? Talk to me slowly so I can hear you and understand you.” I demanded.
“She received a call while she was in the bathroom and she had been crying, and she seems so scared. I don’t know what to do to calm her down.”
“What call was that?”
“She said, the caller told her he’s gonna kill her.”
I run my hands over my hair.
“I’ll be there immediately, do not leave her side to understand?”
“Yes, Alpha.”
I hung up and went back into the conference where the meeting was held.
“We have to adjourn the meeting, there’s something important that I need to take care of.” I took my other phones from the table and a few pieces of paperwork and hurried out of the building, I didn’t bother to wait and hear what they had to say about it.
I did not care if they agreed to it or not.
I kept everything in my hands on the car seat and started the car, driving out of the company building.
I hit on the accelerator, faster than usual.
I had to be home as soon as I could.
Samara was on the bed when I came, her hands were wrapped around her body, and her legs were drawn up to her chest.
I dropped my car keys on the table and strolled over to the bed.
“Hey...” I called and sat in front of her taking her cold face into my warm hands. She lift her eyes and stared at me, it was all red and puffy, she had cried for a long time.
“I’m right here, you don’t have to be scared anymore.” I pulled her into my hands and she held me tight unto me.
“I received a call, Vlad. He said he knows me, he called my name and said he would kill me.” She sobbed quietly. I rubbed my hand down her back soothingly.
“I’ll kill him before he gets to you,” I told her and I meant the words I said to her.
I would kill him for frightening her with those words.
“He uses different voices to talk to me, maybe he doesn’t want me to recognize the voice.” She sniffed, I pulled her away and wiped her tears with my thumb.
“I won’t let anyone hurt you, Samara,” I said sternly.
“What if he hurts my children? I think he has them with him.” She moved her head to the side and I held them in one place.
“Look at me, look at me, Samara.”
She stared at me, and I sighed.
“They are no longer your children, they’re mine too. I won’t let anything happen to them or you, because you’re now my priority. Understand, I would protect them and I’ll find whoever is doing this and deal with him. You trust me don’t you?” She nodded at me.
I pulled her closer and kissed her forehead, and pulled her into my arms hand again, holding her protectively.
“It’s okay,” I whispered into her ears.
“I’m gonna protect you, Samara and I’ll protect our children as well.”
She nodded against me, her body was a bit cold, when I glanced over at the table there was a lot of drugs of a different kind on the table and a bottle of water.
“C’mon, you should rest.” I lay on the bed and pulled her into my arms and we lay on the bed with my hands over her, and made her fall asleep in my arms.
I clutched my fist, I will make whoever did this pay, a thousandfold.
Until I find you, I swear you’re gonna regret this day.
It was a promise.
“You’ll be fine, Samara. I’m right here and I’m not gonna let you out of my side ever again.” He kissed her again, holding her close to me.
