Chapter 11
~Samara~
I was wakened up from sleep when I heard a rustling sound from the living room, followed by hush voices.
I got up from the bed, wondering what was happening, and made my way downstairs to see what was going on for me.
I gasped and quickly placed a hand over my mouth when the first time I saw was blood.
“What happened?” I asked and stepped closer to see Vlad being carried in and lying on the couch with blood all over him.
“We were attacked, some rogues were sent to the pack.”
“Rogues.” I mouthed and hunkered down to have a look at Vlad. He seemed to have been hurt badly.
“I’m going to call the pack doctor, I wanted to take him there but he refused. He didn’t want to go there so I have to call the doctor here.” Xylan stood up and was heading to the door, he turned and added. “...can you take care of him till I get back?”
“I can take care of him,” I muttered with my eyes on Vlad's body as he groaned in pain.
“Take her away from me, Xylan.” He growled with his eyes half shut.
“That’s not a nice way to talk to someone that’s gonna help you.” I glared at him, he opened his eyes fully and scoffed at me.
I rolled up my shirt and placed my fingers on his pulse.
“What are you doing?” He mouthed.
Xylan came forward and asked the same thing Vlad asked.
“Your wolf is weak, that’s why your healing is quite low and you need help.”
“How did you...?”
“I’m a doctor, Vlad. So I know what I’m doing, so shut up and save yourself some breath.”
“You are what? Sure you ain’t trying to kill me?”
I rolled my eyes at him and tilted my head to the side.
“You can get the pack doctor, we’ll do it together.”
Xylan nodded curtly and darted out of the house immediately.
“I need to clean your wound.” I stood from the spot I had been squatting and Vlad's hand grips me and pulled me back to him, my hand was placed on the hand of the couch to support my position, so I don’t end up falling on him with my face inches away from his face.
Vlad stared at me for a few seconds without saying a word, looking intently into my eyes and then he let go of my hand and looked away.
It felt strange, I swallowed nothing and moved away, and run my tongue over my lips.
What was that about?
“Why did you allow yourself to get wounded this much?” The silence was killing and I had to say something than just stare at him.
He exhaled deeply without answering my question.
“Alpha that couldn’t protect himself,” I murmured, he held my gaze and wanted to talk back at me when Xylan came back with the pack doctor.
I smirked and turned to the door and exchanged a few greetings with him.
“He would take care of me alone,” Vlad stated. I chuckled slightly with a long stride I was right beside the couch he was lying on.
“Why?” I asked with a glint of mischief in my eyes.
“You don’t want me to see you naked?” I smirked, if he hadn’t been Vlad I know. I would have thought he had blushed.
Vlad watches me, as I wore a glove over my hands. His eyes followed every one of my movements until I was back at his side and then he pretends as if he hadn’t been staring at me.
“This is gonna hurt but since you are a big bad Alpha. I doubt if you would feel any pain.” I injected him on his arms, his lips pressed together in a frown and hissed slowly and I grinned at him.
Vlad was moved to bed and I worked with the Pack Doctor taking care of Vlad’s wound while he drift off to consciousness.
I changed his clothes and covered him with the duvet, he was probably in a deep sleep.
I got out of the room, and suddenly urge for a massage.
“...Samara?” The Pack Doctor called and I walked towards him while holding a glass of water.
“I have not seen you in this pack before, and neither do you work at the pack hospital either. Do you want to work at the hospital?”
I shook my head lightly at him with a small smile plastered on my face.
“I’m coming for a visit, I’m the Alpha’s guest and I’ll be leaving soon,” I told him, sitting on the easy chair.
“Oh, we would have needed someone like you around. You would be of great help to the pack hospital.”
I chuckled softly at his words.
I had no plan on staying here.
“If you decide to stay, you can give it some thought. Samara, we’ll welcome you.”
I nodded at him and took his box which he came with and Xylan led him to the door.
I was not wanted years ago, everyone hated me and now they’re gonna welcome me with open arms. If he knew I was the Samara from years old that was broken.
They want me to stay when they wanted to leave the pack.
“Are you okay?” Xylan touched my shoulders and I flinched a bit.
“I’m fine.” I exhaled and drank from the water.
“How come you were attacked?”
Xylan took the next seat that was close to me and rubbed his hands down his thighs.
“Rogue came into the pack at first, there was a fight at the borders and one of our warriors died, it was a plan to know how strong our border was, seeing how they were able to get the first with just a single rogue. They decided to attack again, and the warriors said nothing about the first intruder.” Xylan explained slowly so I could understand what he was saying.
“Why didn’t they say anything about it?”
“They thought they could handle it, and besides the pack hadn’t experienced rogue attacks for a long time. Probably they thought it wasn’t gonna be an issue.” He sighed and leaned his back on the chair. He sustained some injuries as well though they weren’t as bad as Vlad's.
I gulped down the glass of water and dropped the empty glass on the ground beside my feet.
“You should rest Sam. I’m gonna check on the other members, take care of the Alpha please.” He raised from the chair.
“Wait.” I stopped him.
Xylan sat down back.
“What happened to the Alpha?”
