Chapter 244

Writers POV

"Isn't that Mom?" Bryan asked with dilated eyes.

The alarming sound was more of a groan, someone was hurt, and that was Daciana.

Quickly both Dorian and Bryan set off, they strode as fast as their legs could talk them back to the hut.

When they got to the front, there was no one around, so they got inside instead. Upon entering what the both of them saw left their mouths hung open.

Daciana was shivering extremely, as though she were undergoing a severe panic attack. Her body kept on vibrating uncontrollably and her eyes turned white.

"Mom?" Bryan called out worriedly and jumped toward her, grabbed her off Ana who was holding on to her, and scooped her into his arms.

"Bryan…" she groaned weakly, barely clinging to life. Her expression was sour, and she was in immense pain.

It happened right after both Dorian and Bryan left. Out of the blue, the remnants of energy that was in her slipped away and were replaced with pain, an unsustainable one.

"Daciana?" Dorian called out after crouching to a knee. He wanted to drag her off to his arm but was resisting too since she was in their son's arms.

Ana and the head maid who were by the side watching this scene had displeased looks on their face. They were also in pain, it was unbearable.

In this last year t, they had made sure to sort for different cures to help save her but couldn't find any. The solution they could come up with was one that involves killing the source of the spell, which was Laura.

None of them had the power to do so, and they knew so.

Both of them looked down at Daciana, they anticipated she would want to be alone with her family to say her final words so instead, both of them excused themselves from what was going on and went out.

Those who were left were just the three of them in the room, and Daciana was slowly turning into a shell. Her body suddenly looked pale like her entire blood was drained out of her body leaving her with shackles of bones.

"Mom! Don't leave me please, I just go you back, don't please" Bryan wept bitterly. His heart pounded against his chest. His temperature skyrocketed and the thought of losing the one person he never wanted to, clouded his mind and broke him slowly on the inside.

"I won't leave you, remember I am always in your heart…both of you," she said but barely, her eyes moving back and forth from him to Dorian who had tears dripping off his cheeks.

The mate he was longing to see all this while was right in front of him, and fate itself wanted to take her away just after he got her back.

What sort of twisted fantasy was this? Moon goddess, are you seeing this? Are you trying to take away the one person I had loved all through my life?

Dorian's thoughts were jam-packed in his head, his heart thumbed faster than the speed of light, and he clenched his fight tightly. Currently, he doesn't know what he would do if something eventually happens to her, his love, the only woman in his life.

"Daciana, I can't live without you, I am not as strong–"

"Shh, say no more Dorian, be strong for me and take care of our son…" she grunted weakly and averted her gaze to Bryan who was now drenched in never-ending tears…" be good to your dad, I know he wasn't there for you but trust me he loves you more than anything" she added and cupped his cheek with her palm.

His eyes softened, and he gasped, weakly his hands trailed off to hers, and he parted her hands slowly.

"Nothing will happen to you Mom" he assured, sniffing hard until his nostril hurts but to him, it was bearable.

"Stay safe…" she paused and choked. Her words were caught halfway, and she wasn't able to complete them.

Her breath shortened, and her eyes began to close slowly.

"Mom? Daciana?" Both Bryan and Dorian called out to deaf ears, she was already gone and lost in another realm. Her consciousness had traveled out of her body, and they realized that soon after because her hand dropped to the floor like a sinking stone.

"No! It can't be" Dorian shouted as he dragged her off his son's arms.

Pressing her deep on his chest, he cursed the world for taking her away from him. Even the moon goddess wasn't exempted from this. It was such a cruel fate that no one deserves. Not him, not anyone.

His eyes glinted a form of hatred and sadness upon whom it might be, upon anyone. His hatred was pointed at everyone.

Suddenly, Bryan's eyes began to mutate. His vision darkened subsequently and turned murky, too dark, and emitting some foggy steam.

It wasn't noticeable by anyone, not even himself. One moment he was in tears, the other he was stone-cold like he got no humanity in him.

"You caused this, you caused our mothers' death" Bryan yelled at his father. There was coldness flashing off his eyes and he looked to be someone different.

Dorian was jolted toward him, his dead eyes flashed at his son who was speaking such insolent words at him. He wanted to open his mouth to yell at his son for saying such, but the guilt he was buried in wouldn't let him.

Rather, he swallowed the word with a gulp and flashed saddened eyes at Him.

Abruptly Dorian stopped crying and even stopped shrugging Daciana who was scooped up in his arms. Precisely he was ready for all that his son would throw at him.

On the other hand, Bryan stared hostilely at him. His hands suddenly blazed in flames, and he wanted to kill his dad at this instant but those eyes of his dad were looking at him as putting a stop to his beastly side.

Forcefully, Bryan tried resisting the voice rumbling his head, but he couldn't. It was too strong and had a widower in him, enforcing obedience, which he wouldn't want to defile.

Though his other side was telling him not to, he harmonized that part of him, at least for the moment.

In a blink of an eye, he disappeared into thin air.
