Chapter 38 Thirty Eight
Elara's POV
My alarm clock woke me up. Today was roll call day. Something that's happens every Thursday. It was an important activity we never missed because it saved us the trouble of having spies living under the same roof as us. The morning dunhad barely risen when my alarm clock rang. I glanced at the clock, my bones wobbly. My body aching. 6:00 Am.
A frown stretched across my face. I felt to fatigue to stand up but I had no choice. My pack needed me.
I dragged myself out of bed, my muscles protesting vehemently durnthe previous night's fight.
The memory of the ambush still filled my head but I knew better that I had to pushed it aside.
Roll call was here agsin and it was crucial for our pack’s safety hence I couldn't afford to be late.
I quickly took a shower, the cold water reviving me and getting me back on track.
I settled for a black leather leggings under a matching blue top. As dressed, I mentally prepared myself for the day ahead. My pack's safety depended on my leadership, and I wouldn't let them down. Not like I had failed myself yesterday by being so dumb enough to walk into danger.
I took in a deep breath, I headedbout of my room to our meeting point.
As I headed to the hall, my eyes scanned the surroundings for any signs of trouble. I had to stay alert at all times and not let my guards down.
The morning air was crisp, and I steeled myself for what the day might bring.
I walked into the hall, my eyes quickly scanning the room for any signs of danger.
The pack was gathered, their faces solemn. I walked over and took a seat on my place at the front, surveying the crowd. Throne , Cyric Aria and Darius were already seated when I walked in. It was like I could never be early enough for the roll call because no matter how early I came, I was always outshined by the rest.
Fun fact, I wasn’t jealous of them. I admired their zeal. I loved their efforts because it showed how much they wanted the success of our pack.
Roll call was a routine check-in, but today it felt different. The ambush still lingered in my mind, and I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. I began the roll call, my voice firm and steady. The pack responded, their voices echoing through the hall. I nodded, my eyes locked on each member. We would get through this together, and I would ensure our safety. The pack's unity was our strength.
As Aria called out the names, I made sure to look at their faces to assertain if there was danger or not.
“Present’ rang through the air as we continued to call them out until the last name was called.
“Good job everyone. We all are present and there's no spy in our midst.” Aria began.
“If you notice anything strange or anyone strange don't hesitate to tell either Throne or I. Always remember that this is your home and we love to have you all here.”Aria urged, her voice unrelenting.
I stood up, coming to stand in the middle of the podium. I had been wanting to give a speech. Words of encouragement to my people since it has been long I did it.
“It's with pleasure that I stand her today. I can see the fire in your eyes," I began, my voice resonating through the hall.
“You all would be wondering why al this is happening. We have faced challenges ass a pack and I can assure you that I have faith that we will face more. The werewolf community doesn't appreciate us and would do anything to make sure we don't exist but I tell you that If we stick together, we're unbreakable. We'll face more but if our bond remains unbroken, we will triumph." I gazed I paused, meeting the gaze of each member.
"We're not just an ordinary pack. we are each other’s family. We are here to protect each other. We are here to support ourselves, and with that we will thrive together no matter what challenges we may face.”
My words hung in the air, and I saw nods of agreement. Everyone seemed to aggre with me.
“Let's us all stay vigilant. Let us stay strong and stay. We're in this together. Always in problems together and by doing so, we will overcome any obstacle thrown at us.” The pack erupted in a chorus The pack erupted in a chorus of agreement, their voices and cheers filling the hall.
“Let's remain vigilant. Cautious. Cooperative. Let us have shared love for ourselves. Let us understand and have the narrative that everyone of you matters and contributes to the growth of our syndicate. We have faced trials and have come out victorious and we will continue to come out as victors.”
"With unity and determination, we all with joint forces will overcome every challenge," I declared, my voice filled with conviction.
The pack's enthusiasm was palpable, and I could see the fire in their eyes burning brighter their voice ringing with excitement into the air.
"Let's stand strong and upport each other, and emerge victorious in this trying times. Together, we'll face the future whatever may befall us with courage and confidence. With love and strength. With hope and care.”
The pack's cheers grew louder, and I smiled, feeling a sense of pride and hope rush through my bloodstream.
“We would get through this, together.” I assured for the last time as the applause died down.
I nodded, my eyes scanning the room. "Let's get back to work, pack. We have a future to build. A reputation to uphold. No matter what happens, we will triumph greatly.”
Slowly, the hall began to grow empty as they began to exit the hall. Throne approached me, a proud grin on his face.
“Assemble the others. We have a meeting.”
