LOGAN
The light show reflected on all faces, giving off the buzz of the nightclub. Music was at its peak and the clubbers were at an all-time high. The dance floor was jam-packed and there were lots of hips and boobs swinging in the air.
The guys and I were seated in the VIP section, going over a few drinks. It was the biggest nightclub in California and had the best VIP lounge. From the lightning to the table arrangements, everything was on fleek. We spent half a fortune to be able to wind up here, but the services were worth every bit of our penny.
Empty bottles and shot glasses were littered on our tables. I was holding a bottle of scotch, and I was halfway done with it.
Another giggling pierced through my thoughts and my lazy stare took in the guys. Alejandro had three bottle ladies draped all over him. There was a lot of touching, kissing, caressing, smooching, and foreplay. All three of them got a fair share of his attention and they seemed to be over the moon.
Drake was going overboard with one of the strippers who came over to give us a strip tease. They were both squashed on a couch, it was the smallest couch in the lounge and the ideal thing would be to opt for a bigger couch. But they didn't seem to want to do what was ideal. The small couch gave them a great dose of proximity, and that seemed to be it for them.
Drake had her boobs sticking out of her lingerie and he sucked the shit out of her. She giggled in pleasure, snuggling closer to give him more access to her pert boobs. Lewd moans filled the air, and it was a fucking torture having to watch that and not have anyone go down on you.
Whilst my dick stood in my fly, I managed to keep my arousal in check. No matter how hard I get, it'll never push me into fucking any of these bitches.
It's been four years since I last had a good fuck, I never thought I could keep up the celibate shit for more than a week. But when Daisy left and I realized a little too late that I did love her, it plunged me into a depressed state. The hunger for pussies left me, and it stayed gone.
So all I can do here is get wasted, but no cuddling and smooching for me. You could say I was sworn off ladies.
Charles was seated on a different couch, going through his phone and doing his best to ignore the stripper giving him one hell of a tease.
It was funny to watch him act unaffected when his jaw was clenching in lust and he was forced to cross his legs just to keep his bulge out of sight. I doubt he's gonna keep up with that for much longer. The girl was hellbent on cracking through his walls of defense and it was only a matter of time before he gave in.
With a sigh, I chugged down a good amount of my drink, basking in the burning sensation around my throat. I was brooding my way through the night, getting lost in my misleading thoughts.
”Dude,” I heard Charles' hoarse voice close to my ears and I snapped out of my thoughts. He'd just joined me on my couch. What? Was he trying to escape his doom? “I've been calling you, man. Where's your mind at?”
“Nowhere. Uh, just trying to figure out something,“ I said, hoping to brush it off.
“What's that?“
“Nothing, don't worry about it,“ I took another draught of my drink, leaning my head on the headrest of the couch. Knowing Charles well, I know he wouldn't let it slide. So I did a mental rehearsal on how to explain my fucked-up thoughts.
”Just spill it, man. You know I'm not gonna stop bugging you until you start talking,“ Charles said, taking my bottle and chugging down the drink.
“I met this girl in the elevator,“ I began, remembering my encounter with the strange, human girl.
The girl from the elevator, the one I'd bumped into on my way out. It's been just an hour since our awkward meeting, but she was already living rent-free in my head.
How could she not? Our meeting was bizarre and left an imprint because of that scent around her. It was stuck in my head, and I can't seem to shake it off.
The elevator door had binged open and I didn't see her walking out. Jake had just texted me that he was craving pizza and that I should pick up one on my way home. It was crazy, 'cause I just asked him a while ago and he said he didn't need anything. And just as I stepped out of the room, he started craving pizza.
Irritated, I was texting him on how he and that pizza - craving can go to hell. I didn't see the door open. In the next second, she bumped into me and lost her balance.
It would have been one hell of a fall if I hadn't caught her. She had alluring emerald eyes and was staring dreamily at me. There was nothing extraordinary about our meeting, and I was gonna let go of her. But in the next second, I got a strong whiff of that scent, and I froze at the spot.
