I stepped out of the house after that moment, Xylan had mind link me that there was something wrong along the borders and I was heading there to see for myself.

I did not know what was wrong with me and why I had acted that way towards Samara.

Why did I fucking kiss her?

My body had reacted strangely that I couldn’t understand.

I shifted into my wolf for a faster run into the woods and it would at least clear my thoughts and what I was feeling for Samara.

“Alpha,” Xylan called when I was close to them. I shifted back into my wolf form and he gave me a long black coat which I wore over my naked body.

“What was wrong?” I pant slightly, taking the lead and he followed closely behind.

“There was some strange movement along the borders, these are the claws of a wolf on the ground.” Xylan pointed out and my eyes traced it, I squat and touched them with a finger.

“What was more strange, there was no body or even blood on the ground. It shows that a fight had happened here. Our pack has been peaceful for a long time, and I couldn’t think of this happening that rogues are sneaking into the pack.”

I rose slowly and looked around the borders.

“Did any of our men go missing?” I stared at Xylan and he was silent for a while.

“Who was supposed to be in guarding the borders? Bring all the men to me, immediately.” I waved my hands at him.

“Yes, Alpha.” Xylan left and returned quickly and behind him were the pack warriors that were protecting the borders.

They stood in a linear motion with their hands kept at their side.

I stepped closer to them with my hand folded.

“Tell me, who among you is missing? And which of you were in charge of last night? I won’t ask again or I’ll have you all punished. Something like this happened and none of you reported this to me?”

“Dolan is missing, Alpha. We wanted to resolve the issue without having you involved in it.” Silas, the leader of the pack warriors said as he stepped forward.

“We thought we could handle it. I’m sorry Alpha.” He bowed.

“If Xylan hasn’t told me, I would never have found out about this, that a rogue had come into the pack and taken one of our men and how well have been able to resolve it?” I stared furiously at Silas. He fell silent and took his lips in.

“What else are you hiding from me? Is Dolan missing or he’s dead?”

I was only a step away from Silas, they all twitched uncomfortably among themselves.

“You didn’t want me to know, you cleaned up every clue and every mess it would have made.” Immediately I extended my hand around his neck and flipped him, his back hits the tall tree by the side, and fell on his stomach.

“You hide the truth and why?” I barked at them.

“We are sorry, Alpha.” They unison and it made my anger rise speedily.

“Where is Dolan? And who attacked him? Was it a rogue or it was one of you?” I snarled and shifted into my wolf form, letting my wolf take control.

I could easily snap their neck and they know they couldn’t go against me.

“We are sorry, Alpha. A rogue came into the pack, Dolan tried to stop him but he got killed and we went after the rogue but we lost him.” Silas cried out and I halted in my track and transformed back to my human form.

Taking back my coat from Xylan.

“We wanted to find the rogue without having you involved.”

“Find him!” I snarled.

“Our pack has never been attacked before, tightened security on the borders and find the rogue, he could be a spy that was sent to the pack.

Then I heard snarling behind me, it wasn’t a sound just a wolf would make and I knew it wasn’t just one wolf that was behind us.

I stared at my warriors and they nodded at me. I turned slowly, seeing the rouges that were coming at us, a lot of them that I had lost count.

If they had told me about me the rogue that had sneaked into the pack, we would have made a quick decision and it won’t have resorted to this.

My wolf surged forward and takes charge immediately and was ready to attack.

“Attack!” I growled and changed completely into my wolf form, and let them come to me.

They came at me once, and bare their teeth. My wolf fought fiercely, biting and snapping their neck.

If they think any of them would escape my grasp and leave cross the borders alive, it was never gonna happen.

I had no intention of letting any of these rogues see the next morning.

The rogues were strong and it was as if they came prepared, we had never been attacked by rogues for a long time. This only means something was coming.

One of the rogues bite my arm when I was fighting off the other, I let go of the rogue I was fighting and gripped the other who had bitten my arm and hurled him across the woods.

The ones around me huddled in fear and began to move back from me.

Karan my wolf liked it when they try to play rough.

They surprised me and ganged up against me at once, about five of the rogues surrounded me.

I fight them off ignoring the bites I was getting from them.

I growled loudly when my claws were on the last rogues. Xylan came running to me, I was exhausted and bleeding from different parts of my body.

I shifted back to my human wolf and leaned on a tree.

“Alpha!” He hurried to me and stood in front.

“Find who sent them!” I growled and grunted at the instant pain that I felt.

“The target was me...” I whispered staring at the dead wolves covered in blood.
