Chapter 11 Eleven
Elara’s POV
A sensation of satisfaction rushed through my veins. A smile etched on my lips. My shoulders squared as I felt the breeze brush my face as soon as I stepped out of the truck.
Three men came forward. They began to move them to the warehouse.
Throne stepped out of the truck. His gun tugged in its sheath. He approached me. A sly grin portrayed on his face.
“Another operating done successfully
All thanks to your wisdom, Boss.” He smirked, his hands tucked into his back pockets.
My lips stretched to a smile. The corner of my eye wrinkled.
“You all made this work. Your cooperation is the reason for this.”
Aria came forwards, taking the snipper from me. She handed it to one of the guards who would take it back to the weaponry.
Aria returned back, her arms crossed above her chest. Sweat dripped down Aria's face. Her messy bun sticking to her forehead.
“I can't wait to see the look on the Kordova faces when they learn of this great misfortune.” she uttered, smiling devilishly.
Throne nudged her shoulders, his brows arched slightly.
“ I can see you're enjoying this, aren't you?"
Throne asked, his voice laced with amusement.
Aria's smile grew wider, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
“Of course Throne. You have no idea how excited I am. This is a big win for us.”
Aria replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
I watched the exchange, a sense of satisfaction still coursing through my veins. We were one step closer to our goal, and nothing could stop us now.
The infiltration was successful. The crates had been successfully looted and were being stacked in our inner warehouse. The guards closed the warehouse door with a loud clang. The sound echoed through the night air, dying out a few meters away.
“You all should freshen up and retire fircbed immediately after dinner.” I advised, patting Throne's shoulder gently.
He nodded, titling his head while motioning on Aria to get going.
I was hoping we could have dinner together. Just the three of us. You trusted your inner circle. Today was a success. A step closer to making the other packs realize our significance as a rouge pack. A step closer to making us richer. Bringing more fortune and good tidings.”
"Maybe some other time, Aria" Throne said with a wave of his hand, his smile hinting at amusement
“All I want to do is indulge in a good rest."
A frown pulled on Aria's face. She turned to me. "Boss? I know you are probably tired but let's do something small. A small celebration. A little feast. Just the three of us."
my eyes lit up in excitement. A mini feast would have been a great idea since the infiltration happened as planned. But…. We didn't know the outcome or how the Kordova family would react. "You plan it's good. I lit it, Aria but we will have to leave it for some other time, perhaps. We've got a lot to prepare for."
Throne chuckled, knowingly. "I'm sure you two will plan something amazing. For now, let's get some rest."
I smiled, satisfied with their response. "Alright, get some rest. We'll discuss the details later.”
The night was young but my bones were weak. I tried not to think about Luca.
I sighed. My tiredness was replaced by a sense of hope and possibility. I took a deep breath, the cool night air filling my lungs.
Our plan was working gradually and sooner than later, we would soon be unstoppable.
With a newfound sense of determination, I turned and walked towards my own quarters, ready to face whatever came next.
★
The morning started with the regular roll call. Today was the fourth day of the week and as required. We had to gather in the grand Hall where every member of our syndicate had to take their attendance. This had been going on ever since I became the boss. This was my little precaution. A way of prevent spies from sneaking into our walls and camouflaging with my men.
As soon as I entered the grand hall. The room fell silent.
All eyes were on me. Their facial expression a mix of respect and curiosity.
My gazes swept across the room. I scanned the room. My gaze lingering on each face fir a second.
They were all familiar faces. There wasn't a face I didn't find familiar
Throne stood beside my seat. His gaze fixed on me. Aruas stood close to him. Her smile hinted at excitement.
Aria was always the type to find happiness in everything. Even In roll call.
The roll call began, and each member responded with a crisp "present."
Roll call was a ritua that l was familiar. I sat down there, their response sending a shiver down my spine.
I nodded. Satisfied. Contempt as the last member responded.
With the roll call complete, we could focus on the tasks ahead, our unity and strength on full display.
Throne approached me as the members of the syndicate began to disperse. Everyone heading out to have breakfast.
“Good morning, Boss.” Aria squealed from behind me, frightening me. I clutched my chest. Turning around to face her with brows arched. I shook my head.
“You startled me.” I said wondering how, Aria who was just in front of me was suddenly behind me.
“I am so sorry, Boss. I didn't mean to.” How are you?” She persisted, tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear.
Aria was more than a friend. She was a sister. Supportive. Caring.
“My sleep was peaceful. Yours?”.
A smirk curled on the left side of her lips.
“Mine was peaceful as well. I woke up feeling charged.”
Just then Throne approached me. His brows pulled together. Alips twitched to a frown.
I could sense there was fire on the mountain.
“Three men where caught trying to escape being called out in the roll call. Turns out they are spies who have been in our midst for four days. They rea being held in the dungeon as we speak.”
My expression blackened.
“What!?”.
“This is bad!.” Aria muttered, get voice barely above a whisper.