At first, it didn't feel real, but as the clock kept ticking and I dared to lean in closer to her, the scent came out bold and raked my senses.
I stared keenly at her face, she was a hottie, alright, but she didn't look anything like the real owner of the scent. So why did she have it so strong on her? What is this?
Lost in my reverie, she took a quick leap out of my arms, and the next thing I knew, she gave me a resounding slap. I didn't see that coming.
”Perv,“ she mumbled and brushed past me.
It all happened in a second, and when I finally got my wits around me, my face was stinging so badly. She'd gone all out with the slap.
I rolled my tongue around the insides of my jaw, trying to ease the pain. It was the first time a female was ever hitting me, and I wasn't sure how to react. Do I snap her neck? Claw her heart out? Pull out every bone in her frail body? Bash her face in? I don't know.
But the funny thing was, it was hard to get upset right now. Not when I was still thinking about that scent she had. And God, she's human. She can't have that scent around her.
I pressed the button, waiting for the elevator door to open. The door opened but I didn't get on the elevator, so it went shut again. I was still in a daze, as this moment felt surreal.
Been four years since I saw Daisy or felt her presence. But right now, this was her scent. I can't be wrong about this, there was only a limited version of this scent in the werewolf kingdom and beyond, and it belonged to her.
It was a rare, soothing scent, vanilla and a bit of tulip, causing a mesmerizing sensation when you breathe it in.
Four years apart wasn't enough to make me forget that scent. It was hers, but who was this girl and why did she have that scent on her?
I turned around slowly and was surprised to see her standing there, staring back at me. Her eyes held a mixture of fear and consternation.
Who are you? I wanted to ask, but I didn't. I forced myself to turn around and get into the elevator. She still had her eyes on me as the door was shutting.
For some reason, I wanted to see her again. Maybe we could go over why she had that scent on her, and why she thought she could hit my face.
When I ended my narration, Charles was in a feat of laughter.
“You got what you deserved, man.” He mocked, ”Why would you creep her out like that?”
“Dude, she had a peculiar scent on her. Sniffing her up was the only way I could be sure. And in the next second, she hit me. It's my first. And now that I think about it, I might just go ahead and kill her when next I see her,“
“C'mon, man. You asked for the slap when your eyes roamed her body the way you did. She's human, has zero knowledge that you're a desperate werewolf, in search of a scent, and you weren't ogling,“
”I'm not desperate, man. I just thought that scent was familiar. That's all,“ I defended. I hated that he called me desperate, even though that was the only word that could describe me right. I was fucking desperate.
”Yes, you are desperate. It's been four years since Daisy happened, but you seem stuck. You've traveled to the ends of the world trying to meet her, and even though it's all been a flop, you still trying to connect whatever silly dots that might lead you to her,”
”It was her scent, man. I'm serious. It was the first time I got a whiff of her scent since I rejected her,” I sighed, rubbing at my temples.
“What if you were wrong?“ Charles asked, breaking the icy silence, ”What if it was just the human girl's perfume?”
”It was more than that. In the brief moment with the girl, I felt like Daisy was back to me. That was how strong that scent was, it was so strong that I hallucinated for a minute. I couldn't have been wrong, man. No fucking way,”
“You can't just forget about Daisy, can you?” Charles asked. He was watching in a way that made me feel vulnerable.
And even if I said no words and just stood, grabbed a shot glass of scotch, and walked away from him, he knew the answer to his question.
Forgetting Daisy was impossible. I've tried, God, I've fucking tried. But each day, I find myself longing for her anew. And now, with this scent coming alive in my head, I'm back to feeling depressed and hating myself for my foolishness.
I stood at the railings, taking a sip of my scotch. From up here, you could literally see everything going on down there. Nothing caught my interest, I just let my gaze sweep through the crowd.
I brought the glass to my lips, taking another sip, from its rim, I thought I saw something. More like someone.
With a closer look into the crowd, I got a better vision and my breath ceased. The thumping of my heart was hard against my chest. Was this another hallucination, or was it really Daisy down there seated at the bar?
