Aurora’s POV
Stretching my body, I opened my eyes and found myself lying on a bed. It was very strange to me. The last thing I could remember was my eyes playing a fast one on me. After that, nothing else crossed my mind.
I darted my gaze slowly around the room, it had beautiful finishings befitting those of a king. Undoubtedly, Alpha Simeon has an eye for elegance and class. My heart skipped a beat immediately I saw Alpha Killian sitting at the foot of the bed.
What happened to me and why am I in Alpha Killian’s room or so I thought?
“Thank goodness you are awake, we couldn’t move an inch until we were sure you are fine,” He intoned dryly with a face as blank as always. ‘Move an inch? What is he even talking about?’ I pondered away, making efforts to get off the bed.
Unexpectedly, my hands slipped off the edge of the bed. My head was about to hit the floor when Alpha Killian reached out for me. “You need to be careful. We don’t need you falling all over the place,” He cussed as he helped me rise.
‘Falling all over the place? What does he even mean by that? Was I in this bed because I fell?’ My mind was agog with different thoughts. It seemed to me that his every words were terribly piercing into my heart. What could this possibly mean.
“What’s going on here?” Alpha Simeon asked as soon as he stepped into the room. His hands rested on his waist in an akimbo posture. His eyes were partly clouded with anger and his mouth twitched into a stern askance.
“Exactly what you have just seen, Sim,” Alpha Killian threw in without a sense of courtesy or shamefacedness.
“It’s Simeon not Sim. If you would not call it in full, you had better shut it in,” Alpha Simeon rebutted, the muscles on his forehead knotting fiercely into a frown as he spoke.
“There’s no time for this, alright? I’ll go by myself to check on my house to see what I can lay hold on,” I announced dryly and started to move towards the door.
“Wait, you can’t do this alone. It is risky,” Alpha Killian said, reaching for my hand. I was happy that his eyes glittered with concern and care but of what use was it to me when I overheard his attestation to the fact that there’s another in his life a few days ago.
I yanked my hand off his grip and made for the door without uttering a word to Alpha Simeon who stood few centimetres away from the bed with his arms folded. “I am coming with you,” Alpha Simeon said. His words didn’t sound like a plea.
I took one last glance at him, smiled amidst a nod and breezed down the stairs to check on my kids. It felt like I have been weeks away from them. I found the nanny with the kids, deeply engrossed in one of their games. Not wanting to disturb them, I shut the door quietly and moved straight to the car where both Alphas were already waiting.
We got to the house to find the entrance badly torn apart. The knob was fractured irreparably. It seemed like the person who attacked the house came for a different purpose because none of my valuables were missing. I shuddered as goosebumps raced through my being at the thought of my kids being a target.
Before now, I hadn’t really taken the rumored rogue attacks seriously until this minute. I think that this is the last straw that will break the camel’s back. Both oof the Alphas moved around the house looking through the minor damage that had been done. None of them touched a thing and I appreciated them for that level of maturity.
I had never like people looking through my things let alone touching them and most of the persons I have met seem not to know that it is wrong to do so.
Were the rogues after me or my kids? What exactly do they want from my family? Am I being haunted again? These and many more questions couldn’t stop dancing at the edge of my mind.
“I know someone whom I think can help?” I announced after hesitating for a while. “You mean our help is not enough?” Alpha Kilian asked, arching his brows and piercing his gaze into my face.
“Take us there immediately,” Alpha Simeon commented, ignoring the question of Alpha Killian who began to exhibit some touchiness. In split seconds, we jumped into the car and drove to a steeply avenue.
“Erm...You both will wait in the car while I go speak to him alone,”
“Wait, what?” They chorused in amazement.
“Here’s the thing. This man is a rogue who doesn’t like the company of normal werewolves. That is why you should wait here,” I concluded.
Both alphas took a cursory look at themselves and threw their faces away immediately. I knew that there were small traces of disgust across their faces. I simply smirked and overlooked their acts.
Stood in front of the house that belonged to the rogue, as soon as I stretched my hand to knock on the door, he opened up and poked his head out.
“You are lucky it’s you, if not, you would have been shot on the spot,” he joked. It was his habit to utter things of such nature to make me edgy.
He has been helpful to me ever since I was thrown out by Alpha Samuel and denied by Alpha Killian. I found him while still roaming from place to place before I stumbled on Alpha Simon’s pack.
“An attack has been launched on myself and my kids by the rogues, I need some help getting to the bottom of this,” I explained carefully.
“The bastards are at it again. They seek to amplify their voices and reach using violence,” he stuttered slightly as he spoke.
“What do you mean by that?” I quizzed, curiosity filling up my eyes. “I might know the particular type of rogue involved but I will only help you on one condition,” he announced dryly.
